I have no problem with the product, "however" the sales staff were given a specific list of requirements, as to the equipment I desired on my truck-- I did not leave with the truck I originally was looking for! They talked me into a far fancier truck with less capacity (150 instead of a 350)? It didn't have a tow package, but it did have leather interior. It didn't have vinyl floor, bit it did have Carbon Fiber and a big stereo! They floated numbers at such a rapid rate that I was totally lost by the time we signed the papers. They did have discounts and a reasonable final price, after my trade in (a 2006 srt-10) they pushed the insurance and other add ons--to jack the final price up--- would i buy another ford? Yes--would i buy it from beaverton ford?? H-e-l-l n-o!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Robert weller [violative content deleted]

Quick and easy via internet if you know what you want and know really what the vechile is worth. Even my trade in value from the dealer was reasonable. The longest wait was for the finance guy to be available.

Most dissatisfied purchase experience ever. Fast-talking salesperson was a "stone's" throw from reality. Dealer did not repair all that was written, even though the repairs were nominal. Salesman then "split hairs" on written IOU about what was written and promised. Then his manager was doing the same, when the issue was escalated. Service was then giving me the runaround, then told me the salesman did not authorize these. We had another issue with the trade-in value. Ultimately, we spoke to GM, who compromised with us on a pivotable repair concern. However, I would recommend him also. The Finance Mgr was no help in this process also, as he was merely a clerk with a Mgt name, who wouldn't return phone calls. Fortunately, the used car was generally cared for. Damerow Ford was the most miserable experience I could ever imagine. I would rather consider a used car lot. This place brings shame to the Ford name. Damerow doesn't care about their customers, they are just chasing numbers. I won't visit this place for anything that isn't absolutely critical for this car. Just so you know, our other car is a 2011 mercedes. The Mercedes dealer treats us very well. That dealer has also heard horror stories about Damerow. For any service matters, I go to the other Ford locations. I strongly recommend against visiting Damerow.
  • Overall good, but watch out for last minute "options"

Overall our buying experience at Damerow Ford was good. I would like to highlight two encounters that somewhat tarnished an otherwise outstanding experience. Both of our somewhat negative encounters have to do with last minute attempts by Damerow Ford personnel to sell us products that would add to the price of our chosen vehicle. We had ordered a vehicle approximately four weeks before the delivery date, and were in contact with Damerow during that entire period, so there was ample time and opportunity for them to let us know of other products they were offering. We would have then had time to consider these offerings and decide whether they were something we would like to invest in or not. However, we were not given that opportunity. The first product offered at the last minute was a "Northwest Protection Package," that included a polymer paint sealant for the exterior, and some kind of interior protectant. We were told that the normal price was $1,495, but that if we signed up that day, as new customers our price would be "only" $995. The strategy was to first tell us we had a problem: "Your car has a bad paint job", then to say that only Damerow Ford had the solution. We had to make the decision right then. There was no brochure, or any other data provided on what the protection package would involve. The salesman did not even know what products were used other than "polymer." We declined that offer. Later, I did some checking and found that ordinary auto detailing shops apply polymer sealants for as little as $50, guaranteed for two years. If what Damerow was offering really was worth 20 times more than what the detail shops offer (40 years of protection??), it would be nice to know what it is, so that we could make an informed decision. The salesman helpfully told us about all the other options we could order with the car, so why not mention this as well? It just seemed a little "fishy" to us, and we are glad we didn't go along with his suggestion. The second somewhat negative encounter we had was when we spoke to the finance person regarding financing for the car. Again we were told we had a problem, and only Damerow Ford had the solution. The problem was that we were buying a highly technically advanced vehicle, and that repairs are extremely expensive. The solution was a Ford Extended Service Plan. When we asked if we could buy the plan later after doing some research, we were told that as soon as the registration information goes through the DMV, the car is considered a "used car" and the only kind of plan we could buy at that time would be a used car ESP, that would be much less favorable. Therefore we needed to decide right then whether we were going to buy one or not. This time we went along with the suggestion and added $2235 to our finance contract for the 7 year 75,000 mile, $100 deductible plan. Later, I checked the Ford website, and found that customers can buy a new car contract any time within the first year or 12,000 miles of the car's life, with no surcharge added to the cost. So what we were told at Damerow was untrue. Furthermore, we could buy exactly the same contract directly from Ford for less than the price Damerow charged us. For these reasons, we immediately called Damerow Ford and requested a cancellation of the ESP. We are now waiting for a refund to be sent to our lien holder, but are told by Damerow that it could take up to 90 days. In conclusion, we want to say again that overall we had a very good experience purchasing a vehicle through Damerow Ford. They offered a very good price on the vehicle of our choice, and went out of their way to find one in regional inventory that matched our requirements. They did not charge us for the dealer swap they had to initiate in order to get the vehicle. We were just a little bit disappointed that we were presured, a bit dishonestly, to purchase a couple of options that would have added over $3,000 to the price of the car. Please beware!

We were treated with courtesy and fairness. I explained what we were looking for in our purchase agreement after the test drive. Within 30 minutes we had purchased a nice used F 150 King Ranch for my wife.

Sales person said document fee only and ended up adding window etching to the price of the car. I didn't catch it until after the sale had occurred. Sales person never called back about tracking down a place to buy a 2nd key. Would not recommend this dealership for purchasing a vehicle. I've bought plenty of new and used vehicles from dealers and can tell the good ones and bad ones. This is one of the bad ones!

We saw a used Mazda3 advertised on their website and decided to look at it closer. Upon entering their lot we were greeted by Alec. He was very helpful. We drove the car and one other car. He answered our questions to the best of his knowledge. He was a fairly new employee so I was not expecting him to have all the knowledge on a vehicle that was not a Ford to begin with. Once we decided we liked the car I wanted to see what they would give us for a trade in and price on the vehicle. Here comes the ratty part of the process. I am willing to play the negotiating game to some extent, but after 2 hours its ridiculous! And first off, I was offended and insulted that they would offer to give me $3000 below blue book for my trade in! When I had already done my homework and knew what my vehicle was worth. Secondly, they would not budge on the sticker price of the Mazda either. Bottom line, I was able to get them to take more for my vehicle, (less then bluebook) but I feel they got the better deal, and if a dealership is willing to try and deceive you on these things; that tells me they are not being fully honest with the whole process. Second gripe. I had told them I was already preapproved through my credit union. They said no problem and that they work with that CU all the time. But they insisted we fill out credit applications. I disputed but finally gave in. Later I found out from my CU I was correct that they did NOT need to run credit checks. Which by the way, dinged my credit score down by 11 points! Later when we went into to do the payment paperwork, the guy in there Yossef? Had a payment contract filled out with much higher interest rate than what I had been quoted from my CU! More debating, and he finally agreed for me to bring a check in the next day and he would tear up the contract. Bottom line, there was a lot of questionable business tactics with this place that show the low level of integrity. If car businesses want repeat business, they must not use these old style sales tactics. With the Internet and reviews, they will just hurt their business in the long run. Being up front and honest all the way is the only way they will become #1. I would recommend Alec the salesmen, but I have to say IMO the other staff members were your typical high pressure sleight of hand individuals that we all try to avoid.

It's been quite a few years since I've purchased an new car. But going through NewCar and then dealing with Chris at the dealership was pretty painless. I had seen very negative reviews on another site (Yelp), but I didn't experience any of the problems those folks allegedly did.
  • Factory Ordered (2013 Fusion Hybrid)

My beautiful wife drives a 2004 Saturn L300 in excellent condition and my old car was a 2002 Saturn SL (which I still love and have handed down in my family due to high mileage). Being a token Saturn family, we were faced with the sad reality that Saturns are not available in newer models... SO..., I did my research and looked at MANY cars, as I knew I was going to be keeping this next one for a while too. That's when I found the 2013 Fusion Hybrid. Looked luxurious and got reportedly better MPG than my Saturn (which was 33-39MPG). BIG REQUIREMENT for any replacement vehicle, which really narrowed the field even after 10-11 years of time. The only issue was that I was not planning on settling for any trade-offs on this new vehicle as I tend to keep them for a while; I wanted exactly what I wanted in the car and gave about 6 Dealers the chance to find it. Being military I believed that allowing a buyer program through my bank was the way to go as it gave me a break in cost. That meant an e-purchase though, which I'm not a fan of in general as I can't get to know the personalities behind the sale. Upside is that I saw more of the personalities than I thought I would. I can tell you which dealerships were stalling for new inventory, which hadn't looked and which decided I was too particular and didn't want my business. After a few offers of 95% solutions being turned down, Damerow Ford in Beaverton was the first to tap out and tell me that a Custom Order was extremely likely. Despite this, I gave the other Dealers some extra (soon to be discovered, wasted) time. That's when I went back to the ones whom knew the reality and weren't afraid to tell me. Mind you, this is a big deal in the car industry because that means that I would need to wait for the order which took around 11 weeks (over the Winter Holidays). That negates the impulse buy aspect. On the flip side, also a big deal for me since I am military stationed in a different state and needed a heads up to fly up and get the vehicle from my state of residence - OR. (Praise be no sales tax!). So the order went in ... wait... status update ... wait ... and then the long awaited call came in with delivery confirmed. After the call, I arrange with my command to fly up later that week in the only very small window I could manage to retrieve the car. Timing is everything and I was concerned that some inconsistency on the dealership's end would delay an otherwise well planned retrieval. My concerns were completely baseless -- Damerow Ford came through though in every sense! From when my flight landed at 7:30pm, my father (whom picked me up) and I went straight to the Dealership which was open until 9pm. Now I had already scheduled to get the car at opening the next day, but was reassured that I could go see her as she was stowed overnight in their service garage to keep her in pristine delivery shape for the next morning. So we stopped off. While not planned, but offered, I hadn't expected much of a warm welcome from the late night staff or even much of an acknowledgement. I was waaay off. The first salesman that walked up introduced himself and I informed him that I was picking up my car the next morning and he smiled, knew my name and walked us over to where she was housed for the night. Being that this was the first time that I had seen her, we looked at everything. The Salesman politely recognized that the situation was well in hand and backed away giving us 10-20min of time to check her out. No pressure, no small talk, no sense of frustration in dealing with another salesman's customer (whom he'd not be making any money from)... nothing. Just professional courtesy that I had assumed dead in the industry. Elated, as she was everything I had intended and hoped for, we turned in for the night. Returning the next morning, my concerns arose again as I prepared for some protracted sales process, when I really needed to hit the road for my drive south back to my home station in CA. I was prepped knowing that they opened an hour earlier than the finance guy was scheduled to arrive and that we'd have to kill some time, but much to my surprise, my salesman (Dale Monahan) had already smoothed that hiccup out by asking if the finance guy was able to come a little earlier due to my rare circumstances. I'm sure that a morning coffee and doughnut were bought in trade, but it happened and he was in about 7 minutes after we were. Process went quickly and smoothly despite my desire for custom Crater Lake vanity plates. ;) I was on the road early enough to make Redding (CA) an early stop and drive through the next morning to my command. This is an uncommon situation handled very professionally by a top-notch dealership. I write this with no reservation as to my sincerity and have already spoken to a few other Oregonian service members about the experience. I fully expect that they may be asked to repeat the process in the near term :) The car is amazingly beautiful and the buzz it is creating down here in CA is generating a lot of discussion. In every conversation and test drive though, Damerow Ford is getting their reputation out there... because they earned it and I'm all about ensuring a good turn is rewarded. - It will be back up in the area later this year for my 20yr HS reunion, and we'll probably swing by Damerow, just to say "Thank You" again...

Received an email that I was "in luck" because they had a car available on the lot that met all my requirements. Made an appointment with the guy for the next day at 10 am and he confirmed with "see you then." The next morning I showed up and the car salesman was a no-show. Suspiciously, neither was the vehicle. We were led around the lot by another person and in the end, arranged to have a vehicle shipped in from a different location so we could test drive the one we would actually want. When I called the original guy on his standing us up and not having the vehicle he said had, his answer was that he knew one of his colleagues would be able to help us. Not very classy. Lucky for them, he still wanted the vehicle and felt the price was reasonable.

Met Chris by email as he is the Internet Sales Mgr. My experience in past purchases is...always deal with the Internet Sales Guys as you will typically get a better deal. Chris was likeable and professional, sending us info. by email and phone. We came up to Beaverton and Damerow Ford from Albany becuase prices and vehicle selection/Inventory was greater than any other Dealer I could find. After being patient with us on color choices, explaining options and test drives; we made a purchase with Chris and drove home in a NEW 2014 Ford Explorer, sunset orange color I might add ! After finishing all the paper work Chris showed us thru the vehicle and especially thru the new computer touch screen operating systems....wow ! these modern vehicles are something else ! So thanks Chris for the shopping experience. I would recommend that you contact Chris at Damerow in the Internet Dept. !!! Plus...you cant beat the quality of a great Ford product. Drove up, salesman came up, I stated that I saw some USED Mustangs online and would like to see them. He showed me the 2 they were offering. 1st was a Manual Transmission, didn't work for us. 2nd one was Automatic, we test drove it, LOVED it, wanted it. Set the process in motion. When doing the paperwork we agreed on an deal...their price($21,000+) - trade in($14,000) = $ we owed($7000+)! We didn't take possession of the car(we had a few "bugs" to work out on our end. Went home and the following day I was telling a friend about the Mustang we were going to buy. He asked if we had any pictures, I said no but could show him the ones that were posted online by the dealer. That's when I noticed that the online price was LOWER than what they sold the car to us for! We proceeded to go back in and talk to the Sales Manager to get the online price($17,000+) = $4000 cheaper!!!! Then they DROPPED our traded-in DOWN LOW! ($12,000), which then made our cost = $6000+!!!! They came down $4000, dropped our trade-in $2000 = $1000 savings for us?? Not fully happy, but deal is done! ALSO: When we test drove the Mustang, there was an owners Manual in the glove box & Floor Mats in the car. They said they would park it in the service bay area with a SOLD sign on it. We received a call from the salesman asking..."did we cancelled the deal because the car was back on the SALES lot?" I said "NO!" so he proceeded to put the car back off to the side by the service bay. When we went in to finalize the deal, sign ALL paperwork and pay what's left owed and take the car home, we noticed that the floor mats and owners manual were missing. We brought this to the attention of the Salesman and he looked around for the missing items....we were then told..."Used cars on the lots are free game to items in them...if another salesman needs something in the car they can take whatever they want!" he also told us..."I will try to find you some floor mats when another used car comes in and deliver them to you PERSONALLY!, as for the manual, you can "DOWNLOAD" it!" 1 section of the owners manual was 86pgs single sided! Just to learn how to use the SYNC technology of the car! I feel that Damerow should pay for Mats and Manual OR I can download the manual and charge them for paper, ink, my time, my "service fee" and electricity used...$300 NOT WORTH THE TROUBLE TO BUY FROM THEM EVER AGAIN!!!

We received internet quotes through USAA from three dealers. Damerow was prompt, courteous, and straight forward. Their pricing was extremely competitive. Negotiating with them was easy. No tricks. The car we wanted was in short supply so we made a verbal offer on a vehicle to be delivered in a few weeks. When the car arrived they received several higher offers on the car, but Damerow honored our verbal agreement and sold us the car for the agreed upon price. It was a very aggressive price, and I know they could have sold it for more. I've never seen that kind of honesty and commitment to customer service from a car dealer. The entire staff was very professional, friendly, and eager to please. I highly recommend you include Damerow next time you are in the market for a Ford. We live 200 miles from Portland and it was definitely worth the trip to buy from Damerow. We would do it again in a heartbeat. Can't say enough good things about Brian and the rest of the Damerow team. Give them a try. Find out what it's like to buy a car in a stress-free environment.
