by Paga2222 on 11/03/2017Pros: The sales representative, Jake Hare, was very responsive to e-mails and phone calls. The purchase went smoothly and quick. It started with a 30 minute chat about the car, then a short test drive, followed by 40 minutes… negotiations. The whole purchase was done within 90 minutes (so I thought; see below). Cons: Although I had scheduled a test drive and the dealership knew I was coming, the car was not cleaned. The interior had coffee stains etc. Although the actual car purchase was smooth (see above), what followed afterwards was annoying. After I had already signed all the required paperwork for buying the car, I had to spend another 2 hours at the dealership. The time was filled with various meetings with various people trying to sell additional warranties, products, upgrades etc etc etc in addition to asking me to sign various additional documents and even some of the same documents that I had already signed during the purchase agreement. In between those one-on-one meetings there was typically idle times of 15-20 minutes. I rather would have spent those 2 hours celebrating my new car or calling my insurance company. In fact, due to wasting time at the dealership I had to postpone the call with insurance for a day, which ultimately resulted in a 3 day delay of picking up the car. This was a certified pre-owned car. When I picked it up it had significant damage at one of the rims. I hadnt picked it up when I test drove the car. On the plus side, Herb Chambers agreed to fix it for free. On the con side, if they do this out of courtesy, why not doing it before selling the car. The car was washed when I picked it up. Just as a minor comment: I bought 2 BMWs before. When those cars were washed at BMW, they were spotless. In comparison, the Porsche wash was a bit sloppy (no washing underneath the rear wing; no cleaning within interior compartments). This is no big deal but small details sometimes count as well.We really appreciate your feedback about your experience with Jake. First-Class Team/Excellent Sales Experience!
by CCaffarella on 10/08/2017We just received our 5th Porsche, a 2018 Macan S in jet black metallic with black, garnet red, carbon fiber and brushed aluminum interior, from Herb Chambers Porsche of Boston. We prefer to custom order our Porsche's, although the… in-stock selection is quite extensive and perusing the cars and SUVs is a great way to learn about the brand. Order time ranges from 2-1/2 to 6-months depending on particular vehicle demand. The order process is simple and quite fun, just build your vehicle on the porsche.com website, save the build, visit Rick Scourtas, Sales Manager at Herb Chambers Porsche of Boston, and put down a small deposit. Rick reassigned one of their allocations to us and altered the scheduled options to match our selections. He kept us aware of the progress, including the paint date, build date, transport ship, port arrival, and dealer delivery. There are various Porsche forums the provide details on how to track the ship as it makes its journey across the pond. More about Rick Scourtas: pretty much a legend in the Porsche business; 37 years with Porsche, previously General Manager of Herb Chambers Porsche of Boston, and a Brand Ambassador. To say he knows Porsche would be a silly understatement; being with the brand so long he has direct contacts and can get up-to-date info, quite important when you're excited about your new arrival. Upon delivery, Rick arranged for our inspection sticker, care and preparation of the vehicle, and walked us through everything, even though this is our second Macan. Just spending time talking with Rick makes for an enjoyable experience. We also met Fahad Arshad, General Manager, who is pleasant and eager to offer any assistance needed. We were very impressed with the other staff as well, from warm greetings, to holding doors open, and offering our family beverages and snacks, the whole experience was first-class. We HIGHLY RECOMMEND Herb Chambers Porsche of Boston, Rick Scourtas, and Fahad Arshad! Also, Christopher Brustus, thanks for handling our paperwork, Joe Rondinelli, who arranged our loaner Macan and heads up the service department, and Davit Petrosyan, who has scheduled our routine maintenance needs over the years. He listened to my concerns, even brought the porsche to my house so my wife could see it. Never… any pressure. When we decide to buy, he got me in touch with Eric, business manager, who spent s lot of time with us going over our options. We were really happy with the outcome. We were looking for a pre-owned Cayenne that we had seen online, and the process went smoothly. The car was waiting… for us out front, all warmed up, and ready for a test drive. We wanted a day to think about this large purchase, and the salesman and manager were respectful of our decision to think about it, they did not push us. Perhaps the economy is making everyone lose their self repsect and principles. I made and offer of $45K for a 2008 Cayman S, VIN… WP0AB29878U780246, to sales rep Josh Morrison. He checked with his Manager and called me back40 mines after 9am to say they had accepted the offer as long as I bought the car that day. I provided a credit card over the phone for the deposit and provided my details as well as thedtaisl for my pre-approved financing. done deal nice and easy. Two hours later I get a call from Josh Morrison to say that George Chambers had arrived at work and woud not honor the dela made earlier that morning by his sales rep and general manager. They offered me the same car without the Porsche certified warranty for 6 years and 100k miles whic was part fo the deal. In fac the car is liste do ntheir website as a certified sales. I obviously could not accept being deceivd and declined the deal. I am still a bit shocked and confused that Porsche could allow such tactics to exist in their delaer network. this is the second horrible experience I have had in 5 days with two dealerships the other being Porsche of Stratham NH. I have decided that Porsche has no honorable dealers and will not purchase a Porsche this year if ever.Bubba. No Honor...? Posting names of dealership employees while remaining anonymous. Holding, what seems like, two seperate dealerships hostage until you got what you wanted. (It appears your pledge not to do business with this dealership was short lived.) As a consumer, I hold no value in your statements. Furthermore, I believe this website should consider the removal of ALL of your postings, as they seem to only be a means to get what you want. You have also violated guidelines by posting contact information. I hope you never purchase anything from any of my stores. You are the type of customer I can afford to lose. I just wanted to update this comment ion Herb chambers. I received a call frmo Herb chambers shortly after writing this review to say they would honor their original deal of $45K with the 100K mile Porsche Assured warranty. I thought about it for a day and accepted to move ahead and purchased the Cayman S. Everything went smoothly after this second acceptance adn I have owned the car for a week and am very happy with my decision.
