    Planet Subaru in Hanover experience was completely OPPOSITE of any experience we have ever had purchasing a vehicle, and that’s a GREAT thing!!! Everything up front and discussed, no shifty paperwork and numbers, everything is laid out in front of you and literally on the table for view/discussing. Sales, financing and service departments all had happy employees excited about their jobs and products and genuinely there to HELP! They tout themselves as the “un-dealership”... that’s an understatement and it’s AWESOME! So glad there wasn’t any high pressure and stress... no one wants of needs that when trying to make a major financial decision.

    I went back to planet Suburu after a few years and a couple different dealerships. I went back because I bought a forester off of Ryan and to this day it was my best car buying experience and I’ve had a lot of experience buying cars. I reached out to him and he sent me Derek’s way. Derek is alot like Ryan where they are knowledgeable about what they are selling and above all honest and direct.

  • Brought 2010 Forrester for service, ended up getting a 2021 Forrester too!

    My husband and I brought in 2010 Forrester for maintenance service & inspection sticker. While waiting for service decided to looked at a new 2021 Forrester. We were fortunately introduced Nick Hoffman to assist us. Nick is friendly , laid back and knowledgeable about cars of all types. We felt no pressure from Nick to buy, and he was very helpful answering all questions comparing Forrester to Outback. We took test drive, really liked the updated features. Since Forrester is having great financing deal we decided it would be good time to buy a new one for me and pass my 2010 to my daughter. We then found out our 2010 needed more work done then we expected new exhaust being the most costly parts as the car couldn't pass inspection. Nicky Moberg in the service department is always great to work with and suggested that we could save money with after market parts which did save us considerable amount of money! Repairs came in lower than estimate which was a pleasant surprise. Joe Harris and Eric Urbanowicz worked with us on the financing and warranty and made the transaction easy both of them nice guys. Spent A LOT of money between repairs and new car, very happy with both decisions.

    Our search for a late model Subaru Outback 3.6 ended when we drove from Everett to Hanover and pulled into Planet Subaru. Excellent service, we got a great 2018 Outback 3.6, if you are looking for pre-owned Subaru, Planet is the place to go for greatest inventory and an easy as it gets experience.

    This was our second time purchasing a car at Planet Subaru, and it was just as great an experience the second time as our first back in 2000. Kony, our salesperson, was outstanding in her knowledge and patience with us as we worked through our needs and wants. She was clear on each and every step of the process and there were no surprises. This was not a high pressure sales situation, which is greatly appreciated when making such a major investment. Eric, who managed the finance end of our purchase, was equally organized and clear with the process, and there were no surprises there either. This was the easiest car purchase we have ever made, and it’s likely that we’ll be back in the future. Planet Subaru figured out long ago that high pressure sales at other dealerships may sell cars, but that working in tandem with the customer to figure out where their wants and needs intersect makes for better customer experience, which encourages repeat customers. Great job!

  • Stellar Service!

    We were introduced to Planet Subaru by several friends how have purchased vehicles there. After being brand loyal to another auto brand for many years, we were skeptical about even looking at another brand, but we had become unhappy with our current vehicle after multiple service issues. David in the Planet Subaru sales department put us immediately at ease. He was patient with us (and our multiple test drives!) and answered all of our many questions, as we knew very little about the Subaru brand aside form what friends who own them had shared. His professionalism and concern that we were happy with our decision was above and beyond. It was clear that his goal was not simply to put us in a car, but to build a relationship and ensure we were satisfied with the entire process. In the end, and after considering many other brands, we chose a Subaru Forester. The entire buying process, from sales to finance (thanks Ron!), was easy and very transparent with no pressure or surprises. I highly recommend David and the Planet team to anyone who even thinks they might be interested in a Subaru.

    I purchased a 'buy back' subaru forester. I was told the problem had been found and fixed. It turns out that the problem wasn't fixed. It is intermittent and unusual making it difficult to replicate, diagnose and fix. The car, vin #JF2SJGXC5GH427945, will suddenly lose power. Terrifying when it happens, especially if at night or when entering traffic at any speed. It turns out that this is the exact same issue the first owner had and was the reason it was returned as a lemon. The problem was never fixed, just intermittent and unpredictable enough that it took the first owner 17K miles to turn it in and me about 20K miles. From my perspective this is still the same lemon since the problem was never fixed. Planet subaru and subaru of america view this as another sales opportunity for them. They offered me 8K less than their lemon (5-6K less than KBB) buy back formula and tried to sell me a car a year older without turbo or eyesight and with an extra 5K miles for 1K over KBB! Despicable companies. I informed Jermaine Fischer, the regional SOA rep and Nate Roman, the planet sales manager of the life threatening failure this car has. Neither will agree to take this car off the road for good. Since the problem is so intermittent and difficult to replicate, they could change the oil, test drive the car for 500 miles without a problem, and claim to have 'fixed' it again. Two different dealerships and Subaru of America have tried numerous times over the life of this car and have been unsuccessful. After weeks of unsuccessful repair attempts, an unsuccessful attempt to get a promise that the car will come off the road, and an unsuccessful attempt at getting fair reimbursement (lemon equation or KBB value) I have come to realize that I am stuck taking whatever they give me for the car. I will never drive it again and I am just happy that no one in my family dies driving it. I can't sell it elsewhere because I would never pretend that there wasn't a fatal flaw in this car. In the end Nate Roman from sales offered me KBB value in exchange for me not speaking out about this car and his management of the situation. I said no. I won't sell my soul for a couple thousand bucks. I feel that it is my moral obligation to see that this car is never on the road again. Do not buy this car! I would also avoid Planet Subaru. It turns out the 'Undealership' really is just like all the rest.
    • This entire situation is very unfortunate. I hope you would at least agree that we put in plenty of effort in our attempt to replicate the problem that you've described. We never doubted you when you told us you had this issue and we were happy to provide you with substitute transportation for the very long duration of this attempted diagnosis. In that time our most experienced master technician may have driven this car more than any before it in an attempt to find anything wrong. Even though you owned the car for nearly three years, we still did what we could to come up with a solution that would make everyone happy. My understanding is that Subaru offered you a very generous amount of financial assistance if you had been interested in a new Subaru, which is the kind of help that many manufacturers wouldn't  provide, especially after such a long ownership period and no evidence of any defect. Since that wasn't what you wanted, we thought we had a good second option for you, which was greatly complicated by your insistence that the car be repurchased and then destroyed. We're very fortunate that difficult situations are so rare with our customers and it's nearly unheard of that they don't come to a mutually satisfactory conclusion.     Purchased my Legacy at Planet Subaru and had the best car buying experience of my life! All credit to my the sales person whom sold me the car-Rhonda Sommer. Rhonda was polite, professional, informative and most of all-no pressure. Unlike any car buying experience, I left Planet Subaru feeling like I was treated with respect and dignity. If your looking yo buy a car go to planet and ask for Rhonda.

    If you prefer to deal with a traditional sleazy car salesperson, you won't find that here! Great experience buying from Planet. Everyone that I encountered was incredibly friendly, genuine, helpful and professional. I got the vibe that everyone that works at Planet loves their job and are genuinely committed to your satisfaction. There is no pressure to buy - they work hard to make sure your questions are answered and that you are comfortable and happy with your purchase first and foremost. Their pricing pledge is legit: Any fees are spelled out front and center and there are no hidden surprises. No bait and switch. If you are in the market for a Subaru, they really live and breathe their values and it's worth the trip.
