Service Dept Broke my Car
by Jimmy Worrell on 01/03/2025updated 01/13/2025Service department is incompetent, they will break your car diagnosing it because they don't know what they're doing. - Told by Napleton that it would be $9,000 to replace a wire harness "ruined by corrosion" - Got it fixed for $400 -… Mechanic that repaired it laughed saying, "they ruined these wires probing to figure out what was wrong with them" I live less than a 4 minute walk from Napleton, it's super convenient for me, but it's just not worth it. If you read nothing else on the internet, just know this: save yourself the hassle [non-permissible content removed].

He never made me feel silly for the questions I asked but was forthright and earnest when dealing with a major issue on my… vehicle. Not timely-no questions ever answered
by Hall on 09/11/2018I was BEYOND excited to be buying my car at Hyundai until after I had to call and call and call and call......... and call for service for my car. When I first bought my vehical, they didn’t even take the paper covering my back left window… (my blind spot) even after calling endlessly to get someone to do it. I had to go near 21st and Sherman to get it off. ridiculous to say the least as I could have gotten into an accident. On another note, I’m constantly transferred to the managers voicemail that never calls back since staff doesn’t know the answer to seemly simple questions considering it’s their job. It took me 3-4 months to get a part replaced that they didn’t put back on my vehical because I had to call a number of times over the course of 3-4 months. I highly recommend Hyundai as a brand, but this location (82nd street) is pretty sad honestly. I went to another Hyundai in Indianapolis and they answered right away and helped me with other issues. Hyundai I consider you guys visit this location and get their communication skills trained. I’m not perfect but dealing with this for 7 months is honestly a complete headache. by DB on 07/17/2018My initial contact with your service department was when I was placed in contact with Tamara Smiertelny. I had called your location several times for an oil change only to be directed to your call center in another state that could not… provide me with the information I needed. Finally my call was sent to Tamara, who calmed me down, was able to provide me with the information I needed, and I was able to come in and get my oil change. In the process I found out I had two recalls that needed to be addressed A part for one of the recalls was not available so I had to make another appointment for that one. I made an appointment for 1 pm on 7/17/2018. I came in Tamara took excellent care of me, checked me in and she was told by the service department I should be no later than 3:15 pm. I waited a bit, left and came back at 4 pm to pick up my car. She checks on my car and they tell her it will be at least another hour. My car does not get completed until after 5 pm. This is unacceptable. The rest of this is in my previous review entitled "Not happy at all". I want to reiterate the excellent customer service I received from Tamara. She is the only reason I gave Napleton Hyundai another chance. She did everything right. The actual service department that services the cars did not. I also want to mention the new General Manager of this location was amazing. He listened to my complaint, and sincerely apologized and was able to calm me down. I want to thank them both for their excellent customer service.Thank you for your feedback! We are so glad Tamara was able to help turn your experience around. Not happy at all
by DB on 07/17/2018I came to Honda today to have a recall taken care of that I had to come back for since they didn't have the part necessary the first time. Time to fix was quoted as 1.5 hrs. My appointment was at 1pm. Left and returned at 4pm. Why am I… waiting an additional hour for my car? I am livid. I am greeted with a list of recommendations for my car. Why was that time not spent taking care of the recall? A five point inspection is not necessary since I was just her 3 weeks ago for a oil change, etc. Get it together people!!! I am not trying to spend all day with ya'll! The up side of this is that Tamera was helpful, tried to take care of me with a loaner car, kept me calm and was the voice of reason. She provided excellent customer service. She is really the only reason I came back after the fiasco that is your phone system. One word. RIDICULOUS. Calling for my original visit for a oil change was utterly ridiculous. With that being said, I will not recommend not come back for services or to upgrade. You could learn a lot from Hyundai a few doors down. They know how to get it done in a timely manner.Thank you again for your feedback.
