Worth the Wait
by rugbyman1 on 05/07/2010My wife and I stopped into Taylor KIA with little optimism. Since our credit was hurt from our bankruptcy we didn't expect much. We needed a second car because my wife was starting work soon. We pulled up to Taylor KIA and there were five… salesman standing out front. My wife and I felt a little intimidated but then we saw one step forward with a big smile and a cardigan sweater. My wife laughed. Needless to say Patrick broke the ice with his sweater. I found out later Pat was the sales manager and he set me up with my salesman Doug Stork. Although I wanted to get my wife a brand new car, i was open to used too. I asked Doug about the 199 special i heard on the radio. He told me he would see what he could do and we should take a look at it. My wife loved the little rio. Even I could fit in it. ( 6ft 4") I have to admit it took a while to get all of my paper work but there were a lot of people in for the sale that day. I cannot knock Doug or Pat for that. To sum it up, my wife got a brand new kia rio, bright orange, and she loves it. Thank you, the Harrison's 5 stars A++Bad credit buyers beware
by frost813 on 10/30/2009I have bad credit and they just made it worse. Attempted to buy a new car first, then a used. My credit was hit 8 times to try to find me financing which lowers your score 1 to 4 points each time. I put down 3,800$ in a downpayment and… couldn't get a straight answer on how much the car cost. It was in the small print for 9600.00 when it was really worth 7500.00. It needed new tires, and shortly after I got it it started falling apart. I should have done my research and been more assertive, but they knew I was in dire need of a car. It got into an accident and I never got anything back even though I paid about 5500 for it in 6 months of ownership. Insurance paid 7500, I paid 289 a month for 6 months, and I never got any of the downpayment back 3800.00. Going to buy another car, and a real bank is telling me that my credit isn't that bad but the 7 inquires that where made look bad. The car loan isn't even showing up on my credit report so my high payments that where suppose to rebuild my credit aren't even there. Finding thats a common experience.Pretty good
by sopfer on 05/21/2012updated 06/06/2025I had been denied a car loan from my credit union because of my student loan debt and iffy credit, so I was worried about being approved. But Taylor Kia found a bank willing to work with me. The loan terms are not ideal, but the staff was… very helpful and explained everything. They even suggested I refinance after 6 months when my credit is better (which I plan on doing). They weren't completely upfront about the total price of the vehicle, but had I asked, I think they would have been. (I was a little distraught at having to trade in a car I loved (albeit necessary) so I didn't think to ask.) The whole process for buying a car is nerve-wracking to begin with, but with Taylor Kia, it was fairly painless. I now love my new Kia. ~ Stephanie OpferGreat Sales Experience

by john582 on 04/24/2012updated 06/06/2025We recently visited Taylor Kia in Toledo. We were specific about the colors we were looking for in a Kia Sorento. They found one in Kentucky, but told us it would cost $600 - $700 to get the car here. We then found a car through an… inventory search in Edmonds. That car was close by in Ann Arbor. The salesman told us that they didn't deal with Ann Arbor Kia. That made no sense at all. Then they told us they had a car exactly like the one we wanted on the truck coming to the dealership. They asked us to come down to the dealership. I confirmed on many occasions that the car that was coming was exactly the one we wanted and they assured me that it was. When we got to the dealership, they tried to sell us another car. When we pressed them about the car on the truck, they said it would not be there until mid July. This was mid April. We started to think that this car did not really exist so we said, we were in no hurry and we could wait till mid July. They then came back and said that this car had a tan interior despite the fact that I had confirmed on many occasions that the interior we wanted was black. By then, we were convinced that they had simply made this car up to get us back into the dealership. They lied to us on many occasions. The salesman insisted that they would not trade cars with Kia of Ann Arbor. They lied about a car coming to the dealership on a truck. This was the worst experience I have ever had as a potential customer. We went to another dealership and bought a GMC terrain. I will never darken Taylor Kia's door again or any of the other Taylor dealerships. If you value your time and your dignity, stay as far away from Taylor Kia as you possibly can.John, I would like to apologize for your negative experience with us. I assure you that our single most important goal is to provide our guests with the highest quality of customer service and I'm terribly sorry to see this goal was not met. I would be truly grateful for an opportunity to discuss your visit with us personally so that I may fully understand the details of the situation. Will say anything to get you into a car.
by manycarowner on 01/22/2014updated 06/06/2025Well i went to them when they had a deal for a brand new car for $11,000. I called and they said they had a few left, i got there an hour later(i live an hour away) and they said they were sold out and had been for the last 2 days. Well i… went to leave because that was the main reason for me going and the salesman said he would get me a great deal on a similar one that was a 2 years older. I was hesitant but said ok. After driving a few i found one that fit me well and ran well. After talking i saw the price was $1000 more than the brand new car i had originally gone to the dealer for. I told them i didnt want to buy it since the price was more than the brand new one of the same version. They said they would work a deal. This is where they got me. They asked what i wanted my payments to be, they put it on a piece of paper and had me initial next to it. In hind sight i realized how dumb that was of me. I didnt realize they would hold me to it, i just thought it was some sort of thing where they show their manager that i was willing to do that price, but i didnt think it was contractually binding. They ended up getting it to that payment amount but it had higher interest, longer term, and not until meeting with the finance guy did i realize the price was higher on the car then what they advertised it at, even though they said they would get me a better deal. I told them i wanted to back out and they essentially hustled me and showed me the piece of paper that said i was bound because i initialed by that monthly payment amount, which they were able to get me to. Well 1 year and 3 months later im stuck with a car that now has a huge amount of negative because of the loan they stuck me with along with the fact the car lost a ton of value. Let me add at this point that my credit score was 721 and i put a generous down payment down on the kia so its not like i had horrible credit and didnt put anything down. Never again will i buy from them. I came in with high hopes and was very open minded but they ended up taking a bunch of money from me and i ended up with a sub par vehicle. I wish i could go back. The car has been ok but with all of the negative i am so worried if something happens to the car i will be out of a lot of money and have no car. On top of that due to changes in life circumstances i need a different car and cant get out of this one no matter what i do. They say they work for the people but obviously they dont. After trying to talk to them and see if i could trade in of course they offered me next to nothing and wouldnt work with me at all. Also, so everyone knows, i have bought from many other local dealerships and they have never done this to me. It's just frustrating because i even recommended family and friends to them who needed nice cheap newer cars and not one of them enjoyed the car buying experience at this dealership. Most went to other dealerships near by and got better deals and were treated more like people and less like money bags.
