Terrible communication

Setup a test drive for 2 vehicles today and drove a half hour only to be told by Steven the salesman that both cars sold that morning. No call, Voicemail, Email or text saying they had sold in fact Steven emailed me a couple hours before my appointment to confirm the appointment. Unprofessional and inconsiderate is the best way to describe this dealership.

Awesome friendly, helpful, and non- pushy staff

I ,Mary, purchased a 2015 Rav 4 on 8/11/21 from Carlson Toyota. I had spoken to other sales staff at other dealerships, and just dreaded the pushiness of them. Spoke to Brennan in sales and we actually had a laugh or two while discussing the Suv 's I was interested in. Decided to take the trip up from cities and look at a acouple. I was very happy with Brennan, Pam, Nick, Ahmed, and Joe H.( In service), And want to THANK each one of you for your part in helping make this sale, by answering my questions, and taking the time to have service check out a few more concerns. All was good and I am a very happy customer! I will be referring others to visit you and recieve this same kind buying experience! Leave you hanging!!!

I recently purchased a certified preowned 2018 Toyota Highlander from Carlson Toyota. On the day of purchase, I spent 1 hour waiting because the dealership lost the keys. After finding 1 key in another vehicle they gave me an "I owe you" letter from management to come in for a 2nd key. When I got home, I noticed a large dent on the SUV's tailgate. After speaking with the manager Carrie Haugerud she said that if a dent was found in the photos Carlson would be responsible for damages as this is a certified vehicle and should have been disclosed. A few days later she replies with no dent found in photos, unable to cover costs. I requested the dealership photos where I compared my photos and you can clearly see the dent. Now Carrie Haugerud is not responding to the emails of photos I provided. This dealership should be avoided at all cost as they can't hold up to promises. Its approximately a $600 fix on a $30,000 vehicle. It’s not asking a lot! I have purchased my last two vehicles from them and will never again.

This place is a joke

Don't waste your time buying a vehicle from this place.The staff is very rude and do not appear to have much knowledge about the vehicles they sell.They tell you to take a vehicle for a test drive and call you 10 min after you leave freaking out asking if you are still on the test drive.They do not clean the inside of the vehicles when you buy the vehicle and they critisize your trade in vehicle if it is old and less than beautiful.Please go somewhere else...do not purchase from this unrehearsed rude company.Perhaps they can get a sales person who knows how to sell a vehicle....and a manager that isnt a total self centered know it all. Cheese!!! :)

Won't respond to new car's paint issues inquiry

They will sell you a car in a new york minute but if you find a problem GOOD LUCK! I found some paint issues on my new Prius and have e-mailed the sales manager and general sales manager and not gotten any response. Also e-mailed internet sales manager (twice) and both times his response was "I'll talk to my boss" but guess what....still waiting for a response. All I want is for them to make things right, touch up the scratches and chipped paint.🤬

Sheila is the best!!

We just drove home in our new 2017 RAV4 and couldn't wait to leave a review of Carlson Toyota and especially Sheila Pierson, our sales rep. As first-time Toyota buyers, we couldn't have asked for a better buying experience. Sheila was so fun to work with and helped us find the perfect vehicle for our needs. We were on a tight time schedule and needed our new vehicle to be prepped for delivery in just a day or two, including the addition of a remote starter. Thanks to Sheila and the folks in the installation area, our car was ready as promised and earlier than expected. It was a pressure-free buying experience from a knowledgeable staff. What more can a person ask for?? We'd definitely recommend this dealer, especially Sheila. You won't regret looking her up if you're interested in a new car!

I recently purchased a new 2016 4Runner from Carlson Toyota and could not be more pleased with the experience. Our sales representative was very knowledgeable about the Toyota vehicle options and how much Carlson Toyota values its' customers. He walked us through all of the details of purchasing a great reliable vehicle from them and there were no surprises when it came time to buy. I will definitely be contacting Carlson Toyota for my next vehicle purchase.

Worst dealership!!

Me and my wife were shopping for Used Camry and went to this place to check out their inventory. The sales person- Jihan had no knowledge about the car. We asked her if Camrys have continuous vehicle transmission and she was stumbling, then she messaged someone and after getting the answer, she told us. It is okay if they do not know something about the car but she cared nothing about treating customers with respect. It was priced way too high compared to other dealers but as we liked the car, we tried to work a deal. She did not even show interest to work a deal. Later we tried to work with a manager and from discussing with the manager, we came to understand that this dealer is so worthless. The manager did not even bother to hear us, he told in an impolite manner that it is the final pricing for the car. We said treating customers impolitely gives no customer satisfaction for someone who is interested in buying from them for which he repeatedly said "I DO NOT CARE ABOUT CUSTOMER SATISFACTION". He repeatedly said he is not point blank but kept his conversation point blank. No way they are friendly and no wonder they have such a low rating. The car is still in their lot and it will unless they behave with respect.. Avoid this place !!

Easy smooth process

Went in on a wednesday and had an appointment, was shown all of the features of the car and what each diferent level of model had and then went for a test drive. negotiated a fair deal that was almost spot on with the TMV price and the whoole process took about 3 hours including the credit ap. Went back the next day and took delivery of car after they detailed it and filled it up. Very thorough send off to esure I understood all of the features of the car. No hard sell on the warranty options with the finance guy and let me tell you there are about 40 different maintenance or protection packages. Credit ap was short and sweet for TFS. Salesmen was polite, friendly and attentive and the sales manager was even an OK guy. Best car buying experience I have had to date, would definitly buy another car her and I will be bringing my car her for regularly scheduled service in the future. They impressed me, give them a shot.

My wife and I were treated like royalty when we purchased her 2013 Rav 4. We traded in a 2008 Rav 4 on the new car. We were so pleased with the great attention given in helping us learn about the new vehicle. We have had nothing but great service when bringing her old car for oil changes and other service. Carlson Toyota Blows

By far the worst buying experience of my life! Bought a used truck from them and it had many major problems that were stated as in proper working condition under their inspection. They refused to take responsibility for their mistakes and now I'm out over $1000 in repairs. They kept the vehicle for 5 days before I had to call them, I spoke to at least 5 different people to get an answer. Their idea to help me was to quote "give me a good price if I would like to trade the truck in for something different." Carlson Toyota's motto reads, "Your gonna like it here! Its more than our motto, it's a guarantee."...I think not! Please, if you are reading this review, do NOT waste your hard earned money on [non-permissible content removed]. Also, the sales person Roger T. is a pushy, shiesty,[non-permissible content removed]. Buyer's Beware!

Horrible Customer Service

There is a difference between saying "We want you to walk out of here a satisfied customer, customer service is our number one priority" and actually following through with it. We purchased a used vehicle last month from Carlson, and had terrible customer service. The first test drive ended with the salesman saying, "park it in the back over there, unless you are going to buy it right now." Bold. We went in the next day, and the same salesman greeted us, and asked how he could help us. We said we'd like to look at the car again (we stated the color and model that we had driven with him in the back the day before). He asked, "Oh, okay, do you remember who helped you with that yesterday?" We said.....yes......you did. And he still didn't remember us. We liked the car, so after agreeing on a price, we made the purchase. The car was washed and ready to go. We got into the car and noticed that the gas tank was empty. I went in and asked the sales manager if they filled the gas tanks when people spend over $20,000 on a used car. He said, "no, we only fill the tank on a new car, why would we fill the tank on a used one?" Hmmm.....maybe for good customer service??? After going home, we noticed that our tabs expired in 30 days. After calling, we were told oh, yeah, they are on order, and we'll mail them to you as soon as they arrive. 2 weeks later, I had to call and ask, and we were told to come and pick them up, they would not be mailed out. It has been almost a month, and we've had ZERO follow up on our purchase. They have not called, emailed, or anything to see how things are going with the vehicle. Overall I am not impressed at all with the level of customer service that we received at Carlson Toyota. We would not recommend them, and would never purchase another vehicle from them again.

Bad experience at Carlson Toyota Coon Rapids

We looked at a pre-owned 2007 Corolla that was selling for $11999.00, the car had a crack along the whole lower half of the windshield, a 7" crack in the front bumper and various cosmetic scratchs, well it is used but we had to point out the crack in the windshield and said that it would have to be replaced, the saleman's response was that we could buy it and have our insurance pay for it! Unbelievable. They wouldn't come down on the price at all considering the damage until we left, they then offered to come down $300.00. I found a Honda Civic without any kind of problems and a free carfax at White Bear Accura, what a completely different (great) experience in comparison. They offered and replaced rotors after they told us there was a problem! Tip: shop around there are huge differences in quality of car, service and prices.

This is the best dealership in the twin cities

This is the best dealership in the Twin Cities! I pulled up in front and this place has got to be the best looking dealership in town. it is truely state of the art. All the staff is friendly and helpful they had a great selection of cars and my salesperson was very helpful ( not pushy ) the price was fair and I met all the managers in parts and service before I left.Everyone that works there seems to enjoy their job and most of the employees have been working for the dealership a long time which is nice I feel like part of their family! I think if you are looking for a new or used car this is where you want to buy it ! Thanks Carlson Toyota I do like here !

Carlson Toyota smells like fruad

After putting a $500 deposit on a currently out of stock vehicle at Carlson Toyota, I later found the same car at a different Toyota dealership. I signed no contract with Carlson Toyota but when I decide not to buy from them, they refuse to refund my $500 deposit. Even after filing a complaint with Toyota Consumer Relations and calling directly to the dealership, they refuse to explain why they were refusing (stealing) my refund. When I finally made contact with someone in finance they treated me with no respect by calling me names and saying I had to take them to court to get my $500 deposit back. It took two months and the help of The MN Attorney General before they I got my money back.
