by Donthaveone on 03/07/2023I had a scheduled 15000-mile oil change, second for my new vehicle. Both completed at AutoNation in Austin, TX. Upon returning home, I checked the oil level and it was 2.5-inches ABOVE full level. I proceeded to begin draining oil, only… to discover that the oil drain plug hex (15mm) was sharp, burrs, gnarly, abused. I drained 38 ounces of oil (more than one quart) to bring it down to the full level. The oil appears dark and dirty to me. The "Next oil change due" tag was filled out to be due the day before this service change was completed. So my tangible evidence (I retain all of it) of more than a quart of dirty oil, incorrect service tag, and damaged hex on the oil drain plug, have completely destroyed all confidence and faith in the AutoNation/Austin service department. I now do not know if they changed the oil, or if they changed the filter, or put in the correct oil type. I don't even know if this is my original oil drain plug, since this is only the second oil change and shows such wear and abuse (looks like a Vise-Grip or Channel Lock were used on it). I visited the service department to speak with the mechanics shop supervisor, but was told he was in training and that I could wait until it was over. So I left after attempting and failing to buy a new drain plug from the parts department I still have four oil changes available to me as part of my purchase plan of my Equinox from said AutoNation. I cannot allow my new, one year old vehicle (2022) to be put in this level of danger as over-filling the engine oil can cause seals to fail. Too bad. I had looked forward to two years of not having to change my oil, but now I am forced to change my own oil again. I bought a new drain plug from Carquest, researched oil filter part numbers, correct oil, and will be changing my oil before the week is out. Inspection
by KKKKKKK on 01/05/2023My vehicle was in for a yearly Registration inspection, tire rotation, fluid check, and oil change. More work was done than I was initially expecting but I was asked ahead of all extra work and gave my approval. I try to trust that it was… all necessary. No familiar faces left after decades of using AutoNation, that is a disappointment. I especially miss Patrick in Service and Wallace Lundgren. It appeared that the workforce is much less than a year ago which doesn’t help my confidence level. Price seemed high but probably no more than average in today's economy. Since I now live in Leander, arrangements were made by my… Houston AutoNation salesman (Kevin Wesson) to have the parts transferred to Austin AutoNation. Jaden Selucky in the service department took over and did a fantastic job in making sure the parts were in at the Austin store, introduced me to Dusty Bingham, Parts Dept Manager ,and kept me informed as to the installation process..including afterwards with a follow-up call. 2020 Chevrolet Bolt Recalls

There were no charges for the work, because the work to be done was paid for by GM, as both recalls were free to Chevrolet owners/leasers.… I'm very happy to have the newer, more safe battery, and the service advisor, Jaden, was also up on the newer recall of which I had no prior knowledge. Both recalls were completed, as I said before, quickly, competently, and efficiently.We appreciate you taking the time to leave us a response! Transmission replacement customer 2016 suburban

I was stranded at the Austin Heart Hospital with my Mom and Dad in the hospital. Jaden guided me… through what to do about a tow. What the Estimated cost would be for a GM rebuilt transmission. Explained the 3 year, 100,000 mile warranty and got my vehicle back to me sooner than expected. Just took delivery of my new truck in the middle of November. George was a great partner during this… ordeal. He is a customer oriented kind of guy. I enjoyed working with him. Karla made me a verbal offer at the start and stayed true to it. Other dealers were demanding MSRP plus.
