  • Awful service. Please take your business elsewhere.

My mother purchased a truck from Clear Lake Dodge. She noticed an imperfection on the side of truck and they promised to fix the minor scratch. After about 2 months the scratch was finally fixed but the paint job was horrible. Low budget in my view. First of all, they painted the whole side of the truck (unnecessary) and on top of that the color did not even match. After some debate they agreed to fix THEIR mistake. They gave my mother the run around for about 2 weeks. Finally after calling every single day, they told her to drop off her truck so they could fix it. This process took 6 days. When she was contacted because her car was ready, the salesman was very RUDE to her. She explained that she was sick with the swain flu and would be unable to bring the car in until the next morning. He said he did not care and wanted the car back that day. The sales people, management and service department has proven to be rude and incompetent. I would suggest you take your business [elsewhere] if you must get service. I would suggest NOT buying a dodge if you are shopping around. Then you can avoid dealing with these people.

  • Poor Communication, Poor service overall

While taking my truck in for service, I was originally told that service would be completed by the end of the day. Later that afternoon, I was told that they had to get parts from Dallas, and that parts generally arrived in the morning, and that my truck would be ready by 1-2pm the next day. Janie Mercer indicated that she would make check on the parts in the morning, and let me know if there were any problems. I did not receive a call in the morning, and assumed that the work was progressing as scheduled. To check on the work and confirm that my truck would be ready by 1-2pm, I called at approximately 12pm and was told that "the work was progressing as scheduled." She said she would need to check with the man completing the service, but she said it would be done shortly. She then called back at approximately 2pm to tell me that the parts did not arrive because of weather delays--and that they would need to keep my truck for another day What really bothered me was the poor communication. It was clear that when I first called at noon, she did not have any clue about the progress of my truck, nor the delay in receiving parts. It was only after the lunch break that she called to alert me of the problem. At this time, I was obviously dismayed--as not having a vehicle for over two days was going to be a signficant harship. I asked if I would be able to get a loaner truck at this time and was told that they did not have any--I would just have to wait till it was ready. In total, I felt like they completely disregarded their customers time and obligations and would not recommend this dealership for service if other options are available. I don't quite know how they were awarded a "five-star" by dodge/chrysler.

  • New Vehicle Damaged Upon Possession and Never Repaired

I purchased a brand new Dodge Ram 1500 with the ram boxes in June 2010. I paid the dealership to have the bed sprayed with Rhino Liner, which they contracted out to a 3rd party. Three days later I went to the dealership to take possession of my new truck (until then, I had never taken possession) and found that the driver's side ram box was damaged. I was assured by the Internet Sales Manager, Lincoln Stahl, not to worry. He told me to take my new truck home and enjoy it and that he would order the piece to fix it and let me know when it comes in. So, trusting that it would be remedied (after all, it was a brand new truck with a great warranty) I left the dealership with my new (slightly damaged) truck. Six months and many calls later, the truck was finally repaired. Then the very next day the ram box broke again, same piece for which I had been waiting > 6 months. Clearly, the wrong piece was replaced. Turns out the entire ram box lid was in need of replacement. Again, I was told to go home and don't worry about it. They sent a technician, Gerran, outside to take pictures of the damaged area and said they would order the proper part this time. Fast forward 1 yr 7 months. I STILL have a broken ram box. After numerous calls over many, many months to the Service Manager, Robert Jackson, to the Internet Sales Manager, Lincoln Stahl, and to the technician, Gerran, who took the pictures, we never received return phone calls. Ultimately, I contacted Dodge Corp and finally got the issue resolved under warranty. So, after waving good-bye and allowing me to leave the Clear Lake dealership with a broken truck one year and seven months ago, and assuring me that they would fix it, that dealership was willing to allow me to swallow a $1200 repair that was not my fault at all. These people are not honest and I will never allow them to even change my oil, much less buy another vehicle from them. And I will never recommend them to a friend. I find it utterly amazing that the Dealership owner puts such unprofessional, dishonest personnel, in particular Robert Jackson, in Management positions. This dealership's lack of judgment not only cost them a loss of a customer for life, but countless other customers who saw the seemingly poor craftsmanship of a brand new Dodge truck with a broken rambox for 1 1/2 yrs and through word of mouth and communications such as this. If only people would treat others as they would want to be treated, nothing more.
