  • Failure to honor agreed upon deal

    I gave a price I was willing to pay for a vehicle and it was accepted. I drove 2 hours to get to the dealership and took the car for a test drive. I sat down with the salesman to make the deal and he went in to ok the deal with his GSM. The GSM who ok'd the deal sent the salesman out to tell me he wasn't honoring the deal. At this point I handed the salesman my phone with the accepted offer being ok'd by the same GSM. The GSM still said no. Poor practice by an established dealership. Wasted my time and gas.

    I'm giving this review because I feel that this dealership did not honor an offer made. I made a deal on a vehicle offered online. The salesman I dealt with told me that his GSM had accepted my negotiated offer. I told the salesman that I would travel the 2 hour trip to see and drive the vehicle to which the salesman said good. Upon arriving I test drove the car and decided I liked it and sat down with the salesman to seal the agreed upon deal. The salesman went in to see his GSM and returned to my wife and I and told us that the same GSM that had accepted my deal was not willing to honor it. At this point I allowed the salesman to take my phone to show the GSM the conversation during which he had accepted my offer. The salesman came back and said he was sorry but my offer was not being honored. At that point my wife got up and left the dealership. Sorry to carry on but I have bought many cars in my 68 years and have never been treated in such an uthonorable manner. I hope that management takes time to look at this review and sees to it that other ci customers aren't treated in this manner. Just for anyone reading this, it was a matter of $300.

    We have been going to Fairfield's for over 20 years and have found their staff to be very knowledgeable, professional and trustworthy. We appreciate their no pressure attitudes and each experience has always been nothing short of excellent. Not only is their Sales Department outstanding they also offer a very courteous and accommodating Service Department. The entire facility is always clean and very well organized. Sure, their deals have always been the best but what I also love and appreciate is the fact that Fairfield's has taken the time to maintain a relationship with us throughout the years. Never have we felt like we were just a number. Everyone is very friendly and we always feel welcome. Another important and admirable quality about Fairfield's is their commitment to local community groups and organizations. For these reasons and many more, we will continue to support Fairfield's. Thank you once again for exceeding all of our expectations.

    I came into Fairfield's to test drive 4WD vehicles because my driveway is so bad in the winter months. I tried out a Canyon, which was nice but a little too small. So Mike brought out this huge Yukon! OMG! What an awesome vehicle! It didn't drive like a huge vehicle! It seemed to fit me like a glove, (I'm only 5'2") better than my SRX and the ride was so much smoother than the Cadillac I owned! Needless to say, this Yukon came home with me! My sales person, Mike Shaw knows what I like! Sometimes I think he may be too good! Life is good with Fairfields by your side!

  • Great Experience with our Lease/Purchase of a New Car

    Dan Rehmer is a top notch, low-key sales rep. with whom we thoroughly enjoyed working. We first made contact with Dan to research several cars that we might consider purchasing. Then we went online to TrueCar to research the best prices for the Yukon SLT model we chose. We went to see Dan with that research in hand and when we asked for the best out-the-door price he could give us, he actually beat the other two dealerships, whose prices we received online. From that point forward, we had many questions and Dan and Lou found the answers to all of them...to our great satisfaction. We said that we would check with one other larger dealership to see how they compared with the final package, but Dan, Lou and Fairfield's came out the winner---by $3600 for the same lease package. Needless to say, we were thrilled with the savings. Also, our purchase price fell into the GREAT PRICE range on TrueCar. Dan took lots of time to go through all the bells and whistles on the car, many of which we had never even heard of. So, all-in-all, we had a terrific experience in the lease purchase of our new Yukon SLT. We will definitely go back to Fairfield's and will recommend it to others. We will hope that Dan is still there to help us again in 3 years. Thanks Dan, Lou and Fairfield's...... A Happy Customer

    Ken Clay was very helpful from the moment I stepped into the dealership. He answered my questions without a sales pitch and told me he'd notify me when the car I was interested in was in stock. I got an email notification the day it arrived and I went and test drove the vehicle a few days later. I was given a walk-though of the vehicles new features and talked about warranties and service. It was a great experience and by far the easiest I've every had.

    Matt in Internet Sales was terrific to work with--he answered my questions quickly and in a friendly manner. They seemed genuinely focused on helping us find the right truck for our farm. We're down in Connecticut, but I would recommend this dealership to anyone in New England or beyond!

    I found a car I was interested in if they would take my price, and explained that I'll save myself the time and gas money as that's the highest I'm willing to go. Now sure, my offer was fairly aggressive, but it was very reasonable as I have found the same car with more options and fewer miles lists at the same price that I offered. And they agreed. The car itself was clean, except TMPS warning was going off for one tire not having some air in it. Considering that they knew well in advance I was coming to look at this specific vehicle, one would have thought this would have been taken care of. I can let that slide. However, when it came down to talk price, they would not honor the agreed upon price over the phone, and they gave me a trade estimate that is about two-thirds of what other dealers have got me, and all they're going to do if I accepted was clean the car, and put it on the lot for double of the trade value. Perhaps if they did not lie to me about the price, I could have accepted their joke of a trade offer. Or if they were willing to match 80% of what other dealers have already offered me. Other dealers I have dealt with have always honored their agreed upon price. But these guys said that wouldn't be a problem just to get me in there and hope I was uneducated and impulsive enough to do something I'd regret. Finally, they gave me a monthly payment estimate over 72 months which was more than I pay for my current vehicle over 60 with an outrageous 8.1% interest rate for the same amount financed. I figure that must be around a 15% interest rate which I am going to assume is some in house scam. My credit score is well over 800 and I qualify for 2.99% from my local bank so I would have got my own financing, but clearly they were trying to take advantage of me in case I wasn't smart enough to know what a payment should look like. So at the end of the day, they just wasted my time and gas money. Not lying to me in the first place would have saved myself the time, and saved them from a one star review.

    Carla and Matt were very patient with my wife and I and bent over backwards to help us get a great vehicle......the Sorento. I would highly recommend this very friendly and customer focused dealership.

    Finally...a car dealer that isn't pushy and is focused on excellent customer service and problem solving. Everyone from Rob, Wade, Finance, GM...all worked hard on helping get into a 2012 GMC AWD Terrain. I felt like I had an entire team working with me. I highly recommend this dealership. I felt like they dealt with me with a great deal of integrity.

    Laura B. was my initial contact while searching for info on new 2014 Cadillac Escalade. She was very helpful & with both Wayne & Shane, all 3 made sure I got my 1st exterior color choice. They also went beyond just selling me a top vehicle. They also cared & asked 1st about our puppy Jemma who recently underwent a very difficult surgery. It shows they "care & really listen" about the customer as a client & not just as a potential $ sale. Thank you for treating our family right! And, I let friends know, out of dealing with several Cadillac dealerships, Fairfield's was the only one genuinely concerned how Jemma was recovering. That was the first question asked. No other dealership did this. That's in part why I bought my Cadillac at Fairfield's. Plus, they went to great lengths to get the one I wanted seeing how there were only 2 other vehicles in the USA with the same color choice as mine. When I arrived for my scheduled test drive, there it was! Two weeks later (after environguard was done inside & out -- worth every dollar) she came home. So far, excellent ride home through winding mountains. Handles very well on winding hilly roads & open highways. Thank you Fairfield's!

    The best experience I've ever had purchasing a vehicle. Fast, friendly service with absolutely no hassles. Lou and Chuck were fantastic to deal with. I can't wait to purchase another vehicle from them.
