    Thomas was very rude and everyone I talked about my car acted like they didn’t know what was going or who was working on my car.. my car sat outside the whole time I really don’t think they looked it the whole 2 and half weeks it sat up there and was never contacted I always had to check on my car..

    I have taken my work truck into this Chevy house several times and it’s always a dice roll. The auto text you get for support is usually non existent. I have had to constantly text and ask the status of my vehicle which took the whole month of November to repair!! I had to initiate the talks. I would receive messages back that the “part” was still unable to be shipped and that I should extend my rental another week, which is easier said than done these days. It’s sad days when I’m hoping my company gives me a Ford truck next.

    This is a follow up to my previous review titled "Bad Experience" on 07-08-23. I wrote my review and later messaged Gene Messer through their automated "contact us" platform. Their Service Manager John contacted me and I explained what had happened He apologized for the misunderstanding and he sincerely wanted to make things right for me. I told him I wasn't sure what could be done now considering the work had already been done. He then offered to do the full system transmission flush I thought I was getting at no cost and set me up for an appointment. As I previously said I had never had an issue at anytime before this with Gene Messer. My previous sales and service experiences had been great. I now wish I would have given them the chance to make things right concidering my past experiences with them before posting my original review. Problems happen, but it's how one responds to the problem that shows a persons or businesses true worth. Thanks John, Jr and Gene Messer Chevy for your excellent customer service.

  • Bad Experience

    I called in and asked the price for a transmission flush and spoke to a gentleman, but don't remember his name. He quoted me a price of $229. I later called back and spoke to a lady named Ruby. I asked her if I used MOBIL 1 SYNTHETIC LV HP what the price would be. She left me on hold for over 15 minutes. She came back and stated it would be $360. I told her I was told it would be $229 and that I didnt think using the MOBIL 1 instead of Dex V1 should justify the $130 increase. She said that she spoke to the parts guys and that's what it would cost. I told her I booked an appt with them versus Scoggin Dickey because their price was $229 and Scoggin Dickey was $290. She advised me they would match the $290 Scoggin Dickey price, but that's the best they could do. I agreed to that. My truck has 95k and it was time for the Transmission Flush and was satisfied with the price because other places were $400-$550 (I only called reputable repair shops with good reviews). Plus I bought my truck at Gene Messer and take it to them for my other routine scheduled services. I initially thought I can get this done at the dealership, cheaper. This seemed like a no brainer. So I thought... Before today I have never had a bad experience with Gene Messer. So this review is based on my experience today only. Took my truck in for the Transmission Flush early this morning and when I picked it up later this afternoon I noticed on the receipt that it only took 7 quarts of fluid to do the flush. I knew my transmission took about 11 quarts and doing a flush should take over its capacity. When I asked them how it only took 7 quarts they went and got their tranny guy that did the job to come talk to me. He explained what he did. I asked him if the torque converter was flushed as well. He said "no that would take a lot more fluid". I told him I wanted a full flush because I knew the issues Chevy's 8 speed transmissions had and that the MOBIL 1 SYNTHETIC LV ATF HP is GM's fix. I told him mine didn't have any issues but that I wanted to get in front of any possible problems. I thanked him because in my opinion it wasn't his fault. I told Ruby that I had wanted a full flush. She said that I said I wanted my lines and cooler flushed. I told her that is not what I said. She then told me that a full flush would have cost me over $1200. I told her no it wouldn't because I would have taken somewhere else. I was quoted $400-$550 at another places with the exception of Scoggin Dickey's $290. If you call any quality auto service place and ask for a "transmission flush" what they price you for is a complete system flush. Not 1 will ask you if you just want a pan drop with the lines and the cooler flushed or if you want a complete system flush. NOT ONE... AND I SURE WASNT ASKED THAT BY THE GENE MESSER SERVICE CENTER. If I wanted that I would have done a pan drop myself. Because what they did is just a little better. Then to try and say I said something I didn't say to try and justify the mistake made it worst. I told Ruby "Oh well it is what it is I guess huh?" She seemed just fine with things ending like that. So now I'm running around with a blend of 7 qts of new oil and probably about 4 qts of old oil. Is it better then all old oil? Yes... But it's not what I wanted and not what I thought I was getting. I guess the old saying you get what you pay for held true today.
    • Please see my follow up 5 star review. I requested a call back from Gene Messer and they resolved my issues beyond expectations. I should have given them a chance to resolve my problem before submitting my review.

    The staff was super friendly from my salesman to the finance guy. I have bought cars before and always found it to be draining because of the time involved. Not this time it was quick from the test drive to signing the paperwork. Probably 2 hrs max. No haggling or going back and forth with offers, etc . I would definitely buy here again!!
