  • Bad Service

    1 out of 5 starsby bobu999 on 05/15/2017

We felt like we were crap and not worth the effort. The salesman left us to "check our account" and NEVER came back ! No clue what this was about since we had no account. We waited for about a half hour and not one single person approached us. The car jockey was embarrassed and tried to talk to us. We said forget it and left.

  • Watch out !!!

1 out of 5 starsby Careful on 04/19/2017

I had leased a Honda and when the time came for the lease to end I had a pay off price which didn't included taxes and FEES. I thought the fees were only motor vehicle fees but no, I was wrong. I wanted to look at Subarus instead and then later got a call from Phil a salesman there who told me to come in again and he would take care of the fees. After deciding to go back and buy the Honda he Phil said there was nothing he could do about the fees and if I didn't like it to go somewhere else. The car was sold to me "as is" but I had to pay $615.00 to have it inspected although I leased it for three years and it was at Honda all the time being inspected. They didn't tell me about the $399.00 document fee. When I noticed it and complained to Justin in finance he gave me another contract and said he would split the differance with me. He gave me back the same exact contract back with nothing taken off. You can't trust them. Make sure you check everything. There are still other issues I'm trying to check out yet with the financing where I believe I was also lied to about. Record your conversations !!!!

  • Great Experience

Everyone was great. Always asking if I needed help. Rob Nylund was fantastic. Very clean building. One improvement would be choices of refreshments. If I wanted to just pick out something that wasn't great. Keep it up.

I am not in a very good financial position at this time in my life. Due to medical bills, credit card charges, personal loans for vehicle repairs, my wife and myself credit scores have dropped substantially over the past couple months, before that we did not have any overdue payments. The other night my wife totaled our vehicle and due to the title being held for collateral we do not have any down payment or lower down payment. I contacted your dealership and spoke with Laura and she stated "I was approved" but did not specify and said I had to come to your dealership regarding this issue. I kept asking her about the approval and what I could get and she stated "you have to come in to the dealership". She was going to meet with me on 1/31/2017 @ noon, I later found out she was off this day. Basically I traveled an hour and 15 minutes just to get rejected, I aim disabled and the drive really made my pain excessive. I can not believe I was treated this way, I am a veteran of the Vietnam War and have served US Civil Service for almost thirty years before I became disabled.

Hackettstown Honda has been a pleasure to deal with...Once Again. This is our second purchase with the help of Thom Graham and staff! The buying experience was relatively fast and even may I say fun. We all had some laughs!!! And from previous experience, the service department is really top notch and professional.

The good: · Hackettstown Honda had a great selection of vehicles available to choose from and test drive. · The vehicle I was interested in 2011 Kia Sorrento advertised on their website was available and as described · All the staff were friendly and helpful · Terri. C – Sales person, was excellent direct with no pressure sales and great follow up · The team worked to get financing for the vehicle under less than ideal circumstances · I left with a Kia Sorrento 2011 (not the one I originally picked) The bad: · I went to the dealership twice, the first time I was there for 4 hours, and that’s test driving 1 vehicle (20min), which I knew I wanted from research online common at most dealerships. · I had a vehicle trade which they offered the minimum for, did not attempt to negotiate that at all. I would be fine with that if they saw the vehicle first (that’s a clue that you are being low balled) not that I expected a lot for my 14 year old BMW · I was told at the table while drafting the paperwork that the best price was $13000, that was after dropping from $13500. That number was almost $1000 higher than what was advertised on the website. (The manager promptly fixed that when I called him later that day and honored the internet price) · Due to financial issues and financing approvals it took nearly 1 month to get clearance for financing(on my part), when I returned to pick-up the vehicle which I placed 1 $1000 deposit on, I found that it was gone! The manager offered me a similar one instead, not the color I wanted, not the same condition, higher miles. They kept me at the dealership another 3 hours to get the paperwork ready for signature. · The vehicle was not detailed, but after being there twice, already for 2.5 hours I had no desire to stay. (The manager gave me a rain check on the detailing) After all of that I was not compensated at all for my trouble, instead when I was offered the second vehicle the manager quoted a higher price Literally the same car, model, year, features but higher mileage! After refusing to take it for a higher price he gave me the same which I had previously, but then rolled in some GAP insurance into the car price. I saw the GAP at signing, which the finance guy claimed didn’t why it was there but he could remove it, but that meant spending another 1+ hour to draft up the adjusted paperwork. I accepted it but later had it changed dropping the price by another $850.00. Overall, a frustrating experience made bearable only by the kindness and professionalism of the sales woman Terri. Everyone else I met with felt like a car salesman (not necessarily a bad thing, just what I hate the most about buying cars). The techniques used at this dealership is straight out the handbook, from keeping you waiting so that you will sign anything to get it over, blind offers on trades, “stating this is the BEST price”, but a new one is the selling of a car I put a down payment on. At any point I could have walked away, but like many places I think they took advantage of a crappy financial situation that I had, maybe even equating poor finances to ignorance. I decided to move ahead since honestly I don’t have the patience for car buying, also I didn’t expect much better regardless of where I went.

  • this place is awesome!

I am very happy that Honda of Hackettstown got me approved for the car I wanted at the price that was great. I am now the proud owner of my very own truck, financed all by myself. the process was very simple, quick and I believe they had my needs all satisfied without any gimmicks or games. The dealership was busy when I went there, lots of people buying cars, lots of happy people from what I could tell. Add me to the list of their many happy customers!
  • deception

told I was approved received call loan fell thru new lender at 15.99% I rejected it new car offered a minivan with 23.99% annual rate. This dealership is deceptive and a scam. Don't use this dealership
  • Lack of professionalism

    1 out of 5 starsby Eflores1987 on 07/02/2016

I would like to start by saying I am completely appalled and disturbed by the lack of professionalism and consideration this dealership has for their clients. My mother, aunt, and I drove nearly 2 hours to see a car I was interested in. Not only was the used car sales manager disrespectful to my mother, but he also dismissed us over $300 that I asked to be lowered from the sales price. I am not sure if it was because we are women or because we are Hispanic, but I don't think we deserved the awful treatment over $300. I will never recommend anybody make a distant drive to this place.
  • Couldn't Believe What Was Happening

1 out of 5 starsby wranglerhappy on 02/22/2016

I live two and a half hours from this dealership but found a vehicle there that I really liked. The price looked great, carfax was clean, didn't see any issues. I contacted them online initially and spoke to Laura many times. It was stressed to me that this dealership will not loose a deal over price which was very reassuring. I had a written offer from a dealership nearby that I shared with Laura and she assured me that Honda of Hackettstown would do at least as good if not better. I sent pictures of my trade, gave her my VIN number, and sent her an actual copy of the other dealerships offer. After three weeks of confirming details and gaining confidence in my decision, I put a deposit on the vehicle and made plans to head to the dealership that weekend. The day before I was to travel, the sales manager Ronnie, called me to again reassure me that I would be taken care of and would be happy with my potential deal and new car. I arrived at the dealership Saturday morning, met Laura and was passed off to my sales rep, Alex. Alex showed my wife and I the vehicle that I had put a deposit on. The car looked perfect until we opened the doors. The inside was filthy and covered with dog hair and dirt, I was told that the vehicles get a quick once over when they arrive and are not detailed until they are sold. Sounded backwards to me but OK. You would have thought that a vehicle that someone puts a deposit on should look good, but maybe they do things differently here. We went on our test drive and then proceeded inside to see the deal. I explained and showed Alex all of my paperwork regarding matching or beating the other offer I had and exactly what I was expecting. He went off to his sales manager and came back with an offer that was nearly $10,000 off from what I was promised would be matched or beat. I explained again exactly what I was told, including emails from Laura, about the deal I would get. We were left to sit at our table for 15 minutes when the sales manager Ronnie came to talk to us. He came to us with an offer that was about $4,000 closer. He offered a lot of apologies, excuses, and blatant lies regarding not having information ahead of time, as to why he was not going to honor what was promised to me so many times over the phone and via email. Classic bait and switch and completely disgusting. It didn't matter that I had all the emails and voice mails, some from him directly, I was two and a half hours from home and completely hung out to dry. Angry, disappointed, and in disbelief I drove home and promised myself that I would make sure as many people as possible knew what kind of dealership this was. I will say that my sales rep, Alex, was very helpful. I could tell he was embarrassed about the situation and he did everything he could to help us, it was just out of his control.

I recently bought a Certified Pre-Owned Honda CRV at Honda of Hackettstown and I could not be happier with this dealership! Our salesman Roy was friendly, knowledgeable and very easy to talk to. I knew exactly which car I was looking for and Roy and all the sales staff were very committed to sending me home happy in the car of my dreams! After I purchased my beautiful 2012 CRV an unforeseen problem arose with the the rear brakes and it was taken care of promptly and courteously in the dealership's beautiful, state of the art service center! I would like to give a shout out to Brian and all the service staff who strove to make my service experience professional and worry free! I would recommend Honda of Hackettstown to anyone looking for an awesome Honda purchase or service experience! Stop in and experience this state-of-the-art dealership, you will be glad you did!!
  • Theft Protection Option not needed

    4 out of 5 starsby just_a_guy1 on 07/18/2015

Tried to sell the TPP by saying the glass had VIN numbers had already been etched on the windows. Then it turned out to be just an insurance policy when it came time to sign the paper work. Again they said that I could not decline that it was already done. Which was not true after pushing back they finally took off the $320 fee. Seem to be a cheap trick.
  • Straightforward and Painless Experience

    5 out of 5 starsby firstcarbuyer1 on 05/28/2015

Internet price on a used car was the best value in the area when it came to mileage and year of the car, plus it was CPO. We were given the exact internet price (plus reasonable doc fees and taxes only) with no tricks or extra charges at any point of the negotiation. Phil was friendly and straight forward and it was more of the same when it came to dealing with the finance. This dealer is not trying to pull anything over on you from my experience and there was no hassle and we didn't feel pressured. It ended up being the complete opposite of what you expect from car dealers. Very happy with the whole process.
  • New CR-V purchase

I was very please with the purchase of my new CR-V. Roy B. was very helpful and made sure that my wife and I were very happy with the car. Several of the sales staff asked if there was anything they could do for us while purchasing and picking up our new car. It is clear that they are committed to high customer satisfaction.

  • BEST EXPERIENCE EVER ASIDE FROM SEEING MY CHILD BE BORN!

    5 out of 5 starsby peterv3 on 05/06/2015

I must say, most folks these days are intimidated with the entire car buying experience. I was one of them PRIOR to meeting with Arthur and the rest of the staff at Honda of Hackettstown. Arthur made my experience in buying my Honda Accord easy and enjoyable with no pressure, no sales pitch and no confusing jargon. Arthur found a car to fit my budget and even took my current headache of my old vehicle off my hands. I felt welcomed and at ease with the entire process and although its been less than a week, I am already seeing the benefits from this decision especially at the pump! I HIGHLY recommend Honda of Hackettstown to anyone who is thinking of getting a new or used vehicle, they will treat you right and that can never be wrong in my book!
  • Honda of Hackettstown - a great place to do business

Went to turn in two leased cars and left with three. Tom and Raul were personable and made the time spent well worth it. If you are looking for a dealership that will work with you, look no further.

We recently purchased a Honda CRV Ex. Our sales experience was excellent, we walked in the dealer at 630 pm and 3 1/2 hrs later walked out with a new car. Everyone was very knowledgeable and I would recommend them to anyone looking for a new Honda.
