  • Misleading Dealer Add-ons

    I spoke with another dealership who would have offered me between $1000 and $2000 more for my exact trade-in to Subaru of Keene. This was when I was canceling a bumper to bumper contract with them on my previous vehicle: I had driven it for… about 3000 miles, and received ~$1700 back from the original $1900 purchase price. I was mislead to believe that I would have the same contract on the vehicle I was purchasing from Keene. Before I received this vehicle, I asked to opt out of the $1900 add-on from my purchase order and take the car as is. I was told that if I cancel the add on I would reduce the price by $260.00. I felt very deceived throughout the whole process. I would not recommend this dealership and would advise seeking an alternate Subaru dealer.
    • We wanted to reach out to you in reference to your negative review. We are sorry that you made a choice to purchase our used car and quickly had buyer's remorse. As discussed, the trade-in was a vehicle your parents purchased for you and you had not discussed trading the vehicle with them until after doing so. It is unfortunate that only day's later you regretted this decision and wanted to 'unwind' the deal. We did not solicit you to sell you a car but merely worked out a deal that was at the time, to your satisfaction. As for the warranty cancellation, the refunded amount was based on a formula that calculates the time you owned the car in conjunction with the miles driven and the other originating dealer refunded you a pro-rated unused portion. The other dealer may have suggested they could have offered you more for your trade but that is easily stated when you had already traded it and were in the process of buying it back. As for the pricing agreed upon for you to purchase back your vehicle with the warranty included was all based on your desire to have the vehicle back and with the comparable warranty. We appreciate your business and are truly sorry that you made a purchase you regretted. Our only goal was to help you 1) get into the car you wanted and then 2) help you acquire your original vehicle back with as little out of pocket expense as possible. Ultimately we did do what we said we would do, we sold you a reliable vehicle and then assisted you to purchase back your original vehicle with the added warranty you stated you wanted at as little out of pocket expense to you as possible. We value all our customersÂ’ experiences and opinions. We apologize that we were not able to make this a more enjoyable experience and would be happy to discuss this in more detail if you would like.
