Dishonest Sales Tactics
Overall a great experience
by Erin Padilla on 10/04/2024I am a believer in it’s where you end not where you start. I had some issues with my car and wasn’t necessarily a happy customer at first. Samantha was amazing and made sure to get me my car in working condition and that I was taken care of… along the way. Gm had back ordered parts so even though not the dealers fault they stood by their product. I would recommend because all dealers or service departments will have issues but ultimately it’s about how it’s handled and customer service and this dealership does have that. I bought another car from them as well recently.It’s wonderful to hear that Samantha turned your experience around and ensured you were well taken care of, despite the initial issues with your car. It’s true that how a dealership handles problems can make all the difference, and it sounds like they really stood by their product and provided excellent customer service. Your story is a great reminder that even when things don’t start off perfectly, they can end on a positive note with the right support. Dishonest Sales Tactics

If you decide to do business with this Michael Hohl you must beware of the dishonest tactics which they displayed trying to get trade values… and buy a vehicle. They are without a doubt taking advantage of people on trades and 'extras'; I have purchased dozens of new vehicles and this is by far the absolute worst experience my wife and I ever had. The salesman and sales manager displayed typical dishonest dealer tactics. I came in with numerous competing trade offers from local dealers and online car selling services, they had the nerve to come back with numbers significantly lower than anyone else in the are. One vehicle was ATLEAST -4,000 and the other approximately -3500 less than I received from Carmax, Corwin GMC, Mercedes Reno, Driveway, Nissan of Carson, GiveMeTheVin and Carvana. They some how presented me with even more slime ball tactics when they gave me a deal breakdown sheet (attached) which included a whopping 6,994 worth of added accessories. How they provided this sheet with a straight face is beyond me. Bonus slime ball points for having salesmen look at the truck acting like others were interested while we were waiting for numbers on the truck and trades. I let them know the deal is absolutely not happening and the offers were insulting and I thanked them for their time and walked, lo-behold I get a call two hours later when I am back home in Reno and the Sales person stated if you come back after 5 PM we will have a deal. I told him it will not be happening and would like to speak with the sales manager as to why they couldn't do this while I was there and why the were trying to take advantage people. Instead they chose to waste my families morning. Unsurprisingly I never received a call; I received an email from the General Manager a few days later asking if I needed any help; I let them know what happened and still never heard back. If you don't want to be taken advantage off I implore you to please go elsewhere. If you need a ACTUAL extended GM service contract you can buy them after the fact from knapp service contracts or Todd at MacMulkin Chevrolet for a fraction (70% less) of the cost Michael Hohl is charging. I purchased from a neighboring dealer and they didn't bat an eye at my trade values or me not wanting to pay any add ons with the same discount as Michael Hohl. My wife and I will be telling every person we know what happened here. Three words to describe this dealer = disgusting, dishonest and terrible.K James, we regret that we could not reach an agreement on the vehicle you were interested in. Overcharge rip-off delaership

60,000 Major Service For My Lucerne
by Schuarta on 09/24/2017Pricey, but thorough, service to ready my 2007 Lucerne for the next 60K. My only controversial item was the broken motor mount, producing "clunks" when gas was applied or released, much like an old worn differential. In my opinion a motor… mount should not fail, and if it did it should be warranted by the manufacturer. 2017 GMC Acadia Denali
by NoNeed2doso on 03/28/2017I failed to notice that the dealer added a "Dealer Adjustment" to the sticker, and that the dealer "negotiated" from that price point. I have always negotiated a price less than MSRP; in this instance, I paid MSRP plus the "Dealer… Adjustment". Basically, I paid WAY too much for the vehicle and while that is on me, it also influences my replies to the questions. No, I would not recommend this dealer but I would remind any potential buyer to follow the maxim "buyer beware". The dealer's rep certainly did me no favors.Helpful and friendly staff

My wife and I feel we received a good deal on a great truck. Very satisfied with our experience. This is… my wife's third car she has bought from this dealer.First bad experance.

by MFJChevy on 06/16/2016miYou had my car for over two weeks. I had to make calls to see where the progress was. Each time I had to leave a message ( really a message). To top it off I had to call back after leaving a message after 4 hours of no return call. I… waited at least 2-3 hrs for returned calls each time I left a message. Once I spoke to a lady who was pissy at best and after being put on hold she said 'it's not ready' I asked her ' well how long then ' she responded in a pissy voice ' I would have to go out andask the mechanic that question' which I replied 'what were you doing the 5 minutes I was on hold'. Got no response other than I would have to wait for someone else to call me back. Mark was nice but after over two weeks I still don't have all the parts and have yet to receive a call explaining when a motor cover will be in and how they plan on getting it on. I live in incline and because of your poor management and mistake I will be again out of time and money to drive to your shop for less than quality service. Disappointed as I respected your shop. It is where I bought my vehicle and had two friends buy vehicles. I will not look to buy a vehicle here again as I like having my vehicle serviced at the place I purchase. Also why wait for 6-8 days for parts. Amazon can deliver ant product anywhere in 2 days and I hdave to wait 6-8 days and then the order is incomplete. Inexcusable. I have been asked how my service went and I know of 5 people who chose not to go to your shop die to my experience. I really wanted to be a fan but this over two week incomplete and poor communication did me in. I will say Mark was nice when I talked to him but he had nothing to wok with other that 'I am sorry'. 'Out of my control'. Sorry does not work if it is a regular tool used and out of control is a sign of poor company.Purchase of 3500 GMC Denali

Instead I had to call back and see how things were progressing. This seems trivial but I… feel that if your going to tell me you will call, I should get the call. The main thing is that the service was great after the vehicle was dropped off. I also appreciate being picked up since I did not have a way to get to the shop. High marks for the staff after all was done.Great speedy transaction

Jordan was particularly helpful when she delivered the car, reviewing every button, dial, and screen with us (and there are… lots of them in these new computerized vehicles). by bborton on 09/08/2008I purchased 3 2007 pontiac vibes (all were new cars) I had to wait 6 mos to get a title for one car 6.5 months for the 2nd car. The 3rd car still has no title. The title work was done incorrectly sent to the wrong DMV office and the wrong… names were used. I still don't know when we will get the title for the 3rd car. All cars were paid for in cash. Michael Holh has not offered any meaningful help. Now they are requesting a title with the wrong address on it so they can get a title that will be changed later. Completely unsatisfactoryHorrible Experience!

This dealer and service department is NOT a customer advocate. They are looking out for their profit and if they… don't warranty the problem they make more profit. Chevrolet ended up covering the claim under warranty, after numerous calls. The dealer NEVER offered to help me in any way. When I did pick my new vehicle up the interior was covered with greasy handprints. I had to schedule another appointment for them to clean it and they even got wrong on the first try. I will NEVER do any business with Michael Hohl Chevrolet again. The dealership looks nice and new but don't judge a book by its cover, they are not a customer-focused business. For me it will be well worth the drive to Reno Chevrolet. This is the first negative review I have written on any site. We all deserve better.No complaints
