I purchased a 2020 Certified PreOwned CX-5 from Modern Mazda on 4/8/2023. After signing all the paperwork I went to leave and the battery was dead and had to be replaced. Just over 1 month later I went to leave for work and the battery was dead. I brought it in to be checked on 5/19/2023 and nothing was found. On June 7, 2024 I heard a continuous beeping coming from the liftgate after the car had been parked in my garage all day, it drained the battery again. I brought the car in for service on Friday June 14 to be checked and was told everything checked out ok, however I could not come in to pick it up until June 17 and before I came in was told the battery was dead again. Modern Mazda had the vehicle for 2 weeks and on June 28 I was told to come pick it up because they could find nothing wrong. I contacted the General Manager, Edward Shaker via email, and stated my dissatisfaction with no resolution of this battery drain issue and the fact I bought a CPO from them that can no longer be trusted not to have a dead battery and leave me stranded on the side of the road. Mr Shaker responded and asked to have a few days to look into the matter and he would get back to me, I was hopeful. Now 2 full weeks have passed and none of the emails I have sent over the last 2 weeks have been responded to. It seems Modern Mazda and the Shaker Auto Group talk a good game of Customer Service, but do not follow through when there is an issue.
