Amazing Experience
by Janelle on 06/14/2023
We just purchased our 3rd vehicle from Chilson-Wilcox, and it is always a pleasure! Each time it’s been a simple, easy, and smooth transaction. Their entire staff is welcoming and friendly, they’ll listen to what you need, and do their best… to make it happen! Jim always goes above and beyond to make the process seamless and memorable, and explains everything in detail. Seth was a great Sales Consultant and took the time to go through my entire vehicle with me and show me features I didn’t even realize it had!
We travel 2 hours to do business here, and it’s worth every mile to have a hassle free, trustworthy, 5 star buying experience. Thank you all!

Phenomenal customer service
by Tanya on 08/18/2018I recently bought a vehicle here. After a few bad experiences at other dealerships we stopped here. We ended up having the best customer service. The salesman took time with us to talk and show us vehicles. I have never had such a… phenomenal experience at a car dealership as we had here. They went above and beyond to get me in the vehicle I loved and then spent lots of time showing me how everything worked in the vehicle. He made sure my seat, mirrors and all the settings in the vehicle were set how I wanted before letting me leave. I highly recommend this dealership to anyone looking for a new vehicle!!! We will be a returning customer!!Charlie Griswold
by Chelsi_ on 08/12/2018Charlie is a very professional salesman. Helped answer any questions I had in regards to the Jeep Compass that I took interest in. Was not a pusher with selling me the Jeep. Was patient and understood what I was looking for and went above… and beyond to fulfill my expectations. Promptly answered my emails and provided me proof of what is done before purchasing my Jeep. I recommend Charlie to anyone who is interested in a new vehicle.ultra competent
by yazdzik on 07/09/2018The most impressive things about Mr Charlie Griswold was that he listened first time, realised exactly what I needed, and his advice was spot on. He asked the right questions, understood the answers, and made the decision that was… right for me, based upon a clear a compassionate assessment of both our situations. He understood as well that the specific car was time sensitive, and within two hours they had financing arranged, on a saturday, for someone self employed, no less. I fetched the car, which he described as pristine, Monday morning at nine am. Pristine is a word one rarely uses, and, in this instance was an understatement. The car was everything described, but better, and was ready to go the moment I arrived, every paper was perfectly accurate, and my worst eccentricities were met with a smile. Charlie was even friendlier in person than on the phone, a gentleman in every way. When I asked the service manager what had been done to the car, he was one hundred percent honest. Thus, I can only recommend this dealership, and especially Charlie, unreservedly. Certainly when the dreaded NE winter arises, I shall return for a Jeep, and hope that anyone reading this will realise that any distance travelled is worth the time, as, although my good luck happened by chance, the reader should feel certain that this place is the best place to go for what they have, they will be honest and excellent. In today's world of impersonal, Charlie and his team are not so much salespeople as advisory team members worthy of trust. These values may be rare, but stil exist at Chilson Wilcox, for which I am personally grateful.Unethical and Fraudulent Business Practices
by Unhappyrich on 05/13/2014updated 06/02/2025When I purchased a new 2011 Dodge Journey from Chilson-Wilcox in Painted Post, NY the business manager talked me into buying a 60 month, 60,000 mile extended warranty. He told me this took effect after the Dodge Factory Warranty expired.… The factory warranty was good for the first 36 months or 36, 000 miles. The cost or this so-called extended warranty was $1126.00 paid to Chilson-Wilcox. What he didn't tell me was that this "extended warranty" started the day I took possession of this new vehicle. Why would an extended warranty start on day one when Dodge is covering the car for the first 3 years? I didn't know any of this until I traded this vehicle in at another dealer and was told by Chilson-Wilcox that my refund was $538.00 which is less that half what I paid. So do I get an extended warranty for 60months/60,000 miles? NO I got a 24 month/24,000 mile extended warranty because the first 36months/36,000 miles were already covered by Dodge. This is fraud and an ethical business practice. The business manager misrepresented this to me. He didn't even tell me about the $50.00 deductible on each repair. This money was paid to Chilson-Wilcox and the refund check came from them with Scott C's signature. I have purchased 2 new vehicles and one used one for my nephew at this dealer but I will never again deal with Chilson-Wilcox. They loss a customer over $588.00 of my money.Dishonest Dealer
by carguy149 on 09/15/2011updated 06/02/2025I have actually bought 2 cars from this dealer, from the same salesman. Both vehicles have been pretty good overall, but when I bought the second one I was looking for a car with as many safety features as possible as my son was going to be… driving it. I specifically asked about traction control and was assured that the car had the feature. I even asked why there was no "dummy light" for it as my wife's van did have an on/off switch and dummy light to tell you if you had the traction control turned off. The salesman told me that Dodge didn't put a switch in this model so there was no need for a light. A few months later when the snow came in I tried it out and found that I could spin the tires freely in the snow with no interaction with the traction control. I called the dealership to inquire about it and was told the car doesn't have that option. He denied ever discussing it and all but called me a liar. I find this worse than most offenses dealers get accused of, so I won't be going back there. They "pride" themselves on being a different kind of dealer that does things the right way...I disagree!
