Disgruntled Grandma
by Cherie on 06/01/2022To the General Management of the Service Dept. at EKF in Layton. I am writing to you to express my disappointment in the service I received on 5/26/22. I had made an appointment (after receiving a notice from EDK) on a recall for my… Explorer, almost 2 weeks in advance! I live 180 miles away - the Utah/Wyoming border. The appointment was made for 11:00 on 5/26/22. I arrived 10 minutes early & had to wait almost 15 minutes for Dave to come back to his desk. He then proceeded to tell me that they were very busy in the Service Dept. & I "might" be able to get my car completed in an hour but no promises! The Service Dept breaks for lunch at noon & wouldn't be back until 1:00!!!!! I could wait or just come back if I wanted. He also asked me why I didn't take my car somewhere closer to where I live!!!!! I asked why did I have to make an appointment then if it was going to take "awhile" just to replace the luggage rack covers on the roof of my car? I explained to Dave that I had driven down (3 hrs) especially for this appointment & that I had a very busy schedule & couldn't wait. He was NOT CONCERNED in the least at my predicament!!!!! My sweetie & his best friend buy "countless" trucks from EDK & he was very concerned when I told him what I had just gone thru!!!!! Please: In the future, if someone makes an appointment (they could've made it for any time & I would've been there at that time), to do everything in their power to get the customer in & out in a timely manner!!!!! Thank you for your attention to this!!!!!Great service department!!!!
by Tyler on 03/03/2022I have been working with Jennifer on several vehicles she has been absolutely amazing to deal with. She is prompt and always keeps me up-to-date on what’s going on with my vehicle. Best Ford service in Utah!Tire Service and Ford Concerns
by junglejohn on 11/19/2015I was satisfied with the "warranty repair" on my Taurus. But, I have other concerns: (1) When I get messages to "trade-in" my Taurus, I hesitate, because I have a few concerns, namely: (2) The emergency brake rubber pad. It wears out… often, but Ford "did not have a better idea". The first time it "wore out", I went to the Dealership (Ed Kenley) to buy a new pad. I found it was "covered" by the warranty -- But the mechanic "not only" replaced the worn out pad, he replaced the "entire next higher assembly!....pedal, and all the cables going back to the wheels. What a waste! Just to replace a worn rubber pad! Now I go to Auto Supply stores to but, just the rubber pad! None actually fit....the closest one falls off often; and each time I get on my knees to "put it back on", I think of "ford's half-assed idea". (3) Instrument panel light bulbs. Where do you get those sorry things? I have had "all" of them replaced "twice"; the "labor" cost is a real "bitch"! My brake and tail light bulbs have "never been replaced"....they are "easy" to get to; but when it comes to "high labor replacement instrument panel bulbs" you install "cheap crap"? Why?? To "gouge" me to replace them? If you do not give me a satisfactory response to that question; my next new car will probably be something "other" than a Taurus SEL. (4) "The Training" of your mechanics, and their ":skill". Almost two years ado, I stopped using your main shop at Ed Kinley. I had brought the car in for a "check-up" before driving to Colorado. Your "service advisor" said I probably did not need one, because a complete service from a "mature mechanic" about a month before, indicated everything was OK. Just to be "sure", I asked for the "multi point inspection"...."stupid me"! She assigned a "couple new guys". About an hour later they "found" about $900.00 worth of work....there was a "tiny" leak in the brake cylinder (but the fluid was not low); they wanted to replace the back brake cylinders, because one was leaking (I saw no leak). The "mechanic: said it "was so bad", that he would "fail me" on a state inspection. I asked her (service advisor) if these new fellows "if these new guys "were ford Trained"? Upon her assurance, I agreed to the work. Several hours, and "several hundred dollars" later, I found that my brake lines had been flushed, all new fluid. front rotors "turned", new back brake pads and re-built cylinders. Two months later, I went to Quick Lane for an oil change and complete service. The "experienced and thorough" mechanic called me out to look at my rear wheel. The old, cheap spring "your shop, new guys" had used had broken, and he heard a noise when he "spun the tire" with his hand.....that broken spring had been "gouging and scratching" my new back break pad. Quick Lane fixed it....They are "excellent"! (5) I heard later that "both" your "new guys" had been fired. If the service advisor had "assigned" Rusty Hunt (excellent mechanic), I would not be writing this. And "might" be leaning more toward "a new ford"....competent and thorough maintenance is a "big thing" for me!Dealership Needs to Keep Parts on Hand
by junglejohn on 09/09/2015I am pleased with the "work done"; but "not" with the quality of the spare parts. Twice I have had "all the bulbs" replaced in the panel/dash lights. Now two-thirds of them are burned out again. I hate to "pay for that high priced labor"… and the dealership provide "poor quality parts" for the mechanic to use. Also I am "not pleased" with the "parking brake cover". Initially, it wore out fast; but there was no replacement part. I had to order the "whole assembly", over one-hundred dollars, when all I needed was a "simple rubber pad" covering the parking brake pedal. Why? The "whole assembly" was not necessary.Great service, friendly staff

by Oldduffer2 on 07/23/2015Anthony, in the quick lane found my rear tires needed replacing during a service aptmt, went to Les Swab found a set of tires matching the ones put on a month ago and brought them back and mounted them for me. Then took my vehicle to repair… for an air bag dash light, which Vince got on took care of that repair also. The detailing was great also. Thanks much to all involved.Oil change & detail

by KNBeaulieu on 06/24/2015This review is NOT based on a sample of one. I have been to Ed Kenley Ford on a number of occasions and with every visit for service on my F-250 6.4L Diesel I've been overwhelmingly pleased with everything from the personnel on staff to… the results of the work done by those behind the scenes. Thank you!Exceptional service advisor, Anthony Lopez.

About our dealership
Cherie, thank you for taking the time to write this review. It was quite unfortunate that you came in at their lunch time and the service person to do the work was at lunch. Dave said that you were understanding and would do something else then come back but never showed up. Attitude is everything and it sounds like the service advisor could have been a little more understanding. Management will talk to him about that. We hope to keep your business.
