    Mr Shaker did reach out to me and apologize for missing my emails as they were dealing with a global auto deal network outage. Modern Mazda conferred with Mazda corporate about extending roadside assistance or providing some kind of credit for future issues. I brought the vehicle back in for the 4th time for additional diagnostics and this time it was determined that the liftgate module and right side power motor for the liftgate were not within specifications and were replaced. Mazda corporate and Modern replaced these parts as a good will gesture. Here’s hoping that this solves the problem of intermittent battery issues. ******************************************************************************************************

    I purchased a 2020 Certified PreOwned CX-5 from Modern Mazda on 4/8/2023. After signing all the paperwork I went to leave and the battery was dead and had to be replaced. Just over 1 month later I went to leave for work and the battery was dead. I brought it in to be checked on 5/19/2023 and nothing was found. On June 7, 2024 I heard a continuous beeping coming from the liftgate after the car had been parked in my garage all day, it drained the battery again. I brought the car in for service on Friday June 14 to be checked and was told everything checked out ok, however I could not come in to pick it up until June 17 and before I came in was told the battery was dead again. Modern Mazda had the vehicle for 2 weeks and on June 28 I was told to come pick it up because they could find nothing wrong. I contacted the General Manager, Edward Shaker via email, and stated my dissatisfaction with no resolution of this battery drain issue and the fact I bought a CPO from them that can no longer be trusted not to have a dead battery and leave me stranded on the side of the road. Mr Shaker responded and asked to have a few days to look into the matter and he would get back to me, I was hopeful. Now 2 full weeks have passed and none of the emails I have sent over the last 2 weeks have been responded to. It seems Modern Mazda and the Shaker Auto Group talk a good game of Customer Service, but do not follow through when there is an issue.

    Just had my 2017 Miata RF LE in for first oil change. Very happy with service and overall experience. Mark McAviney in service took excellant care as if it were his own. Will definitely be back in another 5,000 miles. Also, highly recommend Sean Moore's Zurich Insurance backed SIMONIZ interior/exterior protect-ant. Absolutely bulletproof.

    6 weeks after buying a certified pre-owned 2011 Mazda 3 the weather warmed enough so I could give it a proper wash. The right headlight took in water and was heavily condensed. Modern looked at it, said there were no cracks in the lens and would check the extended warranty. 3 days later I get a call from Joel saying the service manager was willing to split the cost with me. My share would be $875. I nearly fell off my chair and refused their kind and honest offer and decided instead to make a complaint with BBB, Mazda and file for small claims. Oh, and writing a review cautioning folks who may be thinking of buying from Modern to test drive the vehicle through a car wash. This is a known problem for the model year and I have found 6 TSB on the issue. To not test for a documented problem prior to qualifying and selling a certified preowned vehicle is just plain dumb and a poor business tactic. To offer to pay for half the amount is tactless and is an admission of responsibility.

    I am a devoted modern motors customer. Their service and parts department can't be more helpful. Their price is fair and they even wash my car after every service. I highly recommend this dealer
