We came in and bought an ML350, then sent my son to buy a fully loaded E350 Coup. Tim worked with my son to find & order him the exact car he… wanted. He kept in touch via emails to keep us up to date on the cars arrival. We picked it up 2 nights ago, and he made the experience so exciting. He took the time to explain all of the car's features, with plenty of patience. Now, we're coming back to buy a smart car. Tim suggested we take a look, without being pushy. That's what makes us come back to him to buy more cars. I don't know how many mercedes cars we'll end up buying because of him! What a great kid, I hope he goes far...Easy to get a Benz
by maljon on 02/25/2014updated 06/02/2025Dealing with Matt K. was as simple, clear cut, enjoyable and stress free as it can get. If the price wasn't good I wouldn't have purchased the car. That being said I was duly impressed with the number he was able to work out. Additionally… his associate Paul Sanger was very helpful in explaining & demonstrating the copious features the car has during the delivery phase of the sale. It is pretty certain that my next Mercedes I will get from Matt at Ray Catena in Edison.A great sales rep

by xshin on 03/05/2013updated 06/02/2025The salesperson, David W., was phenomenal - he had been working with me even several months before I decided to order the car. He was very patient and helpful throughout the entire process, and helped me place my order in December of last… year. Even though I have a short credit history and we faced many obstacles in getting me approved, he worked tirelessly with MB Finance and with several managers to allow me to get the car I've been wanting for the right price and payment plan. What's more, he automatically reduced the price to a very satisfactory amount (almost down to invoice), without me even mentioning any sort of price cut. As this was a special-order from the factory, I already knew I wouldn't have too much leverage when negotiating price; however, he took the negotiation out of the equation and cut the price without any prompting on my part. When I was taking delivery, he already had all the paperwork processed and ready - he was extremely efficient and professional, and significantly enhanced my buying experience. Further, he even had the General Manager and the owner of the entire chain of dealerships come over to speak to me and to congratulate me personally. The General Manager even went as far as to give me a free keychain + all-weather floor mats from the Parts Department (I even get free car washes for life at the Service Department)! When I tried to thank him for the favors in helping me get approved and also for the free gifts, he refused my thanks and instead turned around and sincerely thanked me for my business. My salesperson and also another gentleman (not sure which department he was in) were extremely thorough in walking me through the many features on my new car, and before I drove off, David even went as far as to give the interior of the car a final wipe-down, as he wanted to ensure it was perfectly clean for me. The people at Ray Catena in Edison truly went above and beyond for me even though: 1) I took several months to even decide I wanted the car, 2) I'm only 23, and 3) While the C350 is a truly wonderful car, it is definitely not the most expensive car they sell. One of the other salespeople walking around in the building asked me, possibly jokingly, if I was a famous celebrity. While I am quite obviously not, every single person at Ray Catena made me feel like I was. I apologize for the long essay on the dealership experience, but they truly went out of their way to ensure I had the greatest experience possible, and I will definitely be recommending them to everyone I know. As far as the car goes, the interior is superb - very technologically advanced and very luxurious and premium as well. I wish the seatbelts were a little farther forward so I could reach them more easily, but that's honestly my only issue with the car. The transmission is responsive, and I'm not experiencing any lag or slowness with the pedal response (I drove a Nissan 350Z prior to this car, and if anything, this car seems to be more responsive). All the features work very well and are very intuitive to operate, while the exterior is simply magnificent. As a reviewer of this car said on YouTube, this car isn't measured in miles per hour - it's more about the smiles per hour, and from the moment I see my car to the moment I can't see my car anymore (and even after actually), I am constantly smiling. Great job Mercedes-Benz for making this car, and excellent job to Ray Catena Mercedes-Benz of Edison for making my buying experience so wonderful!Passion and Professionalism

My transaction was nothing but professional and I was provided with a wealth of information so that I could discover what was best for me. No pushing or influencing, just passion and facts. I was planning to buy a different brand, but my wife had suggested that I try other cars competing in the same class. So I just pulled in to see what they had to offer… and to take a test drive. Fast forward (so to speak), I eventually bought my first Mercedes, and I am very pleased. Aside from the car itself, Ravi M. was the reason why I chose a Mercedes and Ray Catena. He listened well and showed me several options that fit my needs and budget. He was very friendly, professional and responsive, not pushy nor aloof like some other car salespersons that had encountered over the years. I eventually bought the first car Ravi showed me, which is rare for me, but not until I looked at others on the lot and at other cars and dealers. Ravi and Ray Catena Mercedes won my business. She… was extremely communicative via phone and email throughout the sales process and handled everything remotely for me so that I could drive down to Edison from upper Bergen County and pick up my car the same day. The receptionist and Leigh asked our names and were very pleasant and accommodating offering us and our daughter a cold or hot… beverage. We were directed to the car selection we were interested in as we waited for our sales associate John F. As not to keep us waiting, Timothy A. did a wonderful job assisting us with a few selections along with setting us up with a test drive until John finished with another customer. John accompanied us with two test drives, unfortunately we had to leave abruptly upon return to the dealership and told John that we would contact him within a few days. My husband noted to me that there was no pressure by John to stay and speak the the manager; a practice experienced at other dealerships. My daughter and I returned a few days later and Leigh greeted us by name and again was very pleasant, accommodating and personable. I told John that I was't really satisfied with the selection in the dealership and expressed what I was looking for, he did a search of off site vehicles, found one that matched my requirements and within 20-30 min a service technician delivered the vehicle to the dealership. We went for a test drive and I was sold! We came back that weekend to finalize the purchase and Timothy did a wonderful job assisting us again as John was working with another customer. My husband handled most of that as I sat with my daughter and her friend in the reception area. As time passed, Robert A., the General Sales Manager came over, said my name along with a "Congratulations." I had never met him but was pleasantly surprised with the gesture. There are more accolades to be told but I think my point has been made. We had a very pleasant experience at Ray Catena Mercedes Benz of Edison and would highly recommend this dealership! Oh, the best part was John delivered "my" E350C to our home...and greeted my daughter by name...Thank you John, Timothy, Leigh and Robert for a great car buying experience!!Excellent dealership

I… immediately felt I was in good hands, valued and by no means pressured as I perused the showroom floor for new and pre-owned vehicles. Derrick Fox was my Sales Representative. He was patient, answered all of my questions, listened to my concerns, and understood my budget parameters without missing a beat. I took my first test drive ever in a Mercedes Benz and I was sold. Derrick began asking what color and amenities I preferred, he checked inventory and need I say more. My new car was available. The one-stop shopping with Derrick from introductions to processing and signing the required paperwork was not to be believed. As most car buyers, we are shuffled from one person to the next. This did not happen at Ray Catenas dealership. Within a five hour window I shopped, I drove and I purchased my first Mercedes Benz. The wow factor was that it was prepped and ready for me to take ownership the same day. Talk about giving a new meaning to customer service!Amazing Experience...

This is my second Mercedes and I traveled 50mins. to buy from this team. So accommodating - another dealer was competing for my business and this… team handled it so great, John educated me and really worked through the numbers with me so I could make a comfortable informative decision. I had my 10 yr old son with me and they spoiled him (they know how to get to a mothers heart)! Even when he got antsy, they made it seem like no problem. I also have to mention the front desk team... was so pleasant. Overall, all that you would expect from a Mercedes Dealer and then some... professional, polite, considerate, kind and Thoughtful. At one point after we were done with our deal - I thought for a moment, "maybe I want a different color?", and still Gary said; "If you want it, we will change it!"
