  • Misled on EV Charging Credit – Disappointing Experience at Mercedes-Benz of

    My spouse and I had a disappointing experience with our lease at Mercedes-Benz of Westmont, specifically regarding the EV charging credit. At the time of purchase, we were informed that we would receive a 2-year EV charging credit, which heavily influenced our decision. Unfortunately, the dealership failed to confirm whether the promotion was still valid. All we were given was a Wallbox charger — with no follow-up or clarification. Now, we're stuck covering the installation costs ourselves and missed out on the charging credit entirely. This could have easily been avoided with a simple verification on their part. We expected more transparency and accountability from a premium brand. Buyers, especially EV customers, should double-check all promotional details and not rely solely on dealership claims.

    I'VE BEEN DEALING WITH THE SAME ISSUES SINCE I REPORTED IT THE DAY FOLLOWING THE PURCHASE. SEVERAL MAJOR SAFETLY ISSUES. THEY CONTINUE TO STATE THAT THEY CAN'T DUPLICATE THE ISSUE THEREFORE THEY CAN'T RESOLVE IT. I'VE GONE AS FAR AS TO TAKE PHOTOS OF THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT THAT COMES ON WHENEVER IT'S IN THE MOOD. SMELL OF BURNING OIL, BUT THEY CAN'T SEEM TO SMELL IT. MAYBE THEIR TECHNICIANS NEED TO GET THEIR SENSES TESTED. SO FAR THEY CAN'T SEE, HEAR, OR SMELL. UNBELIEVABLE.

    Great service. I love my car and it is very important to me that I can depend on my vehicle. I receive great service from Westmont Mercedes and I appreciate my service Rep. Valerie. She always makes it easy and understandable. Overall very happy with the service. I own two classic Mercedes and two more are getting close. All are in great shape and I hope to be driving them long in to the future.

    I purchased six cars since 2018, four brand new and two used. My latest purchase, I saw an ad in autotrader.com for a one owner used GLS63 vehicle that was purchased new by original owner at Westmont Mercedes, serviced and traded in at Westmont Mercedes. At first the transaction and everything went smooth. I was affirmed by Christopher, the salesman, the vehicle was traded in just a few days before, but not detailed or cleaned yet. It’s not like they didn’t have time to prep the vehicle for sale. The car business is very slow. Christopher assured me that the vehicle went through their 100 point inspection and suv was fully serviced and vehicle had no mechanical issues or leaks. I asked for the inspection report several times, but was not delivered to me. That was my fault for not being persistent and believing the salesman. Why would they lie, It’s a Mercedes dealer. I purchased the SUV that same night, but the vehicle was not delivered to me until 2 1/2 days later because they had to remove a couple door dings and detail the vehicle. The door ding was never removed. I drove the car home that Friday evening. After driving it for a few days, there was a burnt smell coming from the radiator. I dropped the vehicle off at the my mechanic shop and left town for a few days. The mechanic called me back up and said the vehicle was leaking oil from both sides of the timing cover gaskets. I drove the vehicle back to the Mercedes dealer within seven or eight days of original purchase. I confronted the salesman, and he stated he doesn’t know how that happened. I told him I didn’t want the vehicle as I felt misled and lied too about the mechanical condition. Chris stated I went past the five day mark of being able to return. The car manager named Ken offered me $8500 less, then after arguing raised it to $6500 less than what I paid for it if I wanted to trade it in for new vehicle. He stated that’s how the car business is. My second option was they agreed to fix the timing cover leaks only if their warranty company agrees to pay for it. As I’m writing this, the vehicle been in the shop for one week and the service person involved has said the dealer warranty company (not my warranty )has not approved the repairs as of yet. If warranty company doesn’t pay, the service advisor hinted I would have to pay for the repairs. If that’s the case, I’ll just seek legal advice. I will update if that happens. I didn’t even put 60 miles on the vehicle. I take 100% blame for believing the dealer and not inspecting the vehicle with a flashlight in the engine bay. Bottom line, this was car was never serviced. Mercedes of Westmont sold vehicle knowing it’s leaking oil. The reason for this review is to raise awareness when buying a used vehicle without warranty, especially, a high end used vehicle from any dealer and especially, if you are buying from Mercedes of Westmont. Never believe a car salesman. Oh btw, AutoNation owns them.

    Had a great experience at Mercedes Benz of Westmont. Everyone was so welcoming from the moment I arrived. Hasan was very helpful and knowledgeable about the process turning in my lease as well as assisting me with leasing a new vehicle. The process went smoothly and everything was done in a couple of hours. Definitely will recommend this dealer to others!

    Car sat with dealership for over a month, dealership not Mercedes engineering could figure out drain plugs were clogged and that’s why my car was holding water. Service manager never gave valid updates, told us to file a claim, we may have a lemon. So I did. Mercedes Benz USA took over 40 days to contact me. I was told 24-48 hours. The drain plugs are not clogged anymore but there is still “manufacturing dust” inside my frame. When this “dust” clogs the plugs again and my warrant is up, who pays for it? But I was told to buy the extended warranty. Tell me, why do I buy the extended warranty? Why should I have to pay extra for something clearly done by manufacturing. It’s not mechanical, it’s not cosmetic, it’s simply poor, and sloppy design and lack of care to clean products in manufacturing. And to add the cherry on top of the sunday….we go pick our vehicle up, and the interior was filled with grease, and scratched up along the passenger side where the technicians were working. Not one seat liner or floor liner was put in while servicing the vehicle. We purchased the maintenance plan, tire plan and we get treated terribly. As stated, we purchased the tire package. My wife got a flat tire and Mercedes replaced the tire no issues. While our vehicle was in not more than a month after getting the new tire, the vehicle diagnoses done by the tech states I need 4 new tires. May I ask why? 3 tires yes, but 1 tire not even a month old needs to be replaced?! I felt like they were trying to get extra money and take advantage of my wife who brought the car in for service. Terrible experience not only with Mercedes of Westmont but Mercedes Benz USA in generally. Terrible lack of communication if any communication at all. I felt like I was and still am trying to be taken advantage of and have been lied to through this whole process.

    Made an annual service appointment on my Mercedes Benz. The actual service/maintenance performed on my vehicle was fine but service through advisor was a big disappointment such that I won't be purchasing a Mercedes again from this dealership. This is based on last year's annual service appointment and this year's annual service appointment. I brought my car in for service at 10:00 AM and unfortunately, the service department no longer uses porters but Uber. My advisor contacted Uber to take me back home. I got in the Uber vehicle and the driver told me the address that he was driving me to. I told him that wasn't correct and he assumed I made the call for pick up. The Uber driver told me that he couldn't take me to my home address because that wasn't the address he received. I had to go back into the service area and find my advisor and explain the situation to him. He checked his records and my address was correct in their system so he couldn't understand why Uber had the wrong address. My service advisor had to come out and explain the situation to the Uber driver. It ended up that the driver had to change the address on his phone in order that he could take me home. That day I waited at home for Mercedes to call me and inform me that my car was ready. I waited and waited, and finally I called at 5:30 PM since no one had called me. I called my advisor's line but he most likely left for the day. I called back and was told my car was ready and that I could come and pick it up. The individual I talked to was ready to hang up the phone and I said how do you expect me to get to your dealership, walk. She then stated she would need to talk to her manager. She said her manager would call Uber to pick me up. I told her forget it after my experience in the morning with the wrong address, I wasn't going to wait outside for someone who would never show up. Given it was almost 6:00 pm and the dealership/service area would be closing in an hour, I told them that I would ask a friend to drive me to their dealership tomorrow so that I could get my car. Now, this is what happened at last year's service appointment which resulted in me waiting outside in the rain 45 minutes. I received a call around 5:30 pm that a porter was coming to pick me up so that I could get my car. The porter was delayed from a previous pick up but no one called me to notify me of the delay. I waited in my condo vestibule about 15 minutes but no one showed up. I thought because of the rain and it was evening, the porter couldn't find my building so I walked in the rain to the entrance of my complex and took cover under an awning. After almost waiting 30 minutes,, I called the service department. The phones just rang and rang with no one picking up the phone. I called back several times and each time pushed another designated number to speak to someone. Finally, after my 4th time calling, I spoke to the operator who transferred me. The person who then answered apologized and told me that they were experiencing a problem and the porter is coming now to pick me up. I told him I sure hope so because the dealership would be closing in about 40 minutes. As for some of the survey questions, I truly can't answer "yes" or "no." For instance, did the dealer honor all commitments made? I would think calling me to notify me that my car is ready for pick up would be a commitment though the advisor never said that he would call me. Also, I'm not sure whether the work was completed within the timeframe promised, since I never received a called when my car was ready for pick up. Yes, I could have called back after the promised time but based on my previous experience when I brought my car in for service and I did call back at my promised time I would find my car wasn't ready, or the mechanic found something additional that needed to be repaired so my service advisor would need to call me back anyway.
