Good cars review we could find we needed dealer reviews.
by padutchman on 04/25/2011updated 06/06/2025We did our best reading and accessing as much information we could on our new car purchase. There are two Subaru dealers in our area and the one we would not even consider. We were going to look at Faulkner Subaru first and then we were… going to a Honda dealer with another excellent review. In our discussions our salesman knew his product and treated Nancy my wife with respect and answered all her questions. Nancy did the most reading and she knew what she wanted. His name was Roland Zuk and in talking it came out he had sold Saturn's at a dealership I greatly trusted and we dealt with. We purchased our Subaru from Roland and we have been nothing but PLEASED WITH HIM AND FAULKNER SUBARU.Very fair Dealership!
by wrz0170 on 12/12/2010updated 06/06/2025I recently purchased the Outback 2.5i Limited from Faulkner and I think I got a pretty fair deal. Now I could've played the game and go back and forth between Becker and Faulkner and probably got another couple hundred knocked off. Only… thing was that Becker did not have the color I wanted. I figure if you are going to drive a car for 3-5 years or longer and spending the kind of money for an Outback, you should get EXACTLY what you want. After all, you will have to look at it every single day. Anyway, I actively emailed one of the salesman and asked for the best price. He came in well under what Edmunds said. I made an appointment and went for the test drive. My Salesman took the time to go through almost all points of the car, explaining Subuaru's AWD system to the more mundane features. The negotiations were done fairly quickly. He did go a couple hundred more than quote. Now the impressive part. I told him that my only request is that I did not want to be there all day doing paperwork. I arrived there at 10am and was driving off the lot at 1:15pm in my new Outback. He wasn't pushy about the up sale of the extended warranty and the other useless stuff. He is required to offer and I declined. He did not push it afterward. Only thing I can say is when I asked about if there are perks such as free inspections, he rambled and gave a strange answer as to why they don't offer free inspections. I will have to look into that further if they do or they don't. I also tried to push for either a tow package OR remote starter but he wouldn't budge. Not a negative or positive. Figured it was worth a shot. Overall, I had a very positive experience and would recommend them. I think they will give a fair deal without the big dealership hassle of BS sales games. In several months, I will see how their service is!vehicle was misrepresented
by kaka12 on 11/24/2012updated 06/06/2025We purchased a used vehicle from this dealer. The next morning, after we drove off their lot with our "new purchase", the check engine light came on. We found out it had transmission problems. Faulkner promised us that the problem would "be… handled" and they would cover the expense, we just wanted our sale voided since it was a less than 24 hours after the sale. Faulkner told us the car would have a new transmission , not to worry. The transmission was "fixed" in their words. Five months later the transmission went again. I tried contacting Faulkner and when they finally got back to me they washed their hands of it, told us "it was our problem" This company is very unprofessional, they are [non-permissible content removed], they are greedy businessmen that will do and say anything just to make a sale. Faulkner to be sure is their motto. It should say .. FAULKNER TO BE SURE TO [non-permissible content removed] EVERY CHANCE WE GETImpressed from NYC
by James_C on 01/31/2014updated 06/06/2025I had an excellent experience with Faulkner Subaru Bethlehem similar to that of "niedzwiedz". I had my mind made up on an Outback Premium w/ Moonroof package (after research and a test drive) and did some extensive online shopping in the… tristate NY area (I'm in NYC) trying to find the best quote I could. The initial quote I got from Bob G beat the offers I got from others without any back and forth. A dealership in my neighborhood told me they could match the offer from Faulkner and another much closer to me than PA came very close to the quote (and others said they can't match it and warned me that I'd be wasting my time if I drove there expecting to get the car for what I was quoted). So on a Saturday in September I set out to get my car (bringing my Father along for the fun). We went to the dealership in my neighborhood (Star Subaru - Bayside, NY) that was going to match the offer from Faulkner. When it came down to it, they weren't matching the offer at all. They now said they could give me the price I was quoted, but since they didn't have any Outback's in their inventory at the moment, they weren't sure what options it would come with when the stock came in and I would be responsible for the extra costs of whatever options the car arrived with. No guarantee of getting the car I wanted or the price I was given were obvious dealbreakers. We pressed on to the next dealership on my list (Town Subaru - Englewood, NJ) that I had received a quote for a specific Outback they had listed online that was very similar to the quote I got from Faulkner. When I arrived, I asked for the dealer I had worked with to get the quote (I was in contact with him the previous day) but he was off Saturday. I explained to the dealer that helped me which car I was looking for and that I worked online with the other dealer and he told me that the car I was quoted the price for was sold. I asked him when it was sold he told me earlier in the week. This upset me since I worked on a deal for a car they didn't have. The salesman tried to spin me towards other vehicles/options which upset me further. So after that experience I was a bit worked up and last on my list was the one furthest away, Faulkner, which closed at 5:00 on Saturday's. I put a call in to Bob when we started out for PA (it was around 2:30) to ensure that the car I wanted was still available (I hadn't emailed him since earlier in the week). He wasn't available so we took a leap of faith that it was and pressed on. Bob called back about an hour or so later and told me they still had the car and that he'll have it ready for me to test drive in the front of the dealership when I got there. We arrived about a quarter after 4 and Bob was extremely courteous, professional and friendly. We took a test drive and I was convinced I wanted the car feeling no pressure from him whatsoever. Everything was transparent in the pricing I was given and it was in-line with the quote I received. I didn't negotiate a trade-in beforehand, but my car was inspected and I received a fair offer for it so we made that a part of the transaction as well. I worked with Denis O for the financing portion of the sale while Bob got my new car ready for me (mind you this was past closing time for the dealership). Denis explained everything very well and did not push hard for extending the warranty or service contract. I felt very comfortable with everything I was signing and did not have any costs come out of left field after it was completed. Once that was done, I transferred my belongings from my old car to my new car which Bob had all ready for me. Bob gave me a run through of a lot of the features I should know about that we didn't cover on the test drive. He offered to connect my phone to the bluetooth system as well as anything else I might have needed help with. In the week that followed, Bob worked with me to help get my car registration done for New York (it was a little tricky because I was out of state and had a different address on my license and insurance). He was patient throughout and it was done correctly and in time. I admit I was likely a bit of a bugger to him at times but he never let me know it. This was a night and day difference from the dealership experiences I've had. I waited four months to post this review because I wanted to make sure there were no issues with the car or annoyances from the dealership. There are none to report. All is well, and I (along with my Father who was also impressed) will definitely take the trip back to Bethlehem when it's time for a new car.No nonsense
by lenlenhart on 04/15/2014updated 06/06/2025Last labor day, finding that the 2013 Outbacks were selling out quickly at all the local dealerships, I found that Faulkner still had a reasonable selection. I was quoted an online price that I thought reasonable, so after playing a little… phone tag (because of the holiday) I called and told them I wanted the car. When we arrived, they greeted me, saying the car was almost ready, so we went to work on the papers..... the sales manager quoted me $500 more than the online price I had gotten, but we straightened that out and everything went smoothly. No trade in, no pressure, and 0% financing for 4 years, since there was no further discount for cash. The salesman even met me near my home to straighten out a glitch in the paperwork, so I didn't have to drive to the dealership. Very happy with the car, and with all aspects of the sale.getting jerked around
by nedreyerson on 01/07/2013updated 06/06/2025Been getting jerked around for the past three weeks. They don't return phone calls at all and, for all I know, probably lost my car. Do yourself a favor and go anywhere else but here.Nice car, unhappy customer
by Downcountry on 06/27/2013updated 06/06/2025I was happy with the vehicle, although they didn't meet my trade in value. I am very unhappy with the follow on pressure during the financing phase to get me to take the ultra high profit exterior coating and the extension of the warranty… (neither of which I wanted to buy), which added thousands of dollars to the cost. I am a senior citizen who drives many miles per year so as to make the extension unwise. This after the sale treatment has caused me to enjoy my purchase less and has caused my first impression of Faulkner to sour. The same thing happened to me. I am waiting for a response from the dealer and subaru. I would bet that we are not the only people that this has happened to. If they tried to do this to us, how many others were do you think never even realized what they tried to do.....
