the deal they tell you and what you get are greatly exaggerated. dont bother trading a car in .it takes a sales team to sell a car then a mgr to squash the deal due to his own greed typical [non-permissible content removed] beware!!
  • Great dealership, friendly employees, would buy from again!

    5 out of 5 starsby nykoli71 on 11/16/2010

I purchased a used Pontiac Bonneville from this dealership. The salesman Tony was extremely helpful and very knowledgeable. He made our buying experience very easy from start to finish. I would not hesitate to visit this dealer again for my next vehicle purchase. Joe StGermain the general manager was also very courteous in assisting with my purchase. I also wanted to thank Kristin for her help assisting me with this purchase.
  • Friendly and Helpful

Ziegler was very friendly and patient with me even though I was not able to buy a car that day. I came in to geek and dream over a HEMI Challenger and even though I am not in a position to buy one of those today, they were still willing to answer all my questions and point me in the right direction. I only went home with a brochure and a build sheet but when I do buy a Challenger it'll be from Ziegler

After hearing my friends' horror stories about buying cars, I felt I had to let people know what a great experience I had at Zeigler Chrysler Dodge and Jeep of Schaumburg. My salesman, Phil, was very knowledgeable, professional and helpful. I love my Charger and will definitely be back when it is time to buy a new car. I also go there for all of my service needs! I have told all of my friends that they need to go to Zeigler in the future. They won't have any horror stories after that.
  • Warning! Run...fast!

My husband and I had the absolute worst car buying experience at Zeigler Chrysler Dodge dealership on Golf Rd in Schaumburg! We went in eager to buy and hopeful for a positive experience based on our 1st day talks with saleswoman Margaret and manager Lou. We did a test drive, got hard numbers crunched, and said we'd return to buy after sleeping on it. Well, long story short, the next day was a nightmare. A different manager, NICK KENNEDY, appeared the next day and refused to honor any of the previous quotes given by their manager in marker the night before--literally THEIR writing and THEIR paperwork in our hands. Furthermore, they attempted a "Bait & Switch" where they tried passing off a different, lesser model of our discussed car in negotiations. As for saleswoman Margaret Oleksy, I can not say for certain as to the degree of her dishonesty or ignorance, but she certainly lacked in professionalism and customer satisfaction. The worst, however, was the APPALLING, CONDESCENDING, AGGRESSIVE, and ANGRY switch in tone, behavior, and demeanor. It was incredulous! When we told the General Manager, JOE ST. GERMAIN that our experience was the the most horrible ever--assuming to gain concern and inquiry--we were FURTHER treated condescendingly! Never, ever an apology by any of these [violative content deleted]! Well the ordeal was horrific and I can go on and on with details, but simply be warned, STAY AWAY! If you come across NICK Kennedy or Joe St. Germain RUN the other way! The only positive I can say is that when I finally reached the Vice President Jed, HE was apologetic, professional, and showed respect and concern. If only those beneath him had half of his demeanor we would have bought our car from them instead of Wickstrom. Wickstrom now has our current sale and will be receiving our 2 upcoming purchases as well.
  • Please stay away from this place!!!

I purchased a 2009 Jeep commander 3 weeks ago, after 2 days of owning the vehicle the navigation went out, the transmission is leaking and the horn stopped working. Dealer would not take car back or even get me to the service dept. They told me if you dont like the car trade in, so I tried after two days they wanted to give me 5000 dollars less then what I paid two days earlier, and furthermore I recently found out that almost all of there used inventory is painted in house so it doesnt show up on carfax report. My carfax was clean I found out it was repainted upon looking at more of there used vehicles I had wet paint on my hands from the door jams really huge scam going on here just look at some other reviews. Hope this helps you do yourself a favor dont lose out like I did. Nick
  • Awful, dishonest, time waste

1 out of 5 starsby doctizzy on 07/06/2010

Saw a car online, came in drove the car for some one else. Called and gave all the information. The person was pleased with my review so he called in and put a deposit to hold the car. The other person was out of state and made travel arrangements to come in. They had not cleaned or detailed the car yet so they said come back tomorrow and check it out once it is all cleaned up. Keep in mind I've already drove the car. I show up the next day to review it once more. Wait for a bit to be helped as our sales person was busy. They show the car to some one else, while I'm there waiting to look at the car thats is supposed to be being held as there is a deposit on it and they end up selling the car and completely blowing off the deposit thats on the car! This happens while I'm there waiting for my sales person to finish up a sale. Whats the point of the deposit and people making plans to come into town if you'll sale the car on them. Their reaction, the deposit only holds the price not the car, what kind of response is that? So don't trust these guys, you'll end up there and the car you where planning on buying being shown and sold to some else even with your deposit on it!!!
  • Great Service

    5 out of 5 starsby charger09 on 06/10/2009

I have always gotten my service done at this dealership. With everything from oil changes to tire repairs, the price is right and the service is outstanding. The people are kind and always willing to answer your questions. I recommend that everyone get their service done here.
  • Great Experience

    5 out of 5 starsby mwaitzman485 on 05/27/2009

I had the opportunity to just go looking around for a car. In the past, it felt like unless I had my checkbook in my hand I was treated like a pain in the neck. ...or I felt like a fresh piece of road kill with the vultures ready to attack. Not this time. I went into Zeigler Chrysler and spoke to a salesman named Bob. I was treated with respect and with no high pressure at all. Although I made it very clear that I was not buying right that moment, I still felt very welcome. All my questions were answered and I was never given the rush act. I greatly appreciated the experience. With 125,000 miles on my current car, I will be in the market very soon. When that time comes, I will be going to Ziegler and buying from Bob.
  • Very Happy!

    5 out of 5 starsby happy30 on 10/30/2008

What a wonderful experience! We did do some research prior to going to the dealership and of course I did see some of the reviews on this website so we were somewhat guarded. We felt it was important to try to keep our business in the area that we live in so we gave it a try. That feeling quickly went away with the initial greeting by our salesman. He was very friendly and seemed to genuinely want to help us to find the perfect car. After looking at several different cars and test driving all of them, we settled on one and the negotiating began. This was the part I was most worried about but the manager we dealt with, Joe, was so helpful and really worked with us to keep our payment within our budget. All in all, we felt we got a great deal on a great car. I would recommend this dealership to anyone, we just had a really great experience. They will definitely have our business in the future!
  • Not Bad

3.6 out of 5 starsby chuckflarhu on 09/01/2008

I found a mistake in pricing online. Contacted dealer by phone and internet. Dealer honored price. Went in and bought vehicle. Was even able to negotiate a reasonable price on my trade. I probably still got screwed, but at least I don't feel like it for once.
  • Insane

1 out of 5 starsby muckaneer on 06/13/2008

DO NOT GO HERE FOR SERVICE - in case you misses it - DO NOT GO TO ZEIGLER JEEP IN SCHAUMBURG! I took my Jeep in to get a rear axle seal replaced, and they said I needed a new axle housing ($1700). That is the big steel part that houses the axle..it usually only needs replacement when you total your car, which I did not. Sooo I took it for a second opinion. Turns out Zeigler's [violative content deleted] CUT MY AXLE AND LIED ABOUT IT. Yes. They cut the axle to put a seal on. Due to crappy warranty issues, I took it back and they replaced the axle and "fixed" the leak. Oh wait...they didn't. It still leaks. [violative content deleted]. A Jeep dealer that can't repair Jeeps. Only go there if you like people who lie about making mistakes that can KILL YOU.
  • I REGRET....

1.6 out of 5 starsby jonjeep on 05/06/2008

I regret purchasing a vehicle from this dealership. To those considering buying a new or used vehicle - stay far, far away from these [violative content deleted]. The joy of taking delivery of a new automobile will be long gone by the time you get done with these [violative content deleted]. Unfortunately I gave these [violative content deleted] my business on Saturday May 3, 2008, and I've had a sour taste in my mouth since. Pushy isn't the word for the [violative content deleted] that infest this so called 5 Star Dealership. The only way I can describe the feeling after walking out of Zeigler is CREEPY. They will take advantage of you any way they can. Especially Steve (I won't mention his last name). This [violative content deleted] will try to sell you on the paint protection, fabric protection, rust proofing, extended warranties etc.., etc... and WILL NOT take no for an answer. I'm happy to say I did not give in to his "wear 'em down" sales strategy, but I can't help to think of all the vulnerable consumers this [violative content deleted] took advantage of. I eventually had to look him straight in the eyes and say "I'm not interested, let's move on... and I'm SERIOUS". After the pleasure of dealing with Steve, I had the privilege of moving on to finance where yet another [violative content deleted] named Tom would not let up. Gap Insurance, Warranties, blah, blah. Though not as bad as the Steve character, he was still unappropriate in his sales approach in the regard that I wasn't interested. I can go on and on, but I digress. The bottom line is shop before you buy, and don't be afraid to leave the dealership without leaving them your money. While I really like the vehicle I purchased (2008 Jeep Sahara) I am certainly kicking myself in the backside for giving Zeigler of Schaumburg my business. I WILL NOT be taking this vehicle to them for service. I hope this review helps in your decision of purchasing a vehicle with Harold Zeigler of Schuamburg.

We brought our car in on a Wednesday and it was finally fixed 9 days later. Initially, we had to call them to find out what was wrong with the car. The car was losing oil and they tried to insinuate that we were not performing proper maintenance on the car and we were the cause of the problem. They finally diagnosed the problem on Friday. That was the only time they ever called us. We always had to call them to find out the status on the car. (We had called the original dealer where we got the car from and they diagnosed the problem over the phone. They said that the problem was a common problem with Chrysler Pacifica and sure enough, if you google Chrysler Pacifica engine problems, losing oil is one of the main problems.) They promised us the car would be fixed as soon as the part came in (a dealer service dept that did not have the part in stock, go figure). We continually called them to check up on the car. We were given a rental car and told that it would be covered by the dealer and our warranty. On the 9th day, we got a call from the rental car place telling us that we would be responsible for the last two days, as Zeigler told them they were not paying anymore. I called Zeigler and spoke with the Service Manager. He put me on hold and guess what?! My car was all done and ready to be picked up. Convenient that they never called us. When we went to pick up the car, the service manager was also conveniently "out to lunch". They had the gall to put their license plate holder on the front and back plates with their name!! Too bad I have a "stinks" written after it. Not once did we get an apology or any sympathy in any way. They could not have cared less about the customer. RUN from this place!!
  • Horrible

1 out of 5 starsby hemadixit on 01/15/2008

The sales associate there made racist remarks. He even told my husband that shame on him for considering wife's opinion in buying a car. I will never shop there again. We bought a brand new Grand Caravan from another dealership
  • Great Experience, Velko, Bob, and Brandon GREAT!!!!

I purchased a 2012 Jeep Patriot Saturady and I coudl not have been more pleased with the process. Velko was a great salesman and I would and will reccomend him to everyone I know. He was patient, knowledgeable, had a great personality, all around great guy and easy to talk about my needs with. He clearly wanted to make sure I purchasing something I was happy with. I am looking forward to a long car relationship with him and the dealership. Bob was also great to talk to during the process for the cars protection plan and again no hard sell, Brandon made finance like getting a ice cream cone. It was quick, fast, easy, everything was explained. It was after hours but he did not seem to be phased by that. It was a shear pleasure doing business with these men and the dealership. As I waiting to go see Brandon other reps where conversing and we talked cars, weather, many issues. I just can not say enough. It was a great way to spend my Saturday afternoon.

Zeigler is an outstanding dealership. They are honest and helpful. It was nice to find a dealership that did not play games. I went to 4 dealerships before them all of them gave me the run around with the pricing. No problems at all at Zeigler.
  • Best Car Store and Car Sales Person in Chicagoland!!!

I recently purchased two new 2011 Jeeps, Wrangler Unlimited 70th anniversary and Grand Cherokee Overland from Margaret. At Ziegler Jeep. Margaret’s ability to accommodate is her best trait. The stores management gave her the latitude to close deals that were great deals and never wasted anyone’s time waiting for an answer. She is the very best new car sales person I have met, I have purchased a good 15+ new cars over the years (Traveling Salesman 40K miles per year!). I’d like to think I’m qualified to judge a good from bad car sales person. Understanding her product and processes thoroughly made closing deals smooth painless and above all never felt like they were holding anything back, I was comfortable with the deals we struck. I am happy to give the dealership full marks (5 Stars) on every level. Even the dreaded Finance guy was a pleasure to work with, never once pressured me into anything additional but he was careful to make sure I knew what I was or wasn’t signing up for. I’ve dealt with Finance guys who wouldn’t let you out of their office without upgraded insurance or service packages. By the way I had an oil change done on Saturday (no wait fit me right in without having to ask!), Ron the service dept manager is an amazing guy to work with. His top of mind awareness of his product and his authoritative knowledgeable demeanor made being in his company an excellent experience. He is an old school It feels freat to finally have a dealership where I feel comfortable and at home...
  • I love Velko

I came with my parents from Naperville to this dealership and as soon as I walked in, I loved the setting, the people and my soon to be Jeep. Velko, our dealer, was so friendly, relate able, informative, and so sweet and helpful. He helped me pick out the car that was perfect for me, persuade my parents and take care of me so well. Other dealerships and dealers don't stand a chance against this one.

  • No Deal - Insulting - Plays Games...

1 out of 5 starsby mmaleto on 07/30/2011
    updated 06/04/2025

Been buying cars for over 40 years - this one has to be the worst experience! 1) I explained to Steve that I did not want to play any games but I guess he did not understand me. When he came back from the "gods" behind the center counter, his offer was a total insult. The deal on the T&C was good, but the offer for my car and the "ballpark" monthly payment was way off base. The car listed for about 32K and he was giveing me about 5K off that price. He was givingme 20K for my car (which I owe about 14K). You do the math. 32K for the car, 5K in rebates and 6K in trade in. That comes to be about 21K to finance without taxes and fees, so let's add another 2K for that - 23K to finance (ballpark). He came back with a monthly payment of over $500 per month! That would mean that a 23K loan would cost me over 36K - or over 13K in finance charges! I told Steve that was an insult and asked for my keys back. He went back to the "gods" behind the center counter and came back with $419 per month - ballpark! Now we are still talking over 7K in finance charges....that was after he tyried to tell me that was @ 4.5% interest! I showed him my auto calculator that listed a higher priced car and came back with a monthly fee of about $335 @ 5% interest. He then said he does not know what they plugged in and since we did not do a credit check yet, he could not give me a better idea of the monthly costs. I explained he could give me an accurate "idea". That is when I waslked out. 2) Steve repeatedly told me that I could not get the safety features I wanted from the T&C in the Dodge Caravan. When I came home and did a search online, I found many that had the exact options I was looking for. I do nto want to say Steve lied, but he hasbeen working there since they opened and appeared to be a seasoned car salesman - so I would lean on him not telling the truth about the Dodge Caravan - in other words, I think he tried to upscale a sale. I have received a few calls since I walked out. Steve, Matt and an alleged service rep. Both the service rep and Matt denied knowing about me walking out and hoped I had a good experience. This is a pure insult to me. I would not recommend this dealer at this point.
