The reason for 4 stars is I waited about 2 hours for my final paperwork to be completed due to the number of… transactions taking place. Even so...Jonathan was a pleasure to do business with and I will not hesitate to contact AutoNation and Jonathan Y. when I purchase my next car.Mike N. was the best!

by edwinv on 03/18/2014updated 06/05/2025I want to give it a 4.5 due to a minor detail that was missed but since that is not an option I will go with a 4. I dealt with Harvey as my salesperson, and among salespeople, he was among the best (and I have dealt with a… few). Charismatic, non-pushy and the best part of all is that he listened instead of talking about pushing a sale. His approach was very conversional, which was well received. He set up my deal with his sales manager with little haggle and I walked away with what I thought was a good deal. During the 4 hour process that I was there, he sold at least 2 cars plus he had a few other clients coming in to deal directly with him which speaks to his salesperson skills. I had done my homework and the process was very smooth. At financing, however, I have not done my homework as through fully as I should have (Shame on me), and therefore the process was not as smooth. Although their finance manager Takeo O. was a very nice individual, his approach to sell us the extras was a bit like buy now or forever hold your peace. Among the extras were the mop and glow, the extended toyotacare and the extended warranty. Although I was on the market for those extras, I preferred to walk away and look elsewhere for a less expensive product. Because, Toyota is trying to maximize their profit margin, the extended warranty and Mop and Glow was presented as a package deal and was never presented as individual items. Having said that, Takeo was kind enough to let us walk away and gave us a chance to call him back at the end of the day with an offer to any of the products he was offering. I left a message with an offer to one of those products but my phone call was never returned. So my opportunity to continue to do additional business with AutoNation Toyota stopped there. I removed one half a star( or in this case, a full star), not because of the Finance manager approach, but rather because of Autonation Toyota approach to try to obtain such a high profit margin on the extra products they sell. If the values of these products were priced more competitive, they would see an incline in their sales volume and they will start seeing more 5 stars from other customers as well.Surprisingly Wonderful Experience!

When I knew what I wanted, I began putting feelers out to… various institutions to avoid working directly with dealers. I was curious about AutoNation, so I inquired with them as well online. I received several quotes and Cindy L. at AutoNation was able to offer the best deal on my 2014 Toyota Tacoma. She was so pleasant and easy-going and the deal was pretty much set before we even set foot onto dealership territory. Once there, we test drove our new truck, signed a contract and traded in our used vehicle well within 2 hours of arrival. At no point during our visit did I feel pressured to do anything. Everyone was extremely professional and courteous but special kudos to Cindy and Zamir, who felt like old friends by the time we left. We have recommended this dealership to everyone who asks. Primary reason for this purchase at Autonation Irvine is the price. There was quite a large difference compared to other… dealers. I worked with Jonathan Y. (Internet sales). And Until I walked away with the car, he was the only guy I spoke with in Autonation Toyota :). He is awesome sales guy. He never forced me on anything. And he was able to provide quotes for several makes whenever I asked for (Corollo LE, SE, XLE, Camr LE, SE ..what not) within a few minutes. Finally I agreed on the deal one day, but the color I was looking for was not available. Jonathan assured he'll get it in two days. I waited as I already started knowing about Jonathan & had confidence on him. After long struggle, the car was at the showroom for me to take a look. My credit history was not good & i had to put it on hold for two more days to get external financing. They were happy to hold that vehicle for me for these two days. Jonathan did excellent job on this. His way of doing sales gave me confident that the deal is fair. Jonathan explained the featuer of the car when I got the keys. Even after buying the car, Jonathan informed me by mail, phone, in person, that he'll be happy to help if there is any problem or doubts regarding the car. I hope all sales guys are like this in Autonation & hence giving 5* rating. I would say, if you are looking for good deal, quality sales (no pressure), this is the right place. The best part I liked was that they never pushed us into buying extra stuff. They provided us all the information and when we said no to… things we didn't want, they never pushed for them again. The first was an automated generic market value quote that was competitive (2nd lowest). The second was a personalized… specific quote based on their month end blowout sale which was substantially lower. I was skeptical of the price/inventory but I scheduled an appointment the same day. When I showed up the place was a mob scene but their facility was expansive and well managed. It took some effort to nail down their inventory but I did finally get a preferred color off the showroom floor at the quoted price. There was no haggling except for the 7 year extended warranty which they gave me at an unbelievable discount. The week earlier my nephew got a Prius off a newspaper ad $4200 below MSRP with the factory incentive. I got $500 less off the MSRP but my incentive was $3000 higher because it was a plug in which is also eligible for $4000 in CA/federal rebates.excellent service, quality dealership

Being that it was out first Hybrid car, our salesperson Cindy L., was very patient explaining the system, dashboard, controls, etc. We used the Costco car purchasing program,… which as advertised, was smooth and haggle-free. Our only disappointment came when we were escorted to the finance dept. for the "hard sell" of the warranty packages. We had not bought a new car for several years, so were unprepared for the pitch. Jae L. was pleasant enough, but he was all business, and really made the end of our car buying experience uncomfortable. Other than the hard-sell finance dept, Auto Nation Irvine was great to work with. Raid was great going over the payment options with us. I would recommend this dealership for a smooth transaction and pleasant, dedicated sales staff.they made it easy

Stay Away from AutoNation Toyota Irvine

Mind you this was after waiting nearly two full hours after signing the papers. While they provided a courtesy… vehicle, they delivered it with the gas tank completely empty...the gas light was on. A week later, they also failed to honor Roadside Assistance which they promised at the time of signing. There is a long list of problems I could write about their service, but I just wanted to save you, the reader, any potential stress and anxiety but suggesting one thing: STAY AWAY from AutoNation Toyota Irvine.Give this place a chance...
