Teddy Volkswagen is the worst car dealership you can deal with.  I dealt with Frank Pina,  he flat out lied to my face. We negotiated the lease of a VW Passat, we agreed on a monthly payment of $219 a month (including all taxes and fees in the payment), he knew that I had another offer from Bayside VW dealership,  so he made sure I called and canceled that deal before he started preparing the paperwork,  and to my surprise, he added taxes and fees on top of the agreed payment amount,  so it's become $219 + $30 ($249), he said that I misunderstood him,  yeah right ! , he's [non-permissible content removed]. I just walked away without listening to him trying to renegotiate again.  I won't deal with a dishonest person.  Will never go back to Teddy VW, ever again. I went back to Bayside VW and got my car from them.

  • NIGHTMARE DEALERSIHIP!!!

PLEASE DONT GO - After looking at a car I was ready to purchase. Prior to going in I priced it out on the internet so we visited the dealer and we had set a goal. I received a phone call from Mr. Crocker to informed that they were able to match my request. I thought it was great, so I went back in the next morning and the nightmare just began. To make a long story short, the car had to be purchased with a warranty which it will increase the price of the car an extra $2,500.00, then Franklyn Crooker dissappeared, met with this most annoying person by the name of Lenny, without business cards to identifyed himself, he put such a pressure on me about having to buy this warranty, no even giving me a chance to discuss with my boyfriend. Anyway the price of the car it was $2,500.00 more for what it was listed and my offer it was accepted BUT just to get me there. I called this a SCAM. Needles to say that I walked out this dealership and I advise people PLEASE DON'T GO THERE!!! STAY AWAY FROM THIS TEAM OF [violative content deleted]!!!

  • They made my first purchase fun and easy!

When I walked into Big Apple VW I was nervous to say the least because I had never purchased a car before. It wasn't soon before long when I was approached by Julian, the owner, who then introduced me to Rabbe. Rabbe walked me through the process step by step, going over every detail with me to make my purchase even easier. The transaction went seamlessly to say the least and Rabbe even introduced me to the service team where I scheduled my first appointment before I even left the dealership. I couldn't have asked for a better experience.

  • If you are looking for a Volkswagen, go to Big Apple VW!

5 out of 5 starsby kingjules on 03/09/2010

I just purchased my second VW from Big Apple and once again it was another smooth transaction! Rabbe, one of their premier salemen, immediately knew my name and history from my first purchase. The staff is very friendly and professional, from the receptionist to the service dep't. I highly recommend going to Big Apple VW for your next purchase.

  • Do yourself a favor and DON'T GO THERE , plenty of other dealerships!

Very Unprofessional dealership. Was promised a specific car, drew up a bill, gave a deposit. guaranteed my car within 2 weeks. 3 weeks later no car, not returning my phone calls, when I finally did speak to my salesman Robbe, he said they could no longer get the car, but will look into it again. Still haven't got my deposit back, still waiting for a supervisor to call me. I read some negative reviews, but I thought I would still give them a chance, big mistake.
  • Purchase

After totaling my previous vehicle, I was in search of a new car. I've always wanted a Volkswagen Jetta so I said this would be a good opportunity to try and get one. My time was limited and so was my budget so I started calling around to different dealerships, reading reviews, searching Craigslist for a used one with low miles. I ran across one of their vehicle on Cars.com that seemed like good fit. I test drove it, got a fair price compared to market value and picked it up a few days later.
  • Terrible Experience at Big Apple VW

1.4 out of 5 starsby dshatzkes on 12/08/2009

Horrible experience during my purchase of a TDI sportswagon, from start to finish. Salesman (Robert) promised to look for a car for me and get back to me in 3-4 business days - never called. I had to keep calling, and when it became clear that he would/could not find a car, I did so myself. Had them bring the car from Koeppel to Big Apple because I thought, for some reason, that it would be better to buy from a local dealership. When they finally got it, 4 days after promised, they ordered the wrong ipod adapter, the one option I wanted that was missing on the car. I was not interested in taking delivery of the car, and then having to bring it back for installation (Koeppel says they will not install this, by the way - only from the factory), so I said I would rather wait until I got back from a week long business trip before picking up the car with the adaptor installed. They said they needed to make the sale before the end of the month, so I agreed to take delivery of the car right away if they threw in the adaptor for free. I had already picked up my bank check for the purchase, so they said they would cut me a check for $400 to cover the comped adaptor (which, by the way is a $199 option - they had charged me for installation when they promised they wouldn't). They cut me a check for $400 and gave me an IOU for the installation when I picked up the car, but then when I brought it in said they would only install it if I gave them the $400 back. They completely lied and would not honor their deal. I spoke to sales manager, service manager - no one would help. They are dishonest, practice bait-and-switch business, and will promise you anything to make a deal. I will not bring my car there for service, even though it is only 10 minutes from my house.
  • Great experience overall

Went in and looked at a new vehicle about two weeks ago with a salesman named Lester. He stayed in touch, but not that "calls every 15 minutes" kind of way that a lot of dealers do.. Came back in and drove it about a week later, but was still not ready to make a move until I did some shopping. Went to a few other places, did my homework, came back to them on the last day of the month and told them what I was willing to do and they said yes. Got a new car. Couldn't have been more pleased. Very easy to work with, but the showroom is kind of tiny, as someone else pointed out as well..
  • Smooth Transaction

4.6 out of 5 starsby edhcpa on 05/19/2009

The salesman, Robert, was pleasant rather than pushy, making it easy to deal with him. As a result, the transaction and process in buying a new car went smoothly. In fact, all of the showroom personnel were polite and professional making my overall experience a comfortable one.
  • Very positive experience puchasing at Big Apple VW

I traded in my A4 lease and ended up picking a Jetta S. Overall purchasing experience was hassle free. Negotiated everything on the phone and picked up the car 2 weeks later. Salesperson was extremely professional and the sales manager is very easy to deal with. I also turned in my Audi A4 there since they are all owned by Volkswagen.

This dealership was great. My sales person was Bryan C. and he was awesome. I called him with the options i wanted and the price and he made it happen. NO exceptions, no wheeling and dealing. I stated the terms and they found the way to make it work. My husband picked up the car and didn't check it over, once he got home i noticed a very small dent in the passenger door, i called them and brought it back and they fixed with no questions asked. Their service was awesome too. I think their a great dealership.

If I could give them zero stars I would. They lie, cheat and steal. They took over a lease for my mini cooper told me they were paying the balance off along with the disposition fee. Never paid the disposition fee and then told me they never said they would. Lied to my face and I got stuck with it. I was stupid to trust them and not get it in writing. When I called them back to work it out suddenly not to warm and fuzzy as they were when I was making the deal. I am so sick of [non-permissible content removed]
  • DO NOT USE TEDDY VOLKSWAGEN !

This car is my third new Volkswagen Jetta and because of the horrible customer service I experienced will be my LAST! My experience was unacceptable and I will not be using purchasing another Volkswagen. On 6-19-2012 I went to pick up my 2012 Jetta and provided a bank check for my down payment. On the 21nd of June I received a phone call from the Finance Manager who advised "you did not give me the down payment check" I reminded him I had done so and reminded the conversation we had about the fact the check was obtained by my husband and not in the last name. He said yes I remember "I told you cash is cash" But he also insisted that I didn’t not give him the check. I told him I would check with my husband and get back to him. Before the end of the day he called me back and said "Can you just give me a credit card" I said no and reviewed the fact that I would talk to my husband. My husband went back to the bank on June 25th and explained the issue to my bank, they advised a complex procedure to cancel the check and replace it one that would cost us more money. We called the dealership back to let them know of the cost to accommodate the mishap. I was told to do it they would cover the cost. Later in the same day (7 days after the purchase) we received a call from the General Manager who advised it was a clerical error and they found the check. By this time my husband had spent over 2 hrs. in the bank trying to resolve the issue, I had been basically told I was not telling the truth and did not provide the down payment check and told to place it on a credit card to resolve the dealership mishap and once found was told “it was a filing issue” I was unpleased with the service and process and asked Mr. Levy what he was going to do to make it right? He said what you want. I told him the least he could do was refund the 75.00 last minute charge that was not disclosed during the negotiation. He said “I will have to see if I can do that” he was curt and dismissive to the issues and inconvenience Teddy Volkswagen had caused and promised a callback. I waited one full week and called back on July 2nd Mr. Levy said due to staffing issues he was unable to resolve the problem and would call me back I again waited one week called back on July 9th I was placed on hold and Mr. Levy never picked up the phone nor was I placed in his voice mail. I did not get a chance to revisit this issue until today July 17th 2012 a full month after the purchase. I called Mr. Levy and spoke to him and he once again said I will check into this and call me back. I am done with this game I demand that I get a call from Volkswagen explaining what will be done to rectify this problem and compensate me for my countless hours tracking down a 75.00 check and hours spent trying to resolve the issue of the “Misplaced check” and the scratch that needs to be repaired. I will be sure to blog, and post my comments and experience on the internet to warn other people about my experience as well as never purchase a fourth car from Volkswagen again.
  • Big Apple VW SUCKS

Big mistake. They will suck every dime they can from you without mercy. You lease the vehicle from Volkswagen Credit Inc., but you still have to go thru these [violative content deleted]. Never had problems during leasing my other 5 previous cars from other dealers. Nothing is covered under the warranty, they tell you it's your fault, and they won't give you your keys, so you MUST pay whatever they decide. Even returning the car at the lease end is a nightmare. Aside from the lease payments, I spent a whopping $3,000 OUT-OF-POCKET on this 23,000 vehicle. If you want a VW use another dealership. Bad feeling, bad buisiness, you walk away feeling screwed-over.
  • Stay away from Teddy Volkswagen

I bought a CERTIFIED 2011 VW CC at a few month ago and the pre-sales service was actually all right. My Sales rep was Kenny and he was trying to satisfy me. Few problems though. 1. Kenny talks a lot but does actually very little. 2. He didn't properly mount the license plates onto my car so they fell off two days after I bought it. Then the very unpleasant journey of getting new license plates began. Teddy said they can't give me new ones and told me I had to go to the DMV myself. I asked them if I need to take the remaining licence plate to the DMV and Bryan said no (I thought, he's a car expert, he knows that kind of stuff). Of course that was wrong and I waited in line at the DMV for nothing. So I went back to Teddy because my car was in the shop to find & repair the cause for a water stain on the ceiling right after I bought it but they wouldn't give it to be because they can't have cars without a lic plate on their lot. So the only option was to drive the car illegally (since NYS requires two plates) to a private property, take of the remaining plate go to the DMV just so that they could tell me that Teddy didn't register the car to me yet. The DMV folks were actually very helpful and gave me some tips in how to deal with such dealers (they told me I have to get loud in front of other customers - which I tried to do but there never were many around when I was there). Back at Teddy they promised they'll take care of it and a few days later they actually had new plates for me. It was too good to be true, of course. Right after someone mounted the plates a very impolite lady came out to shout that they couldn't give me any new plates and they took them off again. But somehow they managed to register the car onto me so that I could go to the DMV for the 3rd time and finally get new plates. This is the 4th car that I bought in my life, 2 in Germany, 2 in the US and I never had such a bad experience. They lie to your face, make promises they never intend to keep, do nothing if you don't call them every single day. The car itself is fine, except for the water damage which they still didn't fix (but to be fair I didn't go there again - I'm so fed up, I still get angry just thinking about them - after 3 month). Never go there. Bryan, Tony, Kenny - they are all great until they got your money. Afterwards they don't give a damn about you anymore. One more thing. I retrospective I was kinda unhappy with Tony (the Finance manager). I was specifically asking for certain numbers (e.g. how much is the car insurance) but as it turned out later those were very wrong. He probably didn't lie, but sometimes not telling the whole truth isn't that much better. Anyway, STAY AWAY FROM TEDDY VOLKSWAGEN!

Stay away from this dealership!!!! You are better off buying your car from a used car salesman in any corner. I bought a CERTIFIED 2010 VW EOS a few months back, found myself with a flat tire on the side of Interstate 684 2 weeks ago, no big deal I thought, went to the trunk to get the tools to change the spare tire and to my surprise, NOTHING there to change the spare tire. When the emergency vehicle came to help, they couldn't, VW comes with a unique lock on the tires and the KEY to unlock was nowhere to be found, so I had to tow the car. I called the dealer to complain and ask for the tires lock key and the tools to change the spare tire that should come standard with every vehicle, they said, "Too bad, you bought this car a few months ago and we don't have to do anything about it". I was not asking for them to reimburse the $250.00 towing charge I had to pay, I was simply asking for the tools and lock key it should have been in the car. They wanted to charge me to remove the locks from the wheels and for the tools. I had to bring my car to another dealer to remove the locks and pay for it. Managers Anthony and Brian are the worse businessman I have ever seen, it would have cost them next to nothing to remove these locks and about $30.00 for the jack/tool. I have put several complaints with VW, when a dealer sells you a CERTIFIED vehicle, it is expected that standard tools like a jack and the lock key to remove the tires to be in the vehicle. STAY AWAY! ah, and I almost forgot, when I picked up the vehicle, I noticed there was no owner's manual, I told the salesman before I drove off the property and he said, we will send you one....I am still waiting.
