My experience with them was not the greatest. I'm still waiting on title to… get to the bank that financed me. Finance department is not good at following through or returning phone calls. It should have been so simple!
by DKC on 05/08/2017I needed two new keys, because the plastic bodies were cracking (they're the type with the door clickers in the key body). Simple, right? The service writer quoted $275 (which is actually less than I expected), and said it would take an… hour, maybe an hour and ten minutes, because they were really busy. I waited an hour, and he came to me and said he would go find out the status. Fifteen minutes later, he asked if I wanted a #1 key and a #2 key, or two #1 keys. I wanted a #1 and a #2, but twenty minutes after that, he said they were out of #2 key blanks and asked if I wanted one #1 key or two #1 keys. I said two #1 keys. Fifteen minutes after that, he came back to me and said they only had one key blank in stock, and they would be starting very soon. I told him I was running out of time, and I needed to leave very soon. He responded that they were about to start. Fifteen minutes after that, I went back to him and said I needed to leave immediately. At that time, he told me my car was under recall for the air bag inflator, and the parts were in stock to take care of it. I reiterated that I had no time, and he asked me to sign a waiver that said he had offered to address the recall and I had refused. I did not sign the waiver, and I asked for my car so I could go. He disappeared into the shop. I went to the shop door (customers are generally not allowed in shop areas, so I stayed outside the door) and told him again that I needed to leave immediately. He said they were about to start programming the key and it would take a few minutes. I really had to go, and I yelled at the service writer and the technician to stop what they were doing and give me my car so I could leave. I yelled repeatedly, "I have to leave NOW!" and they finally pulled my car out of the shop, breaking my old (already cracked) key in the process. It should have been so simple. They should have checked the parts as soon as they go the car, and let me know how long it would take to get a #2 key blank from the distributor or from another location, and I could have chosen to wait, come back, or settle for a single #1 key and come back another day for the #2 key. Instead, I waited 2-1/2 hours and ended up with nothing.Straight forward transaction

Avoid this dealership

After waiting almost 3 weeks to test drive a Honda Accord Touring edition, I went to 2 other dealers. The other dealers truly wanted my business.… At Russell & Smith, no one wanted to talk to you or even make eye-contact. REMEMBER - Do not buy a car at Russell & Smith until you go visit other Honda car dealers in Houston. I got much better pricing from the 2 other dealers that I visited. The other dealers have exceptional customer service and really worked to earn my business. It made Russell & Smith look pretty crummy. I bought a new car yesterday at another dealership. In summary, Russell & Smith was where I wanted to buy my new car. But I guess they did not want my business so I went elsewhere.GT is the man!

The price that they offer was reasonable too, no hidden fees, or they do not run bunch of hard inquiries like the other… places (John Eagle Honda - we had bad experience with) without informing you. Highly recommend this place if you are looking for car. Look for GT too, the salesperson who help us out, he's pretty good.The staff is always happy to see that our customers are taken care of, so we try to run credit as little as possible to get the best deals. We're glad to see that GT and the finance team were able to secure you a deal so easily. Congratulations on your new addition and we look forward to helping you even more in the future!

Accord purchase experience

We meet half way on our negotiation which I believed is reasonable and fair on both sides. Great… experience. This is my third time to use this dealership. Finance encounter is amazing. Very passionate to explain the numbers and selling additional product. He was very knowledgeable of the car I was shopping for, and truth be told, this was the biggest factor in my decision to… purchase the car from them. Right from the beginning of the test drive, he explained and demonstrated the keyless entry, remote start, android auto, brake hold, and voice commands, to name a few. These were essentials and the biggest features coming from my 10-year old car. He went top to bottom, explaining every button and features. Any additional questions I had, such as which gas to use, different ways of unlocking the doors and trunk, what nitrogen tires were, and additional accessories, were thoroughly answered. Both GT and Dino worked diligently with me to make sure I got the best price for the car. In the finance office, Kelvin and Karan were more than patient and answered every question I had about the warranties and other coverage offered. All of them went above and beyond to make sure I was satisfied before signing anything. By far the cleanest and nicest looking dealership I've been to. The holiday music was a nice touch as well. It was very bright and pleasing while I was at the dealership. I really like how the service department is attached and in the same building as the rest of the office. Other dealerships usually have them separated, and their service buildings look like they came from a different decade.New Honda Accord 2017
