Great service
Wonderfully fantastic!
by echineses on 08/06/2015From the minute I walked through the doors, everyone working at First Texas Honda was friendly and welcoming. I was a little early for my appointment, but the product specialist I was meeting with was ready to go. He was super polite and… friendly and didn't make me uncomfortable, as this was my first car purchase. I really like how this place is a no haggle dealership because there wasn't the stress of throwing prices back and forth. The appointment was relatively quick and efficient. The guy told me all the facts and figures, answered all of my questions and didn't once pressure me into buying a car. Overall, a great experience and I ended up getting the car I came out to see. I definitely recommend going to First Texas Honda for any of your car needs or future purchases.First TX Honda Service
by hshaikh2 on 07/31/2015I am very pleased with with service I have received over last two years from this dealership. Special thanks to Anthony H. and David H. I hope they continue excellent service practices.Great experience
by laurainaustin on 07/22/2015Our salesperson was awesome from the moment we stepped in the door to the showroom, to handing me the keys to my new (used) car! I will recommend First Texas Honda to all my friends and family. Everyone there was great and we felt… comfortable through the whole process. Thanks so much for a great car and a great experience!Long-term customer still impressed with First Texas service
by Bill_in_ATX on 06/09/2015I've bought three cars from First Texas Honda since 1999 and with a few exceptions, First Texas has done all the maintenance and repair work on those cars. The dealership is approx 15 miles from my home so on a few occasions I've had oil… changes done at shops closer by, simply for convenience. I do so with apprehension since I have trust in First Texas but less so with oil change specialty shops. Honda reliability and First Texas Honda's solid service department have enabled me to keep a 15 year old Accord going in very good condition. Just yesterday I had a brake job and some other work done, and the final price was LESS than the estimate. Love it when that happens. Have worked with various service advisors over the years and many of them are still working there, a testament to the caliber of the shop. Most recently, Trudy has been my service advisor and she is fantastic - knowledgable, experienced, and a great person to work with. Absolutely trustworthy, open and honest. Even though I'm naturally skeptical and it would be easy for me to not trust a dealership, I'm truly satisfied with the First Texas Honda service department and appreciate the way they have cared for my cars over 15 years now.dishonest place
by 1ripoffdealer on 04/29/2015First Texas Honda sent coupon for the oil change service . standard models price for $18.95, and ow-20 oil price for $21.95 I called before I go there for the oil change. They remind me " bring the coupon" After the oil change ,… they charged me $36.87. I showed the cashier the coupon. He ignored it. and still want me paid full amount. First Texas Honda service # 5940 .....04/29/2015.....11-44:11 This is scam and rip me off.Fantastic!
by lisamacauley on 04/06/2015We purchased a new Odyssey over the weekend. We were very pleased with the experience from the start to finish. The staff we encountered in each department were very knowledgeable, courteous and thorough. We feel they all were looking… out for our best interest and they never once tried to force-sell us something we didn't want. Although we bought several options, they were the ones that were important to us; no pushing from the sales rep. Everyone took their time to explain everything to us, up to and including programming our cell phones to the vehicle and showing us how to use it. We'd highly recommend First Texas Honda to anyone!thee only place to buy a car
by debra33 on 02/02/2015This is my 2nd purchase in 5 years at this dealership. I am a professional woman, and in the past I have felt that buying a car was stepping back in time 50 years: the salesmen would talk to me about the vanity mirror or how the interior… matched my hair. Not here. This is a thoroughly modern dealership that treats women like they are intelligent. Every interaction I've had with them--buying both cars, and once getting a warranty repair done--has been helpful, courteous, efficient, modern. This is how buying a car in the 21st century should feel. I got the best car for the best price, and the best interest rate. I know I did because I researched everything before I shopped, and I'd been to another dealership first. I needed a car, and I drove one away in 3 hours. I appreciate the lack of schmooze. The no-haggle pricing is great. I did haggle about the interest rate they initially presented because I knew my bank could do better. In 5 minutes, they matched it. I couldn't recommend this dealership more. I bought a car. I din't "get sold" a car.Best car buying experience EVER! What this should be like, always!
by ynot3d on 12/22/2014A truly enjoyable experience. Their fast, fair and friendly is true. I worked with only one person, no smoke & mirrors or hocus-pocus. This is what buying a car should really be like. Everything was clear and had zero fear in anything… they said or did. I was looking for a car to buy my son for his 18th birthday. They found a perfect match and what was even better, they were able to establish a loan with my son name on it. Thanks to Jeanie, Christian, Tyler and Chris for making my son's 18th birthday even more exciting. AND the coffee, WOW they have good coffee, really good coffee. I ate breakfast there and they invited me to do it everyday if I like. I wish I could take them up on that. There is a warmth and/or family feeling you get just walking in the store. Much like a small "mom & pop" business that you just know, they have the customers best interest first. This is the 2nd car I have purchased from 1st Texas and I drive from Houston to do so.Superb Salesman Christian M.
by Rakel208 on 08/21/2014I want to express my gratitude to Salesman Christian M. His professionalism and friendly demeanor was truly appreciated. Buying a car is stressful and he helped me by answering questions I didn't even know I had. His undivided attention… during my time at the dealership was stellar. I'm a returning customer to First Texas Honda and will come back and refer friends.Awesome Staff!
by Nan111 on 08/17/2014I was very happy with my purchase. The staff at First Texas Honda were great. I appreciate how Ken and John even stayed with me after hours to finish the sale and explain the workings of my new car! Great place to shop!Great experience at First Texas Honda
by CollieQueen on 07/10/2014THe salesperson was very friendly and helped us get a great deal on a new 2014 Honda Accord Ex-L. They gave me fair trade on my 8 year car that was the Trade in value from Edmunds. First Texas Honda had the best deal over 4th of July… weekend than any other dealer in town.just dont ask for JEFF S.

No show on my schedule delivery my new honda. * Michael C. reap me off on tint window. * my new honda near empty gas tank when i drove home * my purchased experience at first texas honda was the worst… experience everExcellent Service Department
by austiniter on 01/08/2008I didn't buy my car from this dealership, but took it to them for all service work as I was told by friends this dealership had the best service department (mainly service manager) and they were right. This service department is the best,… most reliable, and honest. I've taken my 2007 CR-V back now a number of times for regular maintenance, warranty work etc... and so far I'm 101% happy. I would definitely recommend this dealership for service compared to any others in Austin.I took my 04 Honda Element to this dealership after I bought it pre-owned from a non-Honda dealership. In fact, I took the Element in because of a TSB issued on the car - a widely reported problem here on Edmunds as well as in the Element community - the driver's seat rocked and could eventually come unanchored. The 1st Service Advisor told me that Honda did not pay for TSB repairs (though the Element Forum reported that many dealers got Honda good will money toward this very TSB.) I asked to talk to the Service Manager, and this advisor told me that the Manager would be unsympathetic because I didn't buy the car from their dealership! This service advisor also told me that one of my tires was damaged - something to do with the inner belt. Since the tires were relatively new, I told him i was going to take the Element back to Discount Tire and replace the faulty tire. The advisor gave me a piece of paper, indicating which of the tires was bad. When I took the car to Discount Tire, they inspected that tire and found nothing wrong with it. The inspected the other tires, and ended up replacing a different tire. I asked Discount to call this Honda service advisor, and he suggested that he may have pointed out the wrong tire to me because they had rotated the tires! I wrote up this experience and left 3 messages for the Service Manager. Eventually, he called me back - when I emailed me and cc'd the dealership owner. He called to apologize, applied for a Honda "good will" toward the TSB, and eventually gave me a credit for future service. This was my first Honda and I was very disappointed because I thought Honda's were reliable and that their dealers were great. Definitely don't offer the level of service as Volvo or Caddy dealers do.
Rude, dishonest salesperson at First Texas Honda in Austin, TX
by accordbuyer1 on 09/21/2007Went looking to buy a new Accord. Salesman Chris Luke of First Texas Honda in Austin, TX did a poor job of showing me the car's features, insisted that he could never go below invoice (a blatant lie and an insult to my intelligence), got… hostile with me, called me a liar, and refused to let me talk to his manager. I took my business elsewhere and bought the Accord from another dealer. I will say, however, that I had a terrific experience with Jolene Caldwell, finance manager, when I was shopping around for the best price on an extended warranty. This leaves me wondering if perhaps there are some other good employees at this dealer. I would advise to avoid salesman Chris Luke, but it is possible you could have a good experience if dealing with First Texas Honda's other employees. Best route is probably to call and talk to the internet sales manager about the price before you go to the dealer (if you know exactly which car you want from previous browsing) and only go to the dealer if you hear a price you like when you are on the phone. This prevents anyone from thinking they can pressure you into buying a car on the spot while offering an uncompetitive price (when you are on the phone you obviously can call many dealers in just a few minutes time and only visit the dealer who is upfront about making a great offer). I would recommend this dealer if you are shopping around for the best price on an extended warranty -- definitely worth a call to a finance manager at this dealer to see if they can beat the other prices you have been quoted when calling around to find the best price on an extended warranty. Please accept my apology on behalf of the Management Staff. First Texas Honda has new commitments and our top priorities include an Honesty and Integrity policy. Training for all employees is mandatory and observation is handled by management and you the customer. Please let me assure you all sales representatives are to follow the business process in place to ensure an EXCELLENT buying experience for the customer. Thank you for the kind words on Jolene Caldwell. Jennifer Reyes Customer Relations Manager
Scary used car dealership
by 2509 on 08/12/2007I had a bad experience at this dealership several days ago. One car that I looked at had a "check engine" light on. The other car had a "check airbag" warning light on. The salesman said they sell so many hondas that they don't bother to… fix those problems before they sell them. Both cars were selling for more than $1000 above Kelley blue book value. I did much better elsewhere. Please allow me to introduce myself, My name is Gary Coen I am the new Used Car Sales Manager at First Texas Honda since 1/1/2008. Kindly accept my apologies for the readiness and the condition of the inventory when you visited us, this in no way reflects the way I am running the department and shouldn't have been that way then. If I can be of service to you and personally assist you in the future please feel free to contact me any time. Gary Coen Used Car Manager First Texas Honda
Not even considering honda after visiting this dealership
by patanntsai on 08/02/2007We visited this dealership recently to look at the 2007 Honda CR-V. The salesman didn't tell us anything helpful about the CR-V, instead he was busy asking us what kind of car we drove and how this car was better than my beloved 10 year… old car (not a good way to sell me a car). Lastly, he wouldn't really let us test drive the vehicle. He let us take it around the block. Hardly enough to make a 25K decision on. Needless to say, we're not even considering the CR-V anymore. I have a sour taste in my mouth after that experience. After reviewing your comments I would like to apologize for having this one negative experience spoil the Honda brand in your eyes. Please be assured what you experienced was unprofessional our salesman's part. The 2006 / 2007 CRV model change was 'HUGE' for us. These hot commodities were limited so the sales staff tended to put the pressure on customers. We now have MANY 'hot commodities' and have trained the sales staff to maintain their professionalism and to help the customer with their 2nd largest purchase they will have to make. Please know we strive to have loyal customers and this feedback helps us better our team. Thanks again Jennifer Reyes Customer Relations Manager
Very pleasant & professional experience
by dsquard7 on 04/22/2014updated 06/10/2025We were very pleased with the courteous, professional and pleasant experience of buying a new car at First Texas Honda recently. I particularly like the no haggle pricing and the courteous, professional and informative interactions with the… staff, without once feeling like we were being pressured. We truly felt like we were getting help to get the right vehicle for us at a budget we were comfortable with. Thank you! Keep up the good work.Good Service, Nice Check In Process. Thanks!
by ekrekel on 07/28/2013updated 06/10/2025I took our CR-V in for warranty repairs(warped rotors and a possible leaking driveaxle seal). We purchased at the old location and this was our first visit to the new facility. When we pulled in there were about 25-30 cars lined up in 3… lanes. My wife called the previous day asking about the repair and was told we didn't need an appointment. Initially I wasn't too happy to see so many cars lined up without having an appointment, but we entered one of the lines and waited, after about 5 minutes we were still in the back of the line and a valet worker came by to ask why we came in. We told him our problem and he gave us a colored car topper so the right Honda service personnel could discuss our issue further. Looking at the car toppers we figured we were 6th in line instead of 30th. We waited in out car for about 15 minutes then the service rep came by to check us in. We drove 2 cars so we didn't have to wait while they worked. In all I was impressed with the check in process. In past experiences with other dealers if there were that many people waiting to check in it'd be much longer, we waited about 20 minutes in the comfort of our own car. Around 2 the service rep called and said they turned the rotors, checked the seal and the car was ready for pickup. Checkout was pretty simple, just a signature for the warranty work. We didn't take advantage of it, but they offered complimentary coffee/latte/cappuccino and snacks to people waiting for service. Tips: If possible plan to drop the car off and have someone pick you up while they work. They had a quick service lane, I assume it's for oil changes, but you may want to ask about it. We were told an appointment wasn't necessary, but I'd ask again next time. I'll be taking it back in to check on the seal in a few weeks, but have been happy with their service.Pleasant Experience!!
by Retired_dad on 03/21/2014updated 06/10/2025This is my second purchase from this dealership, the first in '06 for purchase of Odyssey. This purchase was for a beginner car for my daughter, an '07 Civic. Jules is a "jewel" to work with, like part of our family, and the facilities are… first class. Would recommend Jules and this dealership to anyone wanting to make a stress free purchase. They sell used cars as new, be careful
by austint1 on 07/01/2011updated 06/10/2025I just wanted to share my experience with First Texas Honda to prevent others from feeling taken advantage of like our family was. We purchased a "new" car from them earlier this month that had 420 miles on it. We asked why there were so… many miles on the car and were told by our sales person that they used this car for test drives. We accepted this answer as truth and purchased the car at full new car price since we wanted a car this color and could not find it at other Honda dealers in the Austin area. That night I went through the owner's manual and found a form stating that this car had been previously sold to another buyer 6 weeks before we purchased the vehicle. We sent an email that evening to the sales person to ask her if she had sold us a previously owned (used) car at a new car price. We were told that indeed the car had been sold to another buyer and within a few weeks of purchasing the car, she realized that she could not afford the payments on the car and returned it to First Texas Honda. We promptly asked to return the car or be compensated since we were sold a new car that was in fact used. We were then told the legal definition of a new car in the State of Texas is "under 600 miles and have never been titled". Legally I guess that they are right under Texas law however I feel this is immoral especially when we asked the reasoning behind the 420 miles and we were lied to being told that these were put on by test drives. Bottom line, don't trust these people. They are immoral and will twist the truth to sell you a car, new, used or otherwise.
