I keep coming back here because they have the best price and the… salespeople are great. Never pushy and they are upfront with everything. by jadev21 on 12/05/2015I just purchased a 2016 Sonata Sport from Star Hyundai. The salesmen and entire team are all extremely nice, interested in what the customer needs are, and will go out of their way to make the customer happy. They weren't pushy at all.… We took our time, worked out pricing and the salesman suggested I go home and sleep on it. He introduced me to his manager who thanked me and said when I came back they would try to do even better for me, which they did. I didn't didn't get a call the next day to ask if I made a decision. I finally called the salesman, Tom W. 4 days later and I didn't come in until a week and a half later. During that time I had Tom going crazy because I decided to change from the red car to a blue and on the day I went to finalize the deal, I changed my mind again and decided I wanted the nouveau blue. Tom never lost patience with me even though this meant more work for him. He always gave me his full attention and gave me a fantastic deal. I am extremely happy with my car, but more for the great experience I had buying this car. Tom is personable and does not schmooz to get a deal. I am not usually one to be sexist, but being a woman, I found with car buying experiences, they could be horrible as I recently experienced at another Hyundai dealership. I already told Tom when it is time for me to buy another car, I will be going to Star Hyundai and nowhere else.Thank you so much for the kind review. We are so glad you took your time to decide on the perfect model and color for you. Buying a car is a big investment and not something that should be rushed, and we're glad you decided on Thomas and Star Hyundai as your dealership. Very dishonest dealership
by michael930dt on 12/04/2015I received a great promotion in the mail to trade in my 2013 elantra Limited edition/navi with 18,000 miles on it for a new car. Promo said they would honor kelley blue book value of my car plus give me 20% above book value toward my new… car. The agent i dealt with claimed that he was able to get me a "great" deal for a 2016 Tuscon lease basic model but then presented me with a crazy price of $470/month. This is well over $150/month more then what i should be paying for this type of lease. (Lease was advertised as $249/month) I have a near perfect 804 credit score and i was a returning "valued" customer and this dealer attempted to pull this scam on me. Extremely dishonest. You came in with a mail offer from New Rochelle Hyundai with a "check attached for savings up to $2500" You explained how you didn't want to go back there because that's where you got the 2013 Elantra Limited you were driving and felt as though had ripped you off. You owed $3000 more than the value of your car and then you picked out a $28840 Tucson instead of the $23595 Hyundai has advertised for $239.Also you didn't want to put the $2999 down payment or pay taxes and fees as their advertisement is offered. If you are not putting the roughly $4000 down required to be at $239 and wanted to roll in the roughly $3000 needed to wash out your trade how did you expect to keep the $239 payment not to mention upgrade the Vehicle to a model that is over $5000 more. On top of this you were extremely condescending to the salesperson. Where we try to please 100% of the people, unfortunately there are people that feel like its ok to leave bad reviews because they are unable to get what they want.

Extremely informative and Helpful

Tom and his managers were very detailed when providing me information, in order to give me enough knowledge to make a… decision -- opposed to those dealerships that are vague, in an attempt to persuade you. worse car dealership ever run away
by jhoward8214 on 04/29/2015Brought a 2010 hyundai accent from there. Not even two months my brakes went. Ok they said i wore my brake pads out in two months. Ok i pay for that. Next week check engine light. Havent had the car two years yet but ive taken it to get… serviced over 6x. Problems with the engine and starter. I know they sold me a lemon and trust me they only care about the money . The sales men and managers dont work with you. They keep trying to push you off and pass you along. Save yourself the money, and headache and please dont buy a car from here.Hi Mr. Howard , I'm sorry you feel like you purchased a lemon from us and that "we only care about the money". I attempted to assist you in your dispute with South Shore Hyundai.Being that you purchased a certified pre-owned vehicle, Hyundai was willing to replace the engine for you under warranty at no charge to you, unfortunately you were not willing to show proof that you had done oil changes during the 2 years you've owned the car. I even offered to call the places where you did the oil changes to request the paperwork, but you declined. Hyundai declined the repair because the oil changes were not done and that the little oil left in the engine had turned to sludge. We hope that you change your mind and allow us to assist you with the repair.My offer to assist you stands and would love nothing more than to see you guys back on the road in your Accent.
Great buying experience

I went to Star and was greeted by Philip, who explained the different options available and in stock on the Tucson I was looking for. I explained my budget concerns, and… desired maximum payment. After a bit of negotiating, we settled on price option package length of finance and a token trade in for my old car. No pressure whatsoever, made this one of the better car buying experiences I have had over the past 40 years. The sales manager and staff were accommodating and finance manager made closing straight forward, without the usual crap pressure to buy extras.Dishonest

She called me everyday to make sure I was going to come in at the appointment time. When… I came to the dealership she basically act like our conversation never exist and through me to a dealer that knew nothing about my loan or Internet applications. Miracle Arlington is [non-permissible content removed] and dishonest.Great place to buy a car. No games No tricks.
by rg416 on 07/23/2009I read a review of the last person and I am not sure if he went to the same place I did. I visited Star Hyundai to buy a car for my daughter. This was the first car dealership I went to that actually treated me like a real person. As… soon as we walked in I was greeted by Gina with a warm smile. She introduced me to Phil who was so nice he showed me everything about the car. I had been to five other dealers before and walked out either totally mad or totally confused. I had a price from another dealer and I wanted to Phil to beat that price. The manager came to us and sat down and explained that the price I got from the other dealer was a number that they couldn't match and he told us to go back there to see if I could actually get that price. I did and sure enough they tried to add almost $1000 in "delivery fees" I immediately came back to Star Hyundai and got a great deal (a real deal) and I can honestly say for the first time in my life I enjoyed buying a car. Hats off to these guys and gals for actually doing business the right way without the tricks I had gotten at other dealerships. I would recommend this place to anyone looking to buy a Hyundai.Pretty funny reading that supposed "customer review"
I had a good laugh after reading this post! It would have been nice if the dealership at least made an attempt to cover up that they wrote this review! The title alone sounds like it's straight from the Daily News! I wish I could say I was surprised, but in the end this is JUST ANOTHER EXAMPLE OF THE DISHONESTY STAR HYUNDAI OF BAYSIDE DISPLAYS. I wrote the previous post in an attempt to prevent potential Hyundai buyers from being taken advantage of like I was. DON'T BE FOOLED BY THIS PATHETIC ATTEMPT TO COVER UP THE SHADY BUSINESS PRACTICES THIS DEALERSHIP USES! Good luck in your car search! There are plenty of honest dealerships out there!

by vm2234 on 07/21/2009Yesterday, I purchased a 2009 Hyundai Sonata LTD from Star Hyundai in Bayside, NY. I provided a $100 purchase deposit, and was provided a sales contract with the cars price. I arrived for a physical inspection for my current automobiles… trade in earlier today, and was told that they made an error and the car would now be over $2,000 more. Although I was told that the manager approved this contract the previous day, today I was told the approver was not actually a manager. On top of this error, my estimated trade in of $1500-2000 was then decreased to $1000 (the car is in near perfect condition). Basically, the price of the car increase by over $2000 from the contract price written up a day earlier. Finally, the dealerships manager did absolutely nothing to attempt to remedy the situation and was beyond verbally confrontational. After making such an error, I would at least expect the dealership to take some sort of responsibility, and be somewhat apologetic. Instead, I was talked down to and embarrassed. Stay away at all costs!!!!I heard what happened and it made me angry that they treat senior citizens this way, this is not professional at all. They should be reported to senior Citizen advocate.

by cookie57 on 02/28/2014updated 06/04/2025With a great sales manager like Zach leading the way,this dealership is the best place to buy your new Hyundai vehicle.I have been myself a retail furniture manager for 23 years,and I can as honestly this has been one of the best customer… service experiences ever .Great prices,knowledgable sales people,comfortable and personable atmosphere.This dealership goes the extra mile to please it 's customers in every way.Both my girlfriend and myself bought both an Elantra Limited and a Santa Fe and are extremely happy with both the vehicles and our overall experience.We would indoubtably recommend Zach and his sales staff to everyone that wanted to seriously make a new car purchase.Sure,they would like to make a sale like any other retail establishment ,but more importantly they want to make a customer for now and in the future,being smart to satisfy whatever they possibly can and a customer leaves with a great car and they are happy.A customer could not ask for me.I am a very fussy consumer when it comes down to where I will make a major purchase,and don't like to waste a salesman's time as I am a serious buyer,not just a shopper.Star Hyundai,notably Zach and his staff satisfied all my needs in all the important ways.When I took my car home,Tommy a fabulous salesman explained all I need to know operationally about my vehicle with great knowledge .He was as friendly and personable as he was sharp and smart.In summary,a five star experience.Purchased Used Santa Fe

If you do your homework and know what you want, I imagine you can call this dealership an acceptable experience. Sales guy Tommy T., does the best he can while working with… back office managers who are the [non-permissible content removed]. There advertised prices are competitive, but they make their money on the backend. Went to two other dealerships and experienced similar tactics, just decided to do the best I could here, considering it was the most car for the money offered at the time. Although vehicle was Certified Pre-owned, I felt I was more knowledgeable about the benefits of purchasing a certified vehicle than the dealership was i.e., lifetime road assistance, free satellite radio period, drivetrain warranty, all never mentioned. Bottom line, if know what you want, and have access to your own funding, you can get a deal.Very Dishonest and Weaked Dealers

We spoke on the phone, and he stated a reasonable asking price. The quote was honored when we… met, and I left a deposit for a car. After a few weeks, the car was delivered to the dealer. When I picked it up, the transaction was smooth and included no unexpected fees. Efficient!
