  • New Tahoe purchase

1 out of 5 starsby Shannon on 08/17/2025

We started with setting an appointment for a car on the lot. Upon arrival the salesman immediately passed us to a different salesman because, “he was too busy”. The second salesman lacked knowledge of the vehicle in question as well as the offered features. Online photos showed the vehicle with 15miles, when test driving it was noted that this was inaccurate and it actually had 4200 miles. The salesman again stated he did not know about the vehicle. It was noted while walking around multiple dents and issues with the protective guards. Upon entering the numbers part of the visit we went back and forth on a vehicle that was already misrepresented online for mileage. My husband and I were not understanding why we were negotiating on a vehicle that was advertised as brand new but had dents and 4200 miles. We were then visited by the finance manager and advised this dealership does not play games not try to hit homeruns in finance. This was proved to be yet another lie from this dealership. We waited over 2 hours to get in front of a finance representative. During this interaction we were slapped in the face with a dealer interest rate of 8.5%. Credit pulls would show great to excellent scores so I was not quite sure why the finance representative would throw that number out. After telling the finance agent that we were leaving he miraculously came down 3 whole points. I find this extremely offensive and untrustworthy. Upon leaving I was not handed final paperwork only the trade in information and minimal contract information. (IE interest rate and amt financed, no warranty information). This information was requested on Monday post sale and my husband and I were ignored as if we did not just finance 90K with stonebriar. It took calling a dozen times to get anyone to call back. Then when reviewing the sales contract my husband and I realized the finance representative never went over warranty costs. We were so exhausted from being held hostage at this car lot that we did not ask. However it was also never mentioned which again is distrustful. Other franchises are offering warranties at 3-4K and we were charged double. I honestly hope to never deal with this dealership in the future and I would 100% talk anyone out of visiting. We have also complained to GM as I feel this was a horrible representation of their products. The worst of this entire transaction is I no longer trust them to complete work on a “We Owe” that we fought tooth and nail for post transaction. Again I would absolutely NEVER do business with Stonebriar in the future. this dealership does not even care that this review is 1 star. It’s completely sad that a company/dealership does not even care about solid customer service

  • Watch out! Bait and Switch Sales Tactics at Stonebriar

1 out of 5 starsby Chad on 12/14/2024

The Internet pricing looks very good until you get the deal sheet which adds back $4K on a new Tahoe that they won’t remove to offset the advertised dealer discounts. When you competitively negotiate, they ghost you, waiting for the next person to take their higher costs. This is a bait and switch Sales team for sure. I found a much better deal with a different dealer that didn’t play the tricks this one plays. Watch out!

  • Terrible experience !

1 out of 5 starsby Mike Daniels on 08/12/2024

Purchased a new Colorado ZR2 in July 2024 and it had to be returned to the dealership within just a couple days due to a significant oil leak from under the truck. The truck has been sitting at the dealer for approximately 3 weeks at this point. I have been lied to by the service adviser and the service manager. There is no urgency to make any repair or make this right in any way. I reached to the dealer general manager but he wont see me and pawned me off to the sales mananger. Been anopther week and although promised, no update or communication. A complaint has been filed with General Motors. During the purchase, the business manager told me that even though I was pre-qualified from my finincial institution, they could provide me with a better interest rate if I purchased an extended warranty. I have subsequently discovered that this is illegal and I will be submiting a complaint and report to the FTC.

I have been a Stonebriar Chevrolet customer for over 7 years. I always have been treated as a valued customer and my vehicle has had the best maintenance possible. Service Advisor Maria Cardona is professional, knowledgeable and friendly. Her customers receive her undivided attention and she places a high priority on her customers’ concerns and service solutions for them. The Service Team is top notch and works as quickly as they can to perform their service and maintenance requirements. Everyone, including Sales Representatives, Cashiers, and Service, Loaner and Shuttle Driver Associates, are friendly and really pay attention to the details that make a dealership successful. Stonebriar Chevrolet is the very best of the best in dealerships.

  • Wasted my time

I emailed on a Monday trying to see a car that day. Used car manager suggested we schedule time the next day. I drove 40 minutes to get there at the appointed time only to be told an employee took the car. Sales manager asked if he could show us any other vehicles, I told him we were only interested in the one. Sales manager suggested we should go to lunch and he would call me when the car returned. My wife and I went to lunch, recieved no call and could not get in touch with the sales manager when we tried to call so we returned home. I emailed the sales manager that evening asking if we could try again and recieved a response saying the employee who took the car during the time I had scheduled purchased it. I'm not sure if this was just a bait and switch or just poor treatment of potential customer. Either way, they have permanently lost a customer.

  • Unfortunate preowned experience

1 out of 5 starsby Shelbymoor on 10/14/2018

Man—I really hate to have to leave this review. I had to delete my glowing review about my previous positive experience and that’s really not fair to the guys who did their job well and with integrity! Unfortunately, that’s just not where the story ended. Here is an update. I cannot even believe how quickly my experience went sour with this dealership. It started GREAT! I was SO happy with my experience purchasing my car. Chris Faul (sales) and Tyler Binion (business manager) were amazing. I could not have had a better experience with them. I WISH that’s where it ended. Within a week of purchasing my car, my husband noticed the coolant was low or possibly leaking. He refilled it so he could monitor it. He had to leave for a business trip, and the first day he was gone, and in less than two weeks of having the car, the engine started smoking. I took it in. Turns out THREE heater hoses had been leaking and ended up spraying into the engine onto spark plugs and causing other issues. Originally they asked me to pay $1200 to fix it. I was shocked—honestly. Floored. Couldn’t believe the gall they had asking for that. Three hoses do not start leaking and causing this big of issues overnight. Any decent mechanic could have and should have found that before selling. Because they either didn’t see it or didn’t care about the car they were selling, they sold it to me with this major issue (major because of what three leaking heater hoses leads to). So within two weeks of having it, thinking I bought a WORKING car, I find out now that it needs $1200 a work because of something this dealership overlooked? What. A. Joke. So they tell me they can “cut all the cost of labor” making it $800. Still—a joke. Turns out, $650 of that ~$800 quote is still labor. So not sure how that’s cutting the cost of labor. Even if they didn’t care to fix the issue but just had informed me it needed three new heater hoses—I could have had that fixed and negotiated a cheaper price to accommodate for that issue and it wouldn’t have caused all of the other problems with the engine which would have saved both of us money. But because they shirked their responsibility, they want me to pay for it. I guess I shouldn’t be too surprised there was an issue with the engine considering the first car we test drove at their dealership was jumping BAD in first gear. Beautiful suburban, lots of miles, over $20k. Turns out the transmission was shot so they decided to send it to auction after they gave it a drive. This car was listed online and sitting in the lot with the sticker price and more. Makes me wonder how much they really check a car before they put it on their lot. A simple drive before listing the car would have disqualified it from the start. What else are they missing? They’re either careless about the cars they put their customers in, or they have mechanics who aren’t checking the car out thoroughly. You should not have to drive a car after the lot under the guise it’s in good working condition when the transmission is shot or when there are three heater hoses leaking. This is a HUGE problem and I am extremely disappointed in how they have displayed a lack of ethics when it comes to my situation, and apparently many others if you just check out their Facebook reviews. They have had a few phone conversations and opportunities to fix it, but have proven how much they don’t care when it comes to the customers purchasing preowned vehicles. The only line they seem to be running back to is that we signed “as is” paperwork when purchasing the car—which I now realize is their way of selling vehicles with serious issues and not having to take responsibility for them. They like to mention their customer satisfaction ratings when you confront them with an issue they don’t want to solve, but I’d like to know what outdated forum they are using to get rated that way. If you just check Facebook reviews or yelp reviews, it’ll tell you a totally different story. They are averaging 2 or 3 stars if you check those platforms. I am willing to give them another opportunity to fix the issue because I do not want to escalate the situation. I really want them to choose to do the right thing. I have been driving a small loaner car in the meantime that barely fits my children’s two car seats. I am waiting for them to call me with a fair resolution rather than with a hefty bill and excuses. What is really, really unfortunate is that the post-purchase experience is now totally overshadowing the best purchasing experience. Chris was amazing, Tyler was amazing, even Rick Castillo who said he would be my advocate in this situation was helpful as well. I could talk all day long how happy I was with the buying experience. But even the best customer service in the beginning cannot outweigh the management and lack of ethics when it comes to taking care of their preowned vehicles and preowned-purchasing customers. Please do better.

I have purchased close to 80 vehicles over the years. Some to build and flip, some personal and some for our business. Rarely in my experience are things done as promised and rarely do you not spend your entire day there. I arrived and was promptly met by my salesman, picked out a truck, had my truck appraised, and was out the door in just a couple hours (including me leaving to grab lunch)! Well done! I received what I was asking for my trade and got a better deal than other dealers offered for the truck I was buying. Honest, transparent, fair and timely.....what else do you want!?
