Mike Miller is a great salesman! After browsing online for a Camry, Mike called us first thing in the morning, we went down to the dealership, he meet us at the reception desk, allowed us to test drive, he was not pushy unlike some salesman and dealers we have had, after test driving one Camry, made our decision and we were new Toyota Camry Owners! We currently own a Toyota 4Runner, Tundra, and now a Camry! #ToyotaTough #ThankyouMikeMiller #ThankyouScottClarksToyota #HappyCustomers We will definitely make our next Toyota purchase here! Loving our new fully loaded Camry!

  • Bad choice of dealership

Drove 35 miles to look at a truck that was advertised. Called before I left and verified that the truck was still available. Received conformation by internet and phone that it was there. Truck was nowhere to be found when I arrived but was informed that they had others.

Mike Miller at Scott Clark Toyota was a pleasure. He's the only one in the area that gave me the price I wanted and the entire process was expedient, amiable and enjoyable. He made everything easy!

  • Great experience at Scott Clark Toyota

    5 out of 5 starsby Djb1313 on 01/02/2015

Found ourselves in a tight spot and in need of a new car just before Christmas. We did a little online research and knew we wanted a Toyota. When we arrived at Scott Clark we met our sales guy, Desmond Campbell. He was wonderful. Very knowledgable and not at all pushy. He directed us quickly and easily to the highlanders in our price range and made it easy for us purchase exactly what we were looking for at a price we felt good about. I would definitely reccommend Going to Scott Clark and asking for Desmond if you are in the market for a Toyota.

It was great working with Jose Hernandez to arrive at a deal that worked for everybody. Been a customer since 1991, they've always treated with great service and provided a great experience.
  • Great people

Had a great experience buying a car here. Mike M was my salesman. He was low-pressure and very personable. Kameron K closed on our financing, and he was fun and engaging. With both these guys, we felt like we were more than just a dollar sign or a sale, which is of the highest importance to us.

My salesman was Jacques D at Scott Clark Toyota in Stallings , NC. He was very professional, easy to talk to and very attentive to my likes and dislikes in the vehicle I wanted to purchase. He worked very hard to get the details I wanted and at the best price. I appreciate all of his hard work. I recommend this salesman and dealership for their customer service professionalism. Sincerely, Juanita M. A

I had a great car buying experience at Scott Clark's Toyota. The salesman Travis, manager Philip and finance manager Tony all were patient, knowledgable, professional and not pushy. They answered all of my questions, treated me very well, and followed up with me multiple times after the sale. They even offer free manicures. If you are looking for a car, definately stop by Scott Clark's Toyota and see the gentleman I mentioned above. They will make you feel welcomed and will take care of you! Also, I bought a pre-owned car and they GAVE me a lifetime warranty - you can't beat this deal!

I wanted to by a new car and that too a compact one. i was interested only on the new yaris. This dealer made this deal possible as per my specification. Also the trade-in value i got for my old car was excellent. I would definitely recommend this dealer. The dealership is very big and neat and the people are extremely good.

I went to the Dealership to test drive a 2010 RAV4. My salesman, Greg Zmirak, treated me with great respect, listened to what I wanted, and answered all of my questions. The test drive was extremely helpful in having me make up my mind and I purchased the car I test drove. Greg went out of his way so I could see all of the options available in their inventory, new and used. He continued to listen, did not push, and was both very patient and responsive as we went through the entire process. All of these attributes were very much appreciated by me. I have purchased all of our cars (over 40 years' worth) and Greg was the exact type of salesman I could have wanted. Scott Clark has serviced all of my Toyotas and I am very pleased with their service department as well. This was a great purchase. I love my car and will continue to do business with this dealership as the customer service I have experienced has been excellent and would strongly recommend it to anyone.
  • So Far, So Good

    5 out of 5 starsby sundance66 on 10/05/2009

I have not yet bought my first Toyota from Scott Clark, but having 5 previous ones , I know what I want. I also know a LOT about cars and the salesman and sales Manager seemed to appreciate that. I am looking for a "loaded" RAv4 limited with V56 and towing package, JBL sound, Leather, and all the other goodies that I haae on my Highlander. ( Moonroof, power adjustable seats, heated seats, roof rack and running boards, etc) My sales contact, Jim, who took over for Lionel, was friendly, courteous and knowledgable about the car I wanted, although they only one one in my color on the lo, just wrong color interior. ( I HATE GREY!) I know they have to pull from the same pool as all South East Toyota dealers but I got the feelings they had "pull". The sales Manager, Mike was the opposite of any SM I have seen and I brought down a few in my time. Friendly, low pressure, no "What can we do to get you into this car today" crap. I feel good about the dealership and their lifetime warranty. When I first went there. my scratched up Highlander was givren $1000 OVER the Blue book price as a trade in! I feel that the sale will go as smoothly, but like all dealers, I will bring a good book to read as they fiddle with paperwork. ( Car dealers are al the same ; part of the training, I think). I am even going to ask for thr college rebate as both my wife and myself has postgraduate degrees. thought they are 20 years old. I shall report back on the sales procedure.
  • You'll really like this story---BEWARE!!!!

My daughter had been looking for a 2009 Yaris. We went to a few dealerships and couldn't find any kind of a deal, only frustration. I suggested Scott Clark and off we went. Our salesman was Lionel, he was great. Not pushy, mild mannered and very helpful. They didn't have any 09 Yaris's but he showed us a Mazda that we test drove. It was a really nice car but not what my daughter wanted. They made us an offer and we went home to think about it.The next day, Lionel called to say he had a 09 Yaris and he thinks he can come close to what we were looking to pay. I did not go but my wife went the next day. It was a great looking car but a little high priced. They made an offer and she went home, not impressed. On the next day, my daughter wants to buy this car, being it was like the only one in the area due to Cash for Clunkers program. They go down there and we were looking for a little more off the price, being we were putting a good size down payment on the car. Plus my daughter recently graduated college so she was looking for one of the college rebates they were offering. And she was already approved for a loan since she has great credit. THEN THE FUN BEGINS.....................Along comes the big Sales manager, Marty Abernathy. He is what everyone fears at a car dealership. [violative content deleted] and he thinks he can close any deal just by his presence. Boy did he have it wrong.First, he doesn't budge on the price, which was 15,600, Then he says my daughter doesn't qualify for the college rebate because she does not work in the field that she went to school for. Then he says her credit isn't good because of a late payment for a doctors bill. Does this guy WANT to sell a car? Keep in mund this is a dealership that needs to sell 600 a month just to brake even! Obvious not, even though we had 3K in CASH, ready to buy! He had my wife frustrated and my daughter crying. Now my wife is a force to reckon with herself. She is not taking any crap from a car dealer. After 1.5 hrs, they walked out. But have to say, I really need to shake Marty's hand because if it wasn't for him, we wouldn't have gotten the best deal on a car ANYONE could ask for! After searching online, I found 1 [elsewhere]. Not only did they sell the car for 1K less than Scott Clark, they also said that she qualifies for a couple of rebates.
  • Worst experience in my years of buying cars

    1 out of 5 starsby mkmk2 on 06/10/2009

The sales staff lie, delete previous information from the computer, kept us there for hours on end, and think they are the only dealer in town. I believe when you are a customer you should be treated with respect, no matter what you are thinking about purchasing be it a car or candybar. The salesman not only lied but yelled at us. We never got to the bottomline in over 3 and half hours because of a lie. If you want an honest deal go elsewhere.
  • nothing changed same old tin salesmen attitude with cocky sales manager

2.3 out of 5 starsby joberman on 12/01/2008

went in to buy a car at there new building and was feeling good until i meet the sales manager. I have been buying cars for years and nothing has changed. it is still my car is worth nothing and they are looking to hose you on a new car. trade value was 3000.00 below the lowest book value for my car. they are still trying to make 5000.00 plus on there cars. nothing changed. typical car dealer after all these years. they resent you having any knowledge of pricing.
  • Worst car purchase experience of my life

1.3 out of 5 starsby pster on 04/01/2008

Salesman told me there was a price increase on my vehicle order and I had to pay another $200 to get the car, AFTER signing the contract. Since I had already sold my used car, I was stuck. He probably pocketed the money. Terrible, terrible dealer sales.
    • I used to sell cars and learned that you are not obligated to buy anything until you sign all the paper work AND drive the car off the lot! You should have refused the extra $200 and said you would take a cab home but you would be notifying the BBB and all local newspapers and television stations. I bet they would have waived the $200!

  • 2009 Camry Hybrid Purchase:

I went to many Toyota dealerships and called all Toyota’s in Charlotte. At Scott Clark’s Toyota on Independence Blvd I got the best deal, an outstanding knowledge of the product, and the most important item to Scott’s team was to provide a great Customer experience through the entire car buying process. I am like many who thought buying a car could be a nightmare of a process but working with David P, Dave W, Phillip S and Amber H from Scott’s dealership made it an exceptional experience. I will be highly recommending to my family and friends to buy from Scott Clark. I hope this will help save others the countless hours I spent researching of dealerships, if only I would have started out at Scott’s than I would have probably saved myself a weeks worth of work. Do you homework on your car and start at Scott’s and you may be thanking me for this post. I am extremely a detailed person and my request for many options to my new car was not a problem for Scott's team, unlike the rest of the dealerships who tried to make this very fuzzy in my purchase price and did not have a clue about option selections. Scott Clark you have the strongest team in town and don't forget the people who make your company successful, money is important but a lifetime customer and the referrals they provide is money you can bank on. Many companies have forgotten this simple rule and they are no longer competitive or in business.
  • Overall Positive

As with any car buying experience, there are certain hassels that come with the territory. At Scott Clark's Toyota City, most all of these were eliminated. I started the process online via the internet sales department which turned out to be the best move I could have made. All of my questions were answered immediately and by the time I drove onto the lot I was able to sidestep the hords of salesmen (eleven, to be exact) waiting beside the customer parking spot. My internet salesman came out, we took a test drive, and within 30 minutes we were in the chairs waiting for finance. One thing to make sure you state clearly when dealing with Scott Clark's is when negotiating the price of the car, don't fall for their "what payment is acceptable" tactics. They don't want to talk total car price, but rather negotiating monthly payments. They'll play the game of writing down a payment, asking if that's what you're hoping for, and going back and forth. You'll then initial beside a payment and they'll take it to another tier of sales for "approval" while you wait. The entire process for me was as fast as could be expected. Within 45 minutes of arriving I had completed the test drive, and was negotiating. The financing phase took another 45 minutes - including my wait time for an available person. Then, I had to wait for the car to be detailed, and a car specialist to go over all the vehicle's features. I was on and off the lot in about 2.5 hours -- not bad at all. The financing department phase was a breeze, but make sure you ask for the options they don't lay on the table. They'll only put the top tier options out on the printout (i.e.: 7/year warranty - will not mention the lesser options without asking), unless you ask for all available packages. I had complications with communication in this area because on the day I purchased the car they didn't ask for any documentation from me to support my proof of income. A couple of days later they called and said they needed it because I didn't have a large down payment and lenders were a bit leary that I could handle the payment. I then waited an additional 7 days to hear anything else -- and then only after I called to see if everything was finalized. I was not happy about this, they should have anticipated the scenario better since they do this every day as a high-volume dealer. I was very lucky and ended up with the best salesperson at the dealership - Dusty. If you're buying a Toyota, I would recommend this dealership and I would for sure ask specifically for Dusty. The lot is five times as large as it appears from the road, but the facility itself is in need of rennovation. They are busy and it's crowded and loud. It wasn't the most inviting area to purchase a car in. They are currently building a state-of-the-art dealership down the road, so all this will soon be moot. Everyone was friendly enough, but you can tell that the name of their game is sales. Read the fine print, do your research, and stick to your guns. I've been back to the service department once. The process was slow for me, but I had special circumstances. I felt like the volume of cars coming in was not supported by enough support staff. Again, I had to take the initiative to ask for updates instead of getting them while I waited in the less than desirable waiting area. The BEST part about buying from Scott Clark's Toyota City -- BY FAR -- is the fact that they are the only Toyota dealership in the region that offers a LIFETIME powertrain warranty on all new Toyotas they sell... for free.

My husband and I walked into Scott Clark Toyota just to look because my car had been total the week before. We were still waiting on my insurance money to be deposited so we were not really planning on buying anything that day. I had my heart set on a 2012 Mini Cooper Coupe. My husband kept insisting that I look at the 2013 Scion FR-S. When we walked in, we were greeted by Hank Flores. Hank was fairly new at Scott Clark but was very helpful. When my husband inquired about the FR-S, Hank told us that they didn't have any on the lot because they were being sold before they hit the lot. He went to find out when they would have more arriving and came back Ito tell us that it would be three weeks before they would get a black FR-S with a manual transmission in. I really needed a vehicle before that so I had decided that I would go on to the Mini dealership as planned. Hank went to get some answers to some other questions we had and came back with a great surprise. One of the sales persons, Rob Van Alstyne, had just purchased a FR-S about six weeks before and would be glad for us to take a look at his to ease our minds aabout possibly putting a deposit down on one. Rob brought his car around and I loved the style. It was absolutely gorgeous. He graciously offered to take me on a ride so that I could see how it handled and rode. Needless to say, I was sold by the time he was shifting to 3rd gear. No need to go to the Mini dealer now. We came back to the dealership where Rob and I worked out the deal on the FR-S. While this was going on, my husband and Hank were looking at 4Runners. By the time all was said and done, I now have a 2013 Scion FR-S Raven with a 6 speed manual transmission and my husband is the proud owner of a 2006 4Runner. We went in just to look and came out with two vehicles. Rob and Hank were absolutely wonderful to work with and I highly recommend them both. We will definitely recommend them in the future.
