I made an appointment to look at a used vehicle. Upon arrival the Salesman acted as if he didn't know why I asked for him. After I explained why I was there he took my information to allow us to drive the vehicle. He departed and 25… minutes later returned, only to inform us that the vehicle wasn't at that dealership and in fact it was already sold . Why waste the time to set an appointment and my time traveling to purchase a vehicle that had already sold. If, was a bait and switch tacit. It's very unprofessional and in my mind dishonest. I will never recommend or set foot on another Sweeney dealership. We in fact was looking at second vehicle but it also was sold.
    • Thank you for leaving us this review, Linden. We strive to have every customer drive off our lot in a car they love, and it seems like the vehicle you were interested in was no longer available. If you’d like, we would be happy to find another vehicle to suit your needs. Please feel free to contact us if you have any other questions or inquiries. Take care. • Terrible place that’s willing to rip you off

1 out of 5 starsby David on 01/20/2021

What can I say besides, don’t buy a car from Jake Sweeney Chevrolet (JSC). For those of you looking for a quick read JSC will blatantly lie to you, miss advertises their cars, do not detail or inspect their cars, and will not return phone… calls. If I had to say one positive thing about my experience at JSC it would be that JSC does full up your gas tank before you leave the dealership, which I’m assuming is their bare minimum standard to seem like they care about their customers. Fortunately for me, my family has been buying or working for GM for +40 years so I was able to see through their lies but would like to inform other buyers so they can be cautious in their experiences at JSC. Firstly, I will comment on just how JSC will blatantly lie to your face and miss advertise their cars. I went to see a 2017 Cadillac CTS with 3600 miles on it. Fortunately, in a thorough check over, I realized that the car was advertised with over 8000 miles missing from the actual odometer reading (actual mileage was +44000). I was told the $500 they took off the sticker price, which was originally for me “coming in” to JSC, was sufficient for the mileage difference as they did not want the price of the car to reflect the actual mileage of the car. After the pricing and mileage debacle it came time for me to ask about extended warranties. Be careful when buying a extended warranty from JSC as they WILL NOT tell you who you are getting the warranty through until you sign everything. I don’t live in Cincinnati and will be unable to fully use their dealership warranty so I asked for a GMEPP/ GMPP warranty. I originally was told that the finance manager will tell me more about the warranty. After pushing more I was told that GMPP is “not a thing” which is a blatant lie (I will add a link to GM’s web site at the end of the review). After calling them on this the narrative changed to my “Cadillac does not offer GMPP” which also is a blatant lie. I also called them on this lie, then found out that JSC does not offer GM warranties because of their dealership warranty. Finally, after arriving at the finance managers office he reviewed the warranty information with me and I realized that JSC “GMPP equivalent warranty” was actually $2600 of useless exclusive warranties, in other words, it includes everything except a very long list of essential vehicle items (excluded coils, plugs, headlights.. etc). I was told that the $2600 warranty was bumper to bumper which was a lie. My car clearly was not detailed or inspected before being sold. Unfortunately for me, I test drove and bought at night so I did not notice all of the splashes on the steering wheel, on the dash board, the door handles being dirty, and clearly no cleaning was done around the center console of the car. To my surprise when I drove the car the morning after I bought it, I also had to clean and sweep the car. This was very annoying as I had just spent over $25000 for a dirty car. I guess this should not have been a surprise with all of the other events, but the first time I drove in the rain, I also had to stop at Auto Zone for some new windshield wipers. I tried to call the sales manager to see if they would detail the car, get me wiper blades, or even just discuss what they could do to try and repair our relationship however, I missed his call one time and he hasn’t returned or answered any of my 3 calls and messages. How am I supposed to think that your service department will take care of my car (if you want to keep the dealer warranty intact you have to do ALL of your service at JSC), if you can’t even take care of the car before you sell it? Overall, I will not buy another vehicle or have my car serviced at JSC because they quite clearly only care about their bottom line and not the car or the customer buying the car. This was my first vehicle/ GM purchase and even with my family’s long lineage with GM, I likely bought my first and last GM because of Jake Sweeney Chevrolet.

  • Don’t waste your time

    2 out of 5 starsby Victoria C on 06/29/2020

I recently bought a 2017 High Altitude Jeep Patriot from Jake Sweeny at what I thought was a good price. Even with the discount on my car, it's not worth the hassle of doing business with this shady dealership. I had done research online… and decided to buy the Patriot for the package it was equipped with, including remote start and keyless entry. I wasn’t aware until I got home ‪around 9:00‬ that night, after waiting 3 hours to speak with someone in finance, that I had only been given a spare key and not the key fob so that I could use the features that made me choose the Jeep to begin with. When I asked the sales guy I had worked with what we could do about getting me a key fob I was told that the dealership could make me one “at cost”; the key fob would be $160 and the programming fee would be $50. (I spoke with another dealership that told me they could do a key plus the programming for $150). I decided that physically going to the dealership would be the best way to actually get something done about it. I spoke with a different salesperson who informed me the manager was too busy to talk with me, but would give me a call ‪Monday morning‬ and would make it right. I spoke with Ryan McMain, the used car sales manager, who told me he would be willing to split the cost of the key fob, but that it would still cost me $100. After explaining to him that I would have gladly paid for a fob if I had known while I was there originally there, but since it wasn’t negotiated as part of the cost I would like to have one provided as it should have been in the first place. He told me he understood but they simply couldn’t do that. An argument ensued and finished with Ryan telling me he was done and practically hanging up on me. In my opinion this is ludicrous, a reasonable person would expect that their 3-year-old vehicle advertised with remote start and keyless entry would come standard with a key fob to use those features. A reasonable person would also expect for the dealership to take their customer satisfaction seriously. I assured Ryan that I would make sure to let as many people as I could know that Jake Sweeny Chevrolet is shady, to which he responded “make sure you let them know what a great deal you got on that car too”, shortly before hanging up on me. So, People of Yelp, I’d like to let you know exactly what sort of “great deal” I got on my car. I paid $15,000, a pretty standard price for this car, but by no means a “great” deal. At the time of signing I also paid a $250 dealership fee, $300 for a warranty package I was told was included. Now I’ll have to shell out another $100, at least, for a key fob and I’ll have to pay to get the car detailed because Jake Sweeny didn’t bother to make sure the car was cleaned before it left the lot. All in all, this ended up not being the good deal I thought I was getting, and certainly not the great deal they want me to believe I got. Don’t waste your time and money with these [non-permissible content removed].

  • Jake Sweeney Service Running a Scam

1 out of 5 starsby PissedOff on 01/20/2020

I brought my car in for a 50k service. I told Tiffany about a wheel sensor that has been out for 1.5 years. She would get me a price on one. Well after leaving there, none of my wheel pressure sensors work now. I had no issues for 1.5… years, then I bring it there and now none work. She also told me the same thing happened to 2 other people the day before me. then she said if I bought the 1 sensor it would probably fix them all. Sounds like a scam when I had no issues before. I had rotated tires before, but now they dont work.

I highly recommend buying here ! I got an incredible deal on our purchase through Tim Bowman, he made this a fun process not stressful or scary! He made sure we got exactly what we wanted. I cannot begin to explain how helpful Sales… Manager Mike Thom has been with my whole experience. They've been so helpful, honest, and upfront with the entire process! I purchased a 2014 GMC Sierra SLT last month and we'll never EVER work with anyone else in the future! The effort they made to make sure my truck was in great condition & how fast they acted on my concerns I couldn't ask for better people to work with. Mike sincerely cared about my family & making sure we we're happy during the entire process. THANK YOU, THANK YOU!! (Also Mike in service you can fix anything! You were so kind to me thank you again guys!!)

Went in for an engine light issue. 2 issues were found, 1 of which a part needed to be ordered. Mike Adams said he would order the part and I should make an appointment to come back (couple days and the cost would be $200+). I made an… appointment for a week later and when I went in the part wasn't in and no one knew what I needed. I said I was told there was a pinhole in a gasket connected to the radiator. They then ordered a part and I went in the next week to get the work done. I don't think I received the right part or service because the work came to about $50, the visit was just over $100 because I had them change my engine air filter. I am renting a car to drive on vacation because my confidence in what was done is very shakey. It just seemed that Mike Adams dropped the ball as no one else knew anything about what was going on with my car.

5 out of 5 starsby DennisJK on 04/29/2017

I recently purchased a Toyota Tundra from James Eshleman at Jake Sweeney in Tri County. James was very knowledgeable about the truck I was interested in and was truly helpful in my decision to buy. Purchasing was very straight forward… process. I recommend this dealership.
  • Ripped off Vette

Called dealer on corvette Z06 convertible- calling dealer from Minnesota and spoke with Donnie Young on 11/26 who told me it was owners car who had it for the weekend and it would be back at dealership. He assured me dealer was very… careful with his cars and he just wanted to make sure car would be back on Monday and i would fly to Cincinnati 11/30 so they could have it cleaned and deliverable. He contacted one of owners of dealership and assured me it would be back Monday so I bought one-way airplane tickets there with lodging. Asked if he needed anything like CC or wire from me he said we were good. Called at 830 am 11/28 and reconnected and gave him my corporate EIN tax code, SSI, and Copy of DL via text and email. He told me I'd need to bring Cashiers check which I said I would. 2 hours later i get a call from him that someone either in or connected to dealership wants the car and it is not available after taking all my personal info. It wasn't til 530 pm that Fred Manegold (who was nice but unable to do anything) got back to me to say there was no purchase agreement and this "new" customer bought it today. He says he'd like to make it right but there are none like that on market so I find it highly unlikely. If you are OUT of STATE or distant buyer don't trust them -Do not make plans or spend money to go there. They will sell it out from under you and take your private information. I will update this review if they ever are descent to me, make up travel expense loss or come through. I am a physician held to high standards personally/professionally and have described this to seperate Cadillac and GMC dealers I know and they have never heard of anything like it. Chevrolet customer relations was worthless and explained dealerships are all independent so don't expect much from them. I had this week off to find my dream car and it was stolen... I am not sure I ever even want a corvette again after all I have learned and experienced. I lost time off paying another physician to cover my practice, airline and hotel expenses, and all my private information. They gave a weak sign they might help me probably too late to even drive it home this winter. They wouldn't accept CC or wire or check by phone cuz "they didn't need it" but when an insider wanted it they ask me if there was a purchase agreement - told I didn't need one- gave my personal and company information and just have unusable one-way airline ticket purchased before their "sale". DO NOT GO OUT OF YOUR WAY TO BUY FROM THEM!
  • Not to be trusted

1 out of 5 starsby CATHAMMER on 12/07/2014

Out of state cash buyer for a used Corvette in low sales season. Had deal & everything arranged, including non-refundable tickets for transportation, car rental, independent inspection, and a quite large cashier's check. All this info… conveyed to dealer on Friday. They were supposed to hold for one day for my arrival Monday. Saturday, I get a call telling me it's been sold. I guess I should just be happy I didn't arrive there Monday & find out then. The individual salesman, Jason, I dealt with was nice. Can not recommend dealing with an outfit that treats customers this way. Nearby McClusky Chevrolet has a good reputation among Corvette owners, as well as for service, so if you're looking in the area, it may well be in your interest to deal with them, instead of Sweeney.
  • BEWARE OF THIS DISHONEST UNPROFESSIONAL DEALERSHIP!

    1.2 out of 5 starsby erica10 on 08/12/2010

I ADVISE anyone looking for a car to buy from a dealer..STAY CLEAR OF THIS PLACE! The salesmen are rude and very very unhelpful! I was lied to about being qualified and them taking my vehicle as down payment.Mind you I was in communication… with these folks(ANTONIO WALLACE) for a whole week straight and they ran my credit report and job history told me i was fine and just to come up with 200 dollars for insurance and they'd even knock off $500 since the 1st salesman had gotton smart with me(CLARENCE). And i'd drive off with my new vehicle. My car was currently broken down so i had a friend drop me off and i had to catch a $50 cab back to the city! The buses were no longer running! What some [violative content deleted] salesmen they have there..PLEASE GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!! The last guy Rodney seen me about to break down in tears&simply said "THAT'S WHAT WE DO,WE TELL EVERYBODY JUSTY COME OUT HERE REGARDLESS!"and then said "I DON"T KNOW WHY YOU MAD AT ME FOR"..BE AFRAID BE VERY AFRAID OF THIS DISHONEST DEALERSHIP!!
