Hoping for a better experience
by jdumont on 05/05/2017I just celebrated my 1 year anniversary of the purchase of a 2016 Honda Pilot from Dover Honda. I am completing the service survey experience I had on April 14th 2016. I wanted to wait some time before responding. I received a spring travel… special from Dover Honda that included an oil change and tire rotation, brake inspection, vacuum and tire pressure check for 49.99 The coupon was good until April 15th. I was very happy to take advantage of the opportunity and have my Pilot inspected at the same time. Here is what resulted. I was greeted by the service manager and I drove my Pilot into the service bay. I left my car and went to the waiting area. After about 30 minutes the service manager came out to the waiting area to informed me that the environmental air filter needed replacement. So I asked to see the filter that needed replacement. It looked like a filter that one would expect after 14,000 miles of use and with a tap of the filter some of the collected particulates fell out. The recommended change on such a filter by Honda is 30,000 miles. I asked to speak to the dealership manager at the time. I inquired about replacing the filter and he suggested that we go back and look at the filter which I appreciated. As we walked towards the service bay the dealership manager informed me that the suggested environmental filter replacement was based on California standards. I am not sure what that means? Upon examining the filter the manager encouraged the replacement. When I had originally examined the filter it looked in the condition one would expect after 14,000 miles of ware and tear. The filter was replaced. The cost of the replacement was over 53 dollars. After about an hour and 15 minutes I spoke to the service manger as he was presenting the bill to the cashier. So I ended up paying over 140 dollars for the routine maintenance, washing and cleaning, air filter replacement and inspection. I am not questioning the cost of service provided but not sure the filter really needed to be replaced but decided rely on experts at Dover Honda. However, when I left Dover Honda and drove home to find out that the tire pressure in the two front tires was 35 PSI and two rear tires at 30 PSI. The car had been washed but the interior of the car had been quickly wiped down not cleaned and the middle and back seats had never seen a vacuum. This was not the same cleaning I had experienced with my second oil change. I enjoy my Pilot only wished that my most recent service experience with Dover Honda had been better. I authorized replacement at $54 each. I found the cost to be expensive. Great service and accessibility
by Happyowner32 on 03/24/2017Employees were able to schedule an appointment right away, customer service was excellent, and prices are reasonable. The facility did not have Febreeze, Lysol sprays, or other heavy fragrance or phthalate based air "fresheners" used in the… restroom, and did not appear to have fragrance in the ventilation systems like some places do, so no worries about whether the building is accessible and whether it will be safe to drive home after or not, no problems from a surprise hit with an unprofessional product like you get in some places where they can't be bothered to clean the restrooms. The employees didn't leave the car stinking of fragranced products or other cover ups, either, but actually practice good hygiene where laundry and personal/home/car care are concerned, in addition to perfect performance in other areas. These folks are professional in every way, and they clearly only hire the best. They are what every business should be; top of the line, quality wise. Would recommend them to anyone like cancer patients, asthmatics, those who get neurological issues from fragrances and have to worry about driving ability going home, parents who care about their child's welfare and need to bring the kids with them during the repair (they even have a play area), and others who have had a hard time finding accessible, professional repair shops that they can trust to do a good job every step of the way.Dear Happyowner32, Thank you for sharing your recent experience with us. Our sales consultant was Chris he was very down to earth not your typical pushy sales person listened to what we wanted and where we needed to be with our payments… gave us our options got us into vehicle to try out right away, and to top it off he saw me look at my watch, bcz we had an engagement to get to you and couldnt be late, he got us right in the car for the test drive explained alot during the test drive and answered all of our questions once we got back to the dealership he ran numbers right away and explained the different options and we were out the door and on the road back to laconia and made it back in time for our engagement my husband and i discussed the numbers and we were so impressed on how they put us first and took our engagement very much into consideration,and did not chat wth us anymore then they needed to or push us into the sale they we're all helpful and again very considerate!!!
