Offered to make repairs

by phaser5 on 12/27/2018

We finally went down and talked to the sales manager. He offered to do replace the coolant tank in the Prius. Toyota suggested a needed ECU upgrade was necessary to fix the engine light. So far so good.

Nightmare at Courtesy Kia

by Lawman71 on 08/15/2018

I stopped in to look at a Kia Rio Hatchback. They had very few, none that I would buy. They told me of a car that they had located that was perfect . . . Except it had the wrong interior . . . and the lesser trim package . . . . But they said they could fix that. I said I did not have my trade. They said "No problem" and made a deal, sight unseen! They said to come back the next day and bring my trade-in. I arrived, and they did not have a my Kia there, so they put me in a service loaner and took my trade. 2 weeks later, after all sorts of conflicting stories, still no Kia Rio for me. I said "Enough . . . I'm done!" After what seemed like an eternity, they finally brought me my Trade back . . . With NO GAS, extra miles on it, and they had advertised it, even publishing the VIN! They even put their dealership sticker on it. But, it gets worse. I had a very small balance on my vehicle and, even though we did not complete the deal - Because they could not produce the vehicle they sold me - they paid off my car and had the documents sent to their Toyota dealership, so I couldn't even trade it anywhere else. The manager called me, and was very nice and apologetic, and said he would fix everything. days later, it STILL hasn't happened. I am out a bunch of money - over $1300 - and time and have gotten nothing but some disaster stories to share! I would not return to that dealership if you kidnapped my whole family and put a gun to my head! Caveat Emptor!

The worst of the worst

by 3903pagosa on 01/16/2017

Deceptive internet advertising. I am a corporate perks employee. On the internet they advertised a 2012 Kia Forte with 21k miles for $10,998. Called to see if they still had the car. Made appt. When arrived we were told the car sold yesterday. I spoke to them before arriving & they said they still had it. I was told 2 different stories by 2 salesman. The 1st said it was sold yesterday & the 2nd said it was 2 months ago. I will be reporting them to the Federal Trade Commission as this is a violation of the FTC act. Beware stay away.

Worse dealership I have ever stepped foot in!

by IsmaelD on 11/15/2016

If your’e shopping for a car please do your own research and look at all of the ratings posted on Edmund’s, CarRater and BBB (17 Complaints.) The following is based on my experience in trying to purchase a 2017 Sportage EX for my wife. Worse dealership I have ever stepped foot in! The sales department is inept as they did not honor the deal we had agreed upon the day before driving up. The sales department and finance department are at a complete disconnect. In my honest opinion, I would not recommend working with this Kia dealership and would encourage you to shop elsewhere. We worked with Brett Stanley for a couple of months as we went from thinking of buying a car to actually buying on one…a 2017 Sportage EX. My wife completed an online credit application as requested. After much going back and forth on Saturday, November 12th we settled on an out the door price of $25,526.52 which resulted in monthly payment of $350 for 75 months with $3k down. I was very clear since my very first communications with Brett that I would not be making the 230 mile/ 4 hour drive up to the dealership until everything was settled upon. He understood my request and asked me to drive up, We had a deal! When we arrived at the dealer we test drove the car we had been negotiating on, and proceeded with the paperwork. Sadly, we did not take delivery of the car. After receiving confirmation from Brett that all was okay to proceed the deal fell through for their lack of delivering of what they stated, #1. Brett did not honor the deal that was agreed upon due to his failure to review the paperwork before our drive up. Once we got over the first hurdle or problem we re-negotiated the deal, reluctantly as based on principle a deal is a deal. #2. The finance person we were working with said that no worries as “I will force them to accept the deal” “the system saids you’re okay so I just need to talk with the right person” “we place more than 30 deals a month with them, I don’t agree with this buyer” and then the finance director showed up and just pissed me off with his arrogance and dismissive demeanor as his dealership had messed up.

A Difficult Experience

by bbeware on 10/10/2016

I've purchased many new cars elsewhere and this dealership has not been a pleasant experience for me. The internet prices are deceptive - add about $3k to the online price and then add $1895 to every car for dealer installed options. I had difficulty getting after sale commitments resolved and unfortunately had to resort to negative social media to get the job done. Thank you Andrew and Brett for resolving the situation.

Sales

by pwjf081870 on 04/13/2015

I met Randall Stieff (Sales) at the door, and while my initial greeting to him was "I'm vaguely interested in a car that I probably will not buy", he was more than interested in getting to know about my unique situation. In the end, I ended up buying a car, but not because of any sort of pressure. Randall was more than knowledgeable about the cars I was looking at, he was able to work with my unique situation, and I was able to drive home with a fully loaded 2015 Kia Soul Exclaim for not much more a month than I was already paying on the car I traded in. No complaints at all! Thanks, Peter F.

Disabled Veteran Cheated Out of $20,000 worth of benefits.

by hoover123 on 02/07/2015

The quality of service is not defined when typical situation. Every car dealer in the United States is friendly and super quick. The character and quality, how a problem is handled. The purchase of a the first new vehicle 2014, which only be able to drive for couple more years anyway. The VA offers a outstanding benefit only to certain disabilities which surprised me, a one time use grant that pays $20,000 towards the purchase of vehicle. The owner of a kia soul that had a recall, went in to fix. I interested in the Sorrento and know if they come with turn signal warranty. I stated "not ready to purchased only interested in, and that had a different situation because of the grant" They had a demo that had miles, but made for nice price. Used car price with new car warranty and interest rate. Then figured out that they tried to charge full price $35,000 when worth $28,000 and was because the bank would finance. Then the new car warranty, they stated that was losing money and I would have to purchase $115 for 18 months, which they didn't lose money. The deal was then processed and the car purchased. The grant was sent in to process. Three months later, letter from VA unable to process the grant. The purchase of the vehicle should have been delayed to process the grant. Ops, Went back to manager give copy of the letter and contact information. This was during the holidays and three weeks later, I had call them. They stated that they call the bank and VA to fix the problem. Call me back in a couple days, which did not happened. I was told to file a Better Business Bureau complaint. Then general manager sent email. Please come in and they will straighten the situation out. Went back to the dealership, the GM meets and very nice and states that trade in and get in new vehicle. Then at the suggestion of family ask if was a typical trade in. They wanted to trade in a vehicle that purchased 4 months and buy another one. Explained that there was no way that was happened, that went from mistake to insult. Later the same day, the call and figured out that they could buy back and resell to correct. The situation would be corrected, expect for the $115 a month for 18 months. Which i was told to cancelled, If I did not want to pay. Really, The 100,000 warranty would be lost. The result is on a regular basis had to force the dealership to do the right thing. I had stated that this situation has not cost the dealership nothing, "It should not cost us anything" after 4 months and many sleepless nights the stress of dealing with this mess. Right next door, at Toyota dealer the year before, brother purchased a new Tundra. He asked for 500$ they was only able to get it to $600. They offered two dozen free fill up with gas, to help. The one thing learned, should have went next door and purchased Toyota. They don't need to be forced to do the right thing.

Great buying experience

by Lex73 on 09/07/2014

The whole buying experience was great from start to finish. The salesman listened to all our needs and wants and helped to find the right car for us. The sales manager worked with us to get a great price for the car that we wanted making the purchase work for the budget we set. And the closing process was easy and surprisingly enjoyable. The new dealership is great and our buying experience makes me look forward to doing business with them.

Car Buyer's Review

by TerryBurgess on 09/06/2014

I appreciate the professionalism of Car Salesman Domonique W and supervisor, while purchasing. My Kia Soul. I highly recommend this dealership because they are willing to work with you with less than perfect credit. Not only did they put me in the car I so desired, but gave me top dollars for my trade in. The car I have chosen is saving me so much money in gas as headaches of repair. So pleased I stopped by.

Best Experience in 30+ Years!!!

by tdeansimmons on 07/12/2014

From beginning to end the absolute best car buying experience in my lifetime and I have purchased over 35 vehicles in my life. From Anthony the sales manager to Gene & Sal our consultants to Robert the finance manager and everyone in between, it was a 110% professional, enjoyable and pleasurable experience to do business with Courtesy KIA. As an older (mid 50's) individual with 30+ years of sales and management experience, I came in with a mindset that this will be a fight and I will win. However, they fooled me! No fighting, no arguing, no pressure, no hard close... well honestly, no anything that I prepared myself for. But still, I gave them a hard times anyways because that's what you do when you purchase a new vehicle right? Well I have just never been so wrong in my life and this is a very hard thing to admit, believe me. They will spend as much time as necessary to make certain you are choosing the right vehicle and that you understand all of the features and benefits. Customer service before and after is ridiculously excellent. Calls were always returned promptly, as well as emails, even from home when they were off the clock. And let me me tell you, I ask a lot of questions and I expect quick intelligent responses. Guess what? That is exactly what I received. The few things about me me that I should make clear is that I am demanding, controlling and quite frankly a difficult individual to deal with. The entire staff of Courtesy KIA never blinked or gave any indication that I was annoying or difficult, even though I know full well that I am. I kept waiting for someone to snap, (hoping they would actually) but they never did. Now for the best part of the story... unbeknownst to them when I walked in and put them through hell... I had just been discharged from a Chapter 7 bankruptcy 2 weeks prior. Now you would think that at this point that the attitude would change and interest in closing this deal would cease, but NO, it did not. Absolutely nothing changed and they proceeded as if I had just stated that my gas bill was due in a day and I was worried it would affect credit. Not only did they get me approved for financing, they did it at substantially less than the state maximum and for far less than the rate, I was willing to pay in order to purchase and reestablish credit. Now I fully realize this is the internet and you are sitting there thinking the same thing I always think, when I read a review like this, but I can assure you this is the real deal. As a matter-of-fact, I am so impressed with this dealership and the individuals it employs, that I will go completely out of my way to help them and prove my statements are true. I hereby give complete and total authorization for any individual at this dealership to contact me directly for the purpose of authenticating these statements. No only will I go this far... I will also present myself and my vehicle in person upon request, should anyone feel the need to dispute my statements. (But Please don't abuse my time) Any questions? Feel free to ask your representative and I am happy to speak with you by phone or in person. In my opinion you will NEVER experience a better car buying experience.... PERIOD!!!

Told us to go an American Car dealership who has better rebates

by crankypants on 05/31/2014

After going back and forth via email with Gene and was ready to trade in our '12 Soul, we were pushed off onto another sales person when we arrived (even though we made an appointment). We were basically told we'd be too upside down from our other loan to get into any car they had on the lot. Then we were told to try going to an American Car Dealership for a better rebate. They could do nothing for us. We even were referred there from a family member who bought a car from there 3 weeks earlier, they had an older car than ours and owed about the same balance with no credit and they drove out of there with a brand new car with 0 down. Very sad we couldn't trade our used Kia in at the Kia dealer for a newer model and were told to go to another brand completely.

GREAT SALES EXPERIENCE EVER!!

by sette04 on 04/10/2014

We were very happy with salesman Andre and Sal. They were very laid back and made us feel very comfortable. This was my third new vehicle purchase and Courtesy Kia was the best one of all. Jose and John in financing were very laid back and made the experience an easy one with the financing. Sal D. went over all the features of the car with us and made sure before we left that our phones were set up with hands free calling. I would recommend this Dealership to all family and friends.

Had a good experience

by lkn1 on 04/08/2014

The team at the dealership came together to make my deal come through. I thank Anthony, Nathan, Smiley and John W. I started on the internet with Anthony, he kept me very much informed and gave me options and numbers I required to make my decision. Nathan and Smiley made it a pleasant experience, although it took a little longer than I would have liked, I think they all did a great job and got me the deal I was looking for. Thank you very much, they are a very polite group of gentlemen! LKN

Very Bad Experience

by ammcb on 10/02/2013

UPDATE: Courtesy Kia sent me an email apologizing I feel but stated they are honest and sold me my car at a lost $1576 on the deal. That in itself proves they are not honest as we all know care dealerships are not in the business to "lose" money. One lie leads to another. As I write this the car is still listed at the e-price they say was in error. Either they are lying or they are using a bait and switch as they would not let an error continue to be advertised on their web site for almost two weeks.

Infuriated

by djcclcplc on 09/16/2013

So disappointed and left the dealership absolutely infuriated. I expect the little idiotic games that dealers play with pricing in the newspaper but when I'm exchanging emails with a salesperson and they give me a specific price on a specific car (with Stock #) in their inventory, I expect that price when I get to the dealer. Finding that the price is $2,000 more than what was quoted me online was infuriating. There is no excuse for adding in the rebates for Veterans, College Grads, Loyalty etc when contacting the dealer directly. Leave that for the newspaper ads but at least in the newspaper, there are disclosures of all the rebates. We simply walked out. I have no patience for games. I had the bank financing letter and the Title of our trade-in in my hand so I just wasted 2 hours of my time at Courtesy Kia of Brandon with nothing to show for it. We drove over to another Kia dealer and bought the same car from them in 1 1/2 hours with a $2,500 saving over Courtesy Kia's price and trade-in valuation.

Disappointed and Lied To

by mbrown279 on 07/15/2013

I purchased a Kia Sportage 2007 from this dealer about a year ago. I had been searching for a car for about three months. A friend from work recommended that I go to this dealership; which I agreed, after all of the different dealers I had been too. The initial sales process was awkward due to my sales person being new. The sales manager and I finally were able to strike a deal. However, he wanted to charge me and insane price, although the car was in a previous accident. They assured me it was minor and the car looked and ran fine. This should have been my first warning indicator. Also the sales person who sold me my car is no longer there. That is no surprise. The only issues initially found was the radio, which they replaced. I drove the car off the lot and two weeks later the issues started. The plastic panel of the car kept coming loose; the check engine light kept coming on. It took me about three to four trips before they said that the transmission would need to be replaced. This was covered under the warranty at the time. I work odd hours and could not conform to the times they had. I have spent a lot of hours at this dealership for various issues. Recently my AC has stopped working. I took the car in the dealer and was told that the control unit and blower box needed to be replaced. I was told that it would be covered and even a rental. I was relieved to say the least, but my bubble was quickly burst by the service technician. He came back and told me that the package I had would actually not cover it. The total cost estimate was $715. I live pay check to pay check as it is, $715 is like $3000 right now. How does an AC unit go bad only after having it for a year and the car being only about 5 years old. Since I left the service department my car appears to be overheating now. I mean this does not make sense to me. Having no AC in the state of FL and during rainy season is not a good combination. The service technician was like I could work with you on the price, I am sure that means taking off $25. There are two lesson I learned one, all dealerships (new/used) are filled with [non-permissible content removed] out to sale pieces of junk, two, always get the platinum package when buying from Courtesy Kia of Brandon. I was their biggest promoter, but now I am their biggest detractors. I am going to make sure to tell everyone to stay away from the Courtesy group especially the one in Brandon. I realize that cars needs maintenance, but I have never had an issue with the AC unit going out in any of the cars I have owned. I have owned a car that was almost 11 years old and the AC was in perfect condition. Shockingly it was a Kia Sportage 01. I guess they do not build cars like they used to.

Promises not kept-WHY?

by ogunter on 01/21/2010

I started out liking them. I noticed one small defect in the used car I wanted from them. The RH rear sliding door would not close using the button. I pointed it out the first night during my test drive. I was promised by Eric Clark the salesman that he woud have it taken care of. I signed the paperwork and drove off. When It came time for service I called Eric and he gave the phone number of a Dodge company store to have the work done. I called and scheduled the appointment. When I showed up the Dodge dealer had no record. I asked them to call Eric. They did and he denied the coverage. The Dodge service writer went to her boss. He called the Kia dealer ship. Again they denied the service. All this after I called the salesman, he gives me the phone number to call for service and I drive over 160 for the service. Why not stiff me on the servie right away. Why let me drive over 160 and waste my gas and time and then have someone else tell me NO. Yes, I know I should have gotten the service work order in writing but when they have a sticker on the window that you get service for 30 days, you report it on day one. Maybe something else will show up so you wait to schedule the service toward the end of the 30 days. Also as I said I started out liking them. I should have known better and I am just trying to alert others. Probably a 30 minute adjustment on the door and now I am telling everyone I can about them. Do you blame me?

Happy but Unhappy

by forgetfullamy on 10/13/2009

I bought my van from Couresty Kia and I love it.... My Sales man Mr. John Miller was so Kind, Caring, and was the Best Sales person I have ever met. If I had to Rate my Sales Person it would definitly be a 10 !!!!! No on the Other hand I am Unhappy with how I was treated by the General Manager, he wasn't so Kind and caring. He was more like, it's either his way or No way. I just felt like he just works there for a Paycheck, or maybe having a bad day and I was the first person that had walked into his path. It was to the point I went outside to Cry...
