  • The right truck but middle of the road experience

    I had overall good contact with the dealer and they were friendly and my trade was seamless once we agreed on price. Finance manager was great and definitely acted on my behalf to find the best rate. Dealership or reps I worked with seem to rely on text messaging for primary response. Generally ok but In my case, I was not able to respond with Texts and asked to be contacted by phone a few times. I tried to provide all information ahead to make my time at the dealership minimal as I was coming from out of state with a multiple hour drive both ways but a lot of the information was not passed along or passed along incorrectly requiring rework when I arrived. This made for a late return home. I understand new vehicle supply is low right now but from my cars.com searches this dealer is the only one I could see adding a price adder adjustment on top of MSRP to similar new car sales to take advantage of low supply when all are facing the same challenge. I would have passed normally but this was the best truck within my $ range. I also expected a more formal punch out list of all the details around my car features and warranty options. Some items were only learned as I asked last minute before driving away.

    Another serious need was discovered and it was repaired under warranty immediately. It is comforting to know that Basil is genuinely concerned for our safety. Service was thorough and on time.

    I took my wife’s RAV4 in for an oil change but it may not have needed it and the service manager said nothing about that. The RAV is supposed to have oil changes every 10,000 miles but after the service I realized it had only been 7,000 miles and the service manager said nothing about that, and they have all the service records for this car. Maybe they needed the business on a slow night? Also, when I asked a question about what oil they used I couldn’t hear what the service manager said thru his face mask and asked him to repeat it and another manager in the background rudely yelled out an answer, apparently upset that I had asked the question again. This was much worse than the typical service experience at Basil.

    Always enjoy my experience with Basil Toyota. Very easy to get my car in for work/schedule an appointment, and they always get the job done with little to no waiting. James at the service desk was very kind and informative during my visit today. Kept me informed of how soon the service would be done, and even helped explain the standard servicing schedule for my vehicle. I will definitely be coming back and recommending Basil Toyota to my friends and family.

    Stan assisted us with every request and question. He is patient, knowledgeable and kind. We felt that every employee was attentive and helpful. This dealership is by far the best one we’ve worked with. Brandon was exceptional also, as he answered all of our financial questions, and even added information about our vehicle and took his time with us. He was a wealth of knowledge. The presentation of the vehicle was great and we took as much time as we needed and never felt rushed. They all seem to understand the magnitude of the purchase and want everything to be just right for us.

    Took my Highlander for tires, oil change and state inspection. Service manager/advisor was great. Price matched the tires and gave me a loaner while the service was performed. Past service experience has been great as well. I recommend the Basil service department.

    I went in with my homework done. They had they model I wanted in stock and the process was quite easy using, online, email, phone , and finally in person test drive to obtain my new Toyota. Very pleased with the overall situation. Thanks so much. Only thing that kept from 5 stars was a bit of a wait to finish paperwork due to end of the month - aside from that quite happy.

    While the deal I got wasn’t bad the experience wasn’t great. We were left in the showroom for quite awhile even though we had an appointment. They stopped long enough to take my tittle of truck I was trading in otherwise I would have walked

    II had an appointment with a Sales Manager. I waited 30 minutes for him and he never presented himself. I will not recommend Basil to anyone.

    Had the pleasure of dealing with sales people Mark Stisser, Brooke(sorry I don't remember your last name), and F&I manager Mike Marini. All were very professional and courteous. This was my third vehicle purchase at Basil Toyota in Lockport and it was the smoothest transaction of them all and was more than happy with my trade in value.

    I was unsure of what type of vehicle I wanted to drive, Bill was very patient with me and showed several vehicles along with test driving them. When I finally settled with what i wanted and the color not being what i wanted, they found and brought in the color I preferred. After explaining the vehicle I drove off very happy. Also important to mention that the paper work/financing was a smooth non complicated process.

    Mike Gallivan did an excellent job selling me this Tacoma. He stayed until 10:00 pm to make sure I knew how to use the technology on this truck before I left even though the dealership closed at 9:00pm. Unfortunately the truck was not properly detailed as I requested. Stains on front seats were not cleaned and I don’t think the truck was waxed. Texted Mike when I got home and he immediately called me at about 10:30pm to assure me it would be taken care of. Mike went above and beyond the call of duty to insure I was satisfied. Lack of response from your General Manager and Sales Manager to emails they sent to me and I responded back to them surprised me considering the lengths Mike went to to get this deal done. Mike Metz in Finance was also very good

    Basil Toyota In South Lockport has great service, so even though it’s over a half an hour away for me, the service makes it worth the trip. Honest, reliable, very helpful and they will do everything to keep their customers happy.
