5 out of 5 starsby Julio on 05/11/2025

I posted a 3 star review previously, but I'd like to upgraded to a 5 stars. I understand that there were mistakes done form MB Service, and even maybe from me, but the service manager called me and gave me a sincere apology. I think that takes a lot of guts, even though is the right thing to do, but in today's society this kind of business considerations almost is extinct, and I do appreciate when I see a business that understands and accepts when there is an issue and how to fix it. Thank you MB Service for taking care of the issue that triggered my initial bad review. Sincerely, Julio
  • Not worth it! Don't service your car there

The email below I sent twice to the manager of MB Smithtown service. I think is a disgrace for a large prestigious entity not to have the courtesy of at least answer my complaint. That tells me that they rather keep steeling from costumers that don't care ho much the service cost, than face the music and deal with an unhappy costumer. Just find a good service shop and do not take it to MB service. Never again , is not worth it. Dear Manager, I'd love to make this short, but I'm not sure if a can. Today, I had an issue with the vehicle start stop, and coincidentally I needed a service B. I ask my service counselor to find out how much would cost as I have Endurance insurance and wanted to know how much the repair will cost out of pocket. I told him, I know that the service B won't be cover, but because he needed to go back to me, I just waited for his call. After a couple of hours he told me that Endurance will only cover around half, because Mercedes-Benz charges more than what Endurance covers. Only then I ask, how much is the service B cost, he told me over $1000 (I don't remember the actual number he gave me, but was over $1000). So I said, forget it, I can't afford to pay 50% of the repair and the service, I'll pick up the car and I'll pay the diagnostic which he told me is $245. So I pay, walk outside, and noticed Ive been charged $1341.04... I run back to the service counselor and tell him why I was charged for the service, I specifically said I can't pay for it. He argued with me telling that he mention that the service cost $1300, but that is not true. When I was on the phone with him, I ask him how much was it, he did not know, he put me on hold for 2 minutes, and found out and told me will cost over $1000 (again don't remember the exact number he mention) , so immediately I said, I can't do it, is too much. Here is the thing, when I was at the office paying, I was sure I was paying only the diagnostic as I did know the cost, nothing else, he did not tell me what I was paying and gave me the paid invoice after it was paid (and no credit card receipt). This I what I call a legal scam, first what kind of oil change can cost $1300? what is a 500% profit? A glorified oil change I'd call it. But the fact that it was done without my consent is what really eats me. I was shocked to see that I was scammed into a glorified oil change. At this point not only that I'd Never take my car again to service, I'd make sure by writing reviews all over the internet (MB reviews, BBB, Yelp, and consumers report to start) , not to get scammed on services, to double and triple check what you paying, and better not to take the car to Mercedes Benz service, as they will do the service, forcing you to pay afterwards, as the service was done. I've never felt this bad, never got scammed from an entity that you supposed to trust. Sincerely Julio Yacub Update May 2025: I want to update the review that I left below. The assistant manager Of MB service contacted me and offer an apology for the misunderstanding. I appreciate that and offer them to review my original post. I still not sure why the assistant manager called and not the manager. I guess this incident was too small for him to address it. Anyway, I will update this review to a three star from my original one star. The email below I sent twice to the manager of MB Smithtown service. • The "Robbin Hood" of Mercedes Dealers

1 out of 5 starsby MarkR on 12/10/2022

This dealership is dishonest and discriminatory! I ordered a car from them in July. When the car arrived in November, they told me I had to pay $15,000 OVER the sticker price for the car. If the dealership had been honest and told me they were price gouging cars, I would simply have gone to another dealer and ordered the car. But they did not tell me about this bogus charge until the car arrived at the dealership!! At my age of 80 years, I couldn't afford to wait another 5 months for a car. I think they took advantage of me because of my age, as well. They kept me waiting in the dealership for more than 8 hours. Caveat Emptor! Buyer Beware! I would not do business with this sleazy dealership. In my 60 years of buying and leasing vehicles I have never been cheated or taken advantage of by any other dealer! Avoid this dealership unless you are prepared to be cheated! Truly disgraceful behavior. I hope this posting saves other purchasers for having such a nasty experience.

Because you are Chinese and you buy car by cash. You need to add 10k to buy a car or gtfo. This is the funniest joke I heard this year, except it's not a joke. I checked the calendar and it's 2016, not 1980.
  • "poor management communication"

    1 out of 5 starsby sergio2016 on 06/24/2015

"poor management communication" I bought my ML 350 from this dealer on February 2015 , sales person and financial manager called all the time to close the deal and to offer ridicule expensive extended warranties and extras . After I was sold an undisclosed smoker car , they replaced it with a newer one at a more costlier price. Well, we finally closed on the new deal and it was very clear from day one that the vehicle was a company car and the finance and title should be under the company name for liability and tax reasons . As soon as the title arrived from DMV 30 days later , it was under my personal name , I called the sales person and he told me he would take care of it and someone would call me . 2 weeks later still nobody called me . I went personally to the dealer with a copy of the title , gave it to the sales guy , he told me he would take care of it . 2 month later still nobody called me . I called a month ago again and the receptionist took my info and told me that someone would call me to take care of it . A month later still nobody called me . I went to the dealer last week for service and tired of this title issue , I approached the financial manager at his back office , he seemed little irritated that I showed up unannounced , with a not so friendly face he took my information in a piece of paper while continuing taking care of something on his computer screen , he told me someone will call me and he dispatched me without any courtesy , leaving me with the impression he was doing more important things than my 5 month old unresolved concern . Well , a week later , still nobody called me to resolve the title issue of my Benz to be put on under my company name . I guess I will have to go to the local DMV this week to take care of the title myself on my own time and expense plus taking time off from work . Service department is awesome and they bend backwards for you ,but sales , management and office personnel are terrible , you will not heard from them after the sale , and you always have to call several times to resolve issues , so if you have a paper work problem or issues , well .... good luck , you are on your own . Bad experience for me , I would go somewhere else to buy a Benz and service the car here later , just my two cents

  • "Check Engine" light on.

5 out of 5 starsby saadutr on 10/17/2008

LONG STORY SHORT, THIS WAS A GREAT EXPERIENCE AND I COMPLETELY RECOMMEND THIS DEALER TO ANYONE. Ok, so I went to the Mercedes of Smithtown dealership on Wednesday because to deal with my Check Engine light. I went into the service department without an appointment and when I got up to the front desk, the receptionist enthusiastically asked me what was wrong with my car today. I told her my check engine light was on and she said I would have to make an appointment. So she made me an appointment for Friday at around 10am. That was actually a perfect appoinment. When Friday came, I went back to the dealership and I told the same receptionist I had an appointment. She said that she would get me to a service advisor and I could wait in the waiting room, which by far exceeds any standards of a waiting room, especially for a car dealership. So about twenty minutes later the service advisor called me back and got me ready for the diagnostic test. He clearly told me the estimated time of waiting and the price of the diagnostic alone and I was fine with that. About two hours later, they were done with the diagnostic and told me I needed to repair an oxygen sensor or something like that. This time my cars actual service advisor came out and described everything clearly, he also gave me the total it would come out to. Again, I was fine with that. About an hour later, they said it was all done and I had to pay at the service desk. The price the receptionist said was exactly the same as what the mechanic said. For some reason, I was expecting her to give me a higher price. This dealership completely satisfied me from my first step into the waiting room to driving off the lot. I will go back to this dealership only for my future service needs.
