  • Worst experience I ever had in a dealer

    I went the other day to get an appraisal on my car. The sales representative Frank treated me indifferently. He showed little interest in listening to me and showed no respect. That’s exact the opposite from what they behaved when I was trying to buy a car there. This was a really unpleasant experience and I would never visit this dealer again.

  • One Bright Light

    My CR-V was in for a recall. So I am going to assume they fixed whatever it was. I am going to assume they did the oil change. They did washed and waxed my car but did not buff all the polish out. They also scratched my door. So I had to come out 2x's to the dealer to fix the scratches and was not compensated for gas. 82 miles out of my way for a mistake caused by them. I should have been compensated and I am not happy that I wasn't. They over inflated my front tires to 35 psi & did not recalibrate. I don't like the fact that the you cannot watch the mechanics work on your car. I don't like that the mechanic who works on your car doesn't come out to talk to you about what he did. Might be something to think about changing. There is a disconnect between the parent company Honda's email system and Rensselaer Honda. I received an email from Honda the parent company stating my car was ready to be picked up when really my car was to be delivered to me. This caused unnecessary confusion & anxiety & I had to call to make sure my car would be delivered to me. In dealing with the service dept I dealt with Nicole. She was excellent. She was extremely professional yet very human with a great sense of humor. Communication was also excellent. She took her time to explain and answer any questions I had. Greg the general manager stated he would also take care of the small dents in the bummer which I believe he knew full well that you can't buff out dents in plastic. I am not happy with being told something just to appease me. Not a good practice.

  • No transparency

    They took the keys to my trade and were reluctant to give them back. They refused to show me the numbers and kept us there for 3 hours.

    I bought my Honda Accord in 2005 from Rensselaer Honda. From the very beginning this dealership has always gone above and beyond what is expected, I can honestly say they care about their customers. They’ve actually driven in the car with me to hear the ‘noise’ I was hearing or stayed on the phone until I got to a gas station when my check engine light came on just to make sure I was okay.

    I purchased 2 cars from Rensselaer Honda. My current car that I purchased from Rensselaer Honda is being serviced for a mechanical issue. What I didn't appreciate was thee lack of customer service I received. I called my agent/representative 3 times, to only speak to him once who then informed me it would take a month for my part to come in. OK, things happen. What I found out later from someone is that I should have been asked or told about a loaner car. I'm unsatisfied because I have been a customer with Rensselaer Honda for years. I purchased cars, I had repairs done, oil changes, therefore, I have been a loyal customer to come to this. I am very unsatisfied. My next car will most likely be a Honda, but not purchased from Rensselaer Honda. It's a shame that when you spend your money with a company, you don't matter or it matters who you are!

    My daughter and I went to get a Civic and at first they seemed very nice and helpful, they said they ran the numbers and even sent a email to my daughter that said she was approved. We agreed on a price and made a down payment and were told to come back the next afternoon to finalize the paperwork. But when my daughter came back the next day, all of a sudden her credit was not so good now and "they could still get the car for her" but it would be an extra $50 a month. We ended up going to another Honda dealership a few days later and had absolutely no problem and the other Dealership even said the tactics that Rensselaer Honda used was a "Bait and switch" .

    The 2016 Honda Civic EX was initially located online via the Rensselaer Honda website. When I arrived, I was greeted with a smile. We looked over the automobile, reviewed the vehicle history report, and performed a test drive. Since this 2016 Honda Civic was about $2000 below a similar vehicle at another dealer in Scotia and $300 below a similar vehicle in Northampton MA, I did not hesitate to lock in the purchase. Everyone involved in the sales process was attentive and great to work with. I will keep Rensselaer Honda in mind when I am ready for my next Honda vehicle.

Mark is a very knowledgeable person on the automobiles that he sells, he is very personable, and very easy to work with. He steered me to make a better choice of a car model due to the reasons that I discussed with him while shopping for a used vehicle. I could not be happier with my purchase or experience with Mark. Our sales department is open Monday through Thursday from 9:00 – 8:00, Friday and Saturday from 9:00 – 5:00
