Bad Sales Team
by Denise on 03/10/2024We went looking for a new car yesterday and no one came out to help us. We walked around the car lot by ourselves. Very Unhappy with them. We asked one salesman if he could send someone to help us. No one even came out to help. The salesman… said he would send someone out.Think really hard before putting down a deposit with these folks
by disappointed on 12/29/2019updated 01/03/2020The sales associates are nice and knowledgeable but beware putting down a "refundable" deposit. Our plans changed and we cancelled our hold on a vehicle. Even after visiting with the salesman in person, and getting an assurance that the… refund would be processed, it has been a month and the "refundable" deposit still has not been refunded. Think really hard before putting down a deposit with these folks.Hyundai Santa Fe
by Samy_Frisco on 07/26/2017Bought a 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe from Huffines Plano dealership. The Salesperson Andy So was excellent, honest and helped all the way. General Manager was such a nice person who gave a great deal. I would definitely recommend this dealership… and Andy to anyone who needs a new car.G_90
by Du55661 on 07/12/2017Great vehicle. This is the most exciting auto we have owned. I love that there are No options. Done with MB, Lexus. Andy So is terrific salesman- not pushy, patient, and very knowledgeable about this brand new auto. Finance people, Ken and… Lamar very professional.New buying experience
by Ferns1stcar on 04/11/2017I went in just to test drive the new Tucson. Enjoyed the easy driving. Loved the color choice. Sales rep, Andy So, was easy going and not pushy. New vehicle was greatly priced. Easy of purchase was great. Two thumbs up.I love Huffines Hyundai and their courteous staff
by AlissaNicole76 on 03/04/2017I purchased my 2015 Elantra from Frank White at Huffines Hyundai and he was a serious breath of fresh air after having a dealership much closer to home try to bait & switch me thinking I'm...using the words of the misogynist a-hat (see… review dated 11/10/15)...a little girl there to spend "daddy's" money. They literally told me to my face that I lied about the asking price on the ad ON THEIR OWN WEBSITE. Drove all the way from Dallas to College Station to buy the Hyundai I wanted after calling the dealership 2 times to confirm the car was there and was still the price of their ad. Got there and they flat out called me a liar. And when I provided their own ad to them proving I wasn't lying, they didn't bother even apologizing for treating a potential customer like trash. Guess that's what you get for walking into a dealership being a "little" 21 year old girl; sadly for them, I'm not quite as stupid and young as they must have thought I was. Needless to say, they lost a $25k new car sale towards the end of the tax year. Lucky for me, I walked into Huffines a couple days before starting my new job and not only found the perfect sales rep, I found the perfect car too. Frank didn't treat me like a child. He treated me like a potential customer which is exactly why he made the sale. I'm not sure I've met a nicer sales rep or one whose more invested in the long term relationship with his customers. He was helpful before, during and after the sale. Helped answer questions about my Hyundai account and they made sure I knew how to squeeze every dollar out of the warranties I purchased. I'll forever be appreciative of Frank's help getting me in the right car in time to start my new job. No bullying. No bull. Just a friendly sales rep trying to help his customer.Wasted of time
by technojoe on 01/10/2014updated 11/28/2016I leased a car from here in 2011 and was told the I could do an early trade in if I brought the lease back to them around 6 months before it the lease was up. So I brought it back 2 months before my lease was up, and was refused the early… trade in because I was not on some list even though I had been sent mail solicitation to early trade-in my lease. When dealing with the finance guy, he constantly insulted me when talking the numbers on a new lease there. At first he said the residual was 52% but when I mentioned his competition was around 62% he said he had to check on that only to come back and say it was 59%. This told me he was not honest to begin with. Was treated like I was child with no money
by coonesn on 11/10/2015I was interested in getting a new car. I wanted to see my options, I really liked the Tucsons and the dealership was close to my apartment. I had been talking with Tommy, and before he even new anything about my current car he immediately… said you're not going to get anywhere close to the current payments you have. I still went anyways to check out the cars, he never ran a credit check on me, he just asked me if I knew my credit score, then took my car for an appraisal, asked the payoff amount, then went and "ran the numbers". I sat there for over 30 minutes in his office waiting for him to come back. He never told me what they appraised my car at (the KBB value is at around $14,200). He just said your payments will be at $650. (I can afford those payments, but seeing as how i'll be moving soon i'd rather spend the money on a nicer apartment than a car.) He tried to talk me out of the car I wanted into something else and not getting leather seats like I wanted. I'm not willing to pay more for a car, when it has pretty much the same features as my current car. They way he kept talking to me was like I was some little girl who was in there to spend Daddy's money, and wasn't worth his time. I make over 70K a year, and have a 750 credit score, and he wasn't willing to go over any type of numbers at all. I'm very disappointed as the only other dealership I've been too treated me with respect and helped me get something that I liked instead of insulting me. I definitely plan on getting a new Hyundai soon, but definitely won't be going here. I should have gone with a different sales agent, as they all seem to have really good reviews. My New Hyundai
by kayw22 on 06/16/2014We recently purchased a new Hyundai Santa Fe Limited from Huffines Hyundai Plano. Our sales representative was Mike M. and he was by far the best sales rep that we have ever dealt with. Mike was very patient and he was extremely… competent. He answered every question clearly and he was very knowledgeable about all of the features of the car. Besides being an expert sales rep, Mike was very friendly and personable and he immediately put us at ease. He made the whole car buying experience very enjoyable. I would recommend Mike to anyone who is looking for a new car. He's the best.Huffines Hyundai Plano - customer review.. and not a good one.
by huffinessux on 02/22/2010"Huffines Hyundai Plano - Got the run around... was treated very poorly and lost personal documents once handed over to salesperson that they were not willing to look for. Loss of these documents could result in me going to jail.. but that… was not the least bit important to my salesperson. I would suggest you go somewhere else, after 6 hours of my life wasted, i have a vulgar disgusting taste in my mouth for this company, while i may in the future by a Hyundai... it will not be from a Huffines Dealership.they lost my business after having bought 2 cars there
by itg on 02/12/2010Well, my husband and I have bought two new Hyundais from this dealership. When we decided to buy our 3rd Hyundai (Santa Fe), we wanted to offer them our business. In the negotiations for an SL model, they said they would take care of us… since we have bought 2 cars there, referred another friend who bought a car, and had another family member who had bought from them. Well, all in all, they didn't want to go down much in price on the SL model. I ended up finding a Limited model for only a little more at another dealership that was $6000 off the MSRP (versus the $2,000-3000 off Huffines was willing to go on a lower end model). This really made me feel Huffines wasn't that willing to earn my business (sadly). I did get a good deal with my first Hyundai there but not as a return customer--so they have lost my business. I will say Hyundai cars are great. My husband and I have had very little problems (if any) with our Hyundais. I'm a committed Hyundai owner due to the great warranty they offer and the great feel and price of the car.Great deal, pleasant experience - I highly recommend this dealership!
by hudy1 on 08/07/2009I had done lots of research online and received quotes from 3 dealerships before heading over to Huffines for test drives of the Accent and Elantra. My salesman, Mike, was friendly and helpful without the annoying pushiness that I've… experienced during visits to Honda and Toyota dealerships during the past few years. How refreshing! I returned home and emailed Mike several examples (ads and quotes) of recent Elantra deals and requested an OTD price taking into account my Clunker trade-in. He responded quickly and I gathered the necessary paperwork (proof of registration, proof of insurance, title) and headed on over. The entire process, including paperwork for my Clunker was much easier than I thought it would be. Mike did send me to the finance department to speak with Ryan. I was hesitant, expecting pressure, but was pleasantly surprised when Ryan offered better financing than my bank - 4.39% vs 5.64%.Avoid the Internet Sales Department
by molly_flash on 04/29/2009My husband and I went in to test drive a vehicle advertised on their website. The car was great, the saleman, not so much. The sad part is I knew more about it than he did. UGH! My hubby took it for a test drive while I was at work, the… sales guy did not want him on the highway in it. I test drove it after work, same problem. I drive on the highway, and want to know what it feels like at 65 mi/hr. So I got past that and really started talking numbers with the internet salesman, Eric Stoval. I ASKED MULTIPLE TIMES FOR THE PAYMENT AND INTEREST RATE INFO AND HE REFUSED!!! He said well, " I don't handle that part. The finance guys do once the deal is complete". I explained there would be no "complete deal" until I knew what kind of money we were talking. They have a no haggle price promise but I gues that means we don't discuss it at all.... I WALKED AND WILL NOT BE BACK!! How the heck are you gonna tell me that you can't give me even a ballpark monthly payment without having the down payment in your hand. I may be a girl but I am not dumb! I even told the guy I grew up working in a family ford dealership, and he still acted as if he knew nothing... bad service! I was paying 75% down and only financing 3 grand...which was slated to be paid off in June... he just lost a sale!I can definitely recommend Huffines!
by Ed_F on 11/29/2008After visiting several dealershps in North Dallas and Plano, my wife and I test drove a small number of vehicles. We weeded out some models based on the car and some based on the dealer personnel and their tactics. We decided on a Santa Fe… and since Huffines Hyundai was close by and had been commended by a neighbor who bought a Santa Fe also, it was our first choice. We had a simple and very pleasing experience with our sales person, Sherry A, and all the folks at the dealership. I had a clear idea of my budget and what I believed to be a fair deal. I got almost down to the last few dollars, certainly close enough to feel good about the deal. All this was done with a minimum of haggling and time. By the way, their website was well above average, as well. It had seemingly up to date info and was pretty easy to maneuver.Great Deal, Great Service, No Hassle
by morpheus299800 on 08/11/2008I spent a lot of time looking for cars on the internet and researching on edmunds. I went to one dealership and ended up leaving mad before I got smart and started using the edmunds feature where you can get quotes on a car from different… dealerships. Dan Bunch at Huffines Hyundai in Plano gave me the best quote of the three I got and then I emailed competitors to see if they could do better. I eventually got the price down to what I wanted and Dan at Huffines said they would match it with no hassles. I showed up wary of some hidden costs or schemes, but Dan was true to his word. I went and picked out the color I wanted with a sales consultant named Jonathan Cruz and took the car for a spin. Jonathan was great and didn't try any of the typical sales tricks. He was simply courteous and straightforward. When we got back,I got the price we agreed on and Jonathan didn't try to tack anything extra on the price or anything. He only asked me if I wanted to add tint to my windows. After that, Eric Gonzales did the financing stuff and got me a better rate than my bank had offered. Overall, I was very satisfied by the price, the excellent service, and the absence of hassling. Check out the pricing and talk to these guys.DO NOT GO TO THIS DEALERSHIP!!
by newhyundai on 04/19/2008I am so disappointed with this dealership I don't even know where to start! I went to the dealership to looking at Sante Fe's and then decided I wanted to buy a car instead of an SUV. I liked the Sonatas quite a bit and decided to take one… for a test drive. My main goal was to get a 2007 but since they had none I looked at the 2008. I did not want to spend alot of money but did want to get something with a little power, definitely a v6 and something with good gas mileage (which of course most Hyundai's do). I told the salesman that and he started showing me cars explaining that they only had a few 2008's left, one in the showroom and two or three on the lot. I test drove a black 2008 limited and really loved it and decided to get it. I called my husband and told him the offer I had made and what the car had in it. His first question was whether it was a v6 or not, since I had told the salesman I only wanted a v6 I assumed it was. The sticker was NOT on the car so I never actually got to see it. We purchased the car, and, the next day we came to pick it up. While we were sitting in the car with our salesman going thru all the things the car does, my husband specifically asked if it had dual exhausts and the sales man said of course. A few days later while my husband was going thru the manual he saw pictures of the motors and realized that we had the 2.4 and not the v6! Since he had very little to do with the actual purchasing and trusted me, he never looked under the hood or behind the car. The only reason he actually noticed that it was a 2.4 was because he had looked under the hood briefly to show a friend. He made the connection when he looked at the manual. I contacted the dealership immediately and talked to my salesperson and he said he would have a manager call me. The manager called and basically told me too bad, he was sorry, but it was a done deal. The taxes had already been paid etc., so it was too late. They didn't even try to see what we could do to trade vehicles, even a trade for a few more dollars would have been ok with me, but they wouldn't do it. Now I am stuck with a car I really don't want, feel like a complete idiot, and am just extremely unhappy. Don't by from HYUNDAI IN PLANO TEXAS, they don't care about people at all. All I wanted was to trade it for a v6 and they wouldn't even consider it. I am so embarrased, I researched cars very carefully and knew just what I wanted. I haven't purchased a new car since 1988 and when I finally do I end up with something I don't want and will never be happy with.Typical Car dealership
by bennytmw on 04/18/2008My GF and I visited Huffines in Plano to do some research on a car she was thinking of buying. We first walked out to look at all the cars they had in inventory, and a salesperson came out to meet us as we were looking. They asked us a… few questions, then started telling us about the car. We had done our research, and knew most of it, but listened anyway, just to see what they had to say. They were knowledgable and knew all the answers to our questions. They were patient with us, but they did use some cliche things to deter us from certain cars. We told them she was considereing a grade down from what we initiailly looked at, and they immediately started knocking the smaller size of the interior and the smaller engine as well. We also went and looked at some used cars. We had originally gone to do just that, but also wanted to see what their new car inventory was like. We were not impressed by their used cars selection or price. All cars were price way over what you can price them on edmunds. Some were marked up 30% or more!! We think they have a little section of marked up used cars they take you to if you ask to see them from looking at new cars just to keep you looking at the new cars. They confirmed this by saying we could get a new car for the same price as a used one sometimes. When we were ready to leave they tried to get us talking price, but we told them we were just there looking. They told us about Huffines pricing and how they give employee pricing to everyone that comes in. I work in retail sales, and I know that can't be true. Employee pricing is either done as a special order through the manufacturer at near cost or at a low percentage over dealer cost (usually somewhere in the neighborhood of 20% or so) We left and he was nice to us and joking a little as we were walking out.Best car-buying experience ever!
by robincruson on 07/23/2012updated 06/27/2025Having purchased several vehicles in my day I will say without any apprehension or reservation that buying a car from Huffines Hyundai, and specifically Douglas Peyton, is by far the best car buying experience I've ever had! Douglas never… gave off the impression that he was a Car Salesman just trying to make a buck -- completely opposite; Douglas made us feel welcomed. He took the time to ask the right questions AND THEN listened to what we had to say. Unlike other experiences I've had where I was being "steered" in the direction the sales person wanted me to go. Douglas took the information we gave him and then made suggestions based on that intel. Additionally, Douglas' knowledge about the Hyundai models is impressive. Again, he took the time to show us EVERYTHING the Santa Fe had going for it -- no minor detail/feature was ignored. By the time we test drove the vehicle I/we (my wife and I) didn't have that unfamiliar feeling you usually have when test driving a car; we felt comfortable. Finally, the actual sales process... AMAZING how Douglas worked FOR us, and not just for the benefit of himself or Hyundai. He went above and beyond the call of duty to get us a great deal, and because we would be considered a "challenge" credit-wise, the end results were awesome!Wow! We could not have asked for a better review! Thank you for taking the time to write this review, Robin! I am so happy to hear that Doug and the rest of the Huffines team made your experience with Huffines Hyundai Plano an unforgettable one. Here at Huffines we strive to go above and beyond our customers' expectations and I am pleased to hear we were able to achieve that with you. I hope you are enjoying your new Hyundai Santa Fe! We appreciate your recommendation, and we hope to see you in the future! Best, Roosevelt May General Manager
Helpful, courteous, pricey
by texased1 on 07/22/2013updated 06/27/2025The salesman was friendly, courteous and not helpful. Although in line with Dallas' dealer prices, their offer was significantly higher than two Fort Worth dealers.Great sales experience

wasted afternoon
by jfred on 11/08/2011updated 06/27/2025I have previously purchased several cars here and their location is convenient, so when I wanted a 2012 Equus, I went to them. I was totally armed with prices and value of my trade in from information at Edmunds and other on-line folks. I… knew exactly what I wanted and made that very clear to them. After a pleasant test drive, they kept me hanging for several hours (back and forth from sales person to the sales manager). I thought I was in a time warp- back to the old haggle days. After about 2-3 hours the sales manager actually grabbed my note papers out of my hand and disappeared. I was shocked to the roots. After another 30 minutes I told another salesman who was nearby to tell them I was leaving, and I did. They told me the reason they took so long was they were trying to get a price for my trade in. (I assume from a wholeseller). This is really strange, since I had a 15,000 mile Genesis in showroom condition as a trade and their used car lot was practically empty of cars to sell, so I couldn't imagine they wouldn't sell my Genesis themselves and (according to Edmunds) get a nice profit on that car plus I was paying LIST on the Equus. I went to Absolute Hyundai and got the exact deal I wanted OVER THE PHONE from their internet person!

I think that the more the MSRP of a car is, the more they can come down on the price, because there's more markup there to bargain with. But from everything I've read on car buying, it doesn't really matter how much they come down from the MSRP; what matters is how much OVER the lower invoice you get (there are two invoice prices...one that the dealer will show you sometimes, and the real one.). The MSRP is an arbitrary figure, is what I've read. It's the invoice amount that matters. But if you're going by MSRP, you'll get $1,500 off if you get 5% off the MSRP of a $30K car, but you'll get $1,750 off a $35K car for 5% off. Consumer Reports online has an add'l "cars" subscription; it will give you all info you need to know on pricing, incl. true invoice price, etc. There are other ways to get that info, too, which are free (I think truecar is one). I also know someone who didn't go to the dealer at all. She did her research, test drove the car at some point. Then decided what options she wanted and what she wanted to pay. Then she got bids online from local dealerships. She accepted one, then went to pick up her car. It was already negotiated, so no haggling. She had done the Consumer Reports subscription, she said.
