Frustrating Service Experience at Bredemann Toyota
by Satyabrata Mahapatra on 07/24/2024I recently encountered a significant issue with the volume buttons on my brand new 2024 Venza XLE, particularly when using YouTube connected to my phone via Bluetooth. I took my car to Bredemann Toyota in Park Ridge and spoke with Service… Consultant Bridgette Berrio. Initially, Bridgette attempted to address the problem by removing the old Bluetooth connection and adding a new one, but the issue persisted. She claimed that she owns the same vehicle and insisted that this behavior was normal, advising me to use apps like Spotify or Pandora instead of YouTube. I do not understand how these music apps can be compared to YouTube. When I requested that a mechanic look at the issue, Bridgette refused, stating they would perform the same steps and that I would need to pay $139, even though the car is under warranty, or take the car to the dealer where I purchased it. She also mentioned that all managers had left for the day, even though it was only 4:30 PM. Eventually, she agreed to have a colleague check it. This colleague managed to get the volume control to work once but couldn’t determine how to resolve the issue permanently. Finally, she created a work order to have a mechanic take a look. Later, Bridgette informed me that this is a known issue with Venzas and is already mentioned in the user's manual. When I asked her to show me the specific page, she pointed to some pages that did not mention this issue but said something else. She interpreted the content in a way that supported her claim. When I mentioned that I never had this issue with my 2018 Prius, 2023 Corolla, other Toyota vehicles, or my 2024 Model Y, her reply was that each vehicle is different. This experience was quite frustrating. Overall, the service I received was disappointing and unhelpful. Based on my experience, I would not recommend Bredemann Toyota for any vehicle purchase or service.SErvice Advisor and supervisor not friendly
by Walleyekiller on 09/23/2021Service advisor Andy Maravola was more interesting socializing with cashiers (I interrupted 3 times) than listening to the customer issues, vehicle driving in dust conditions and according to the toyota manual the oil need to be changed,… but because is free he said is 10000 miles, but after the 2 free years of manintence is finish, they want to change the oil every 5000 miles because you have to pay the dealer, Supervisor Mike Cooper not too friendly and rude hang up the phone conversation, I guess will take my business somewhere elseExcellent Service: Richard Vasquez

He is excellent in what he does for his customers, making sure everything in the process to run smoothly and… efficiently. Thank you! I truly appreciate the quality customer service I received here as well as my car getting fixed! I would recommend requesting his service to others!Richard Vasquez and Bredemann Toyota are great!

But when we started getting service through Richard Vasquez in their service department the truly… exceptional experience began. Richard has always gone above and beyond to make sure the Sienna is well cared for and kept in top shape. And he tried to ensure it's at the best cost to us each time. In addition Richard knows our family and remembers what is going on with us and never fails to ask about our health and well being. Having a service person that shows a genuine personal connection and concern for us creates a very good perspective on the dealer. We realize car dealers are in business to make money but dealing with Richard Vasquez has made us realize that in Bredemann they care about us too.Thank you so much for taking the time to post this wonderful review and share your experience with us online. He takes time to explain problems found and how to fix them. He manages (out od stock) parts… ordering and scheduling of any follow up appointments at my convenience. Every problem with my cars have been fixed promptly and expertly. My experience with Bredemann Toyota service has been great so far!Thank you for your wonderful review! by MJP41937 on 12/14/2015I recently had my 2011 Avalon in for periodic service and maintenance. I reported a "squawk"-aka-discrepancy the car was drifting to the left. This could become serious because I had four tires replaced and four wheel alignment done about a… month prior. Joe Sanchez, my Service Rep told the mechanic about it. The mechanic did an excellent troubleshooting. He found the belts shifted in the left front tire. He replaced the tire and now the car drives well behaved. Great service and great experience
by cananda on 02/15/2013updated 06/01/2025I brought in my 2000 Camry for an oil change. Upon arriving I was pleasantly greeted by the service adviser, Erick. He kindly took me in with no appointment and said, "We're really busy. It will take an hour and a half." I figured since I… put off the oil change for so long, it was okay to wait. While he was writing me up for my oil change, I was surprisingly greeted with homemade cookies that were delicious! When he finished writing me up, he told me he'd tried to get it done quicker so I wouldn't have to wait long. After 45 minutes waiting, he called me out of the waiting room and brought up a few issues concerning my car. Erick was able to fully explain what the additional repairs were and why I needed it. Before this I did not know what "carbon build up" was in the engine and how often I should be changing my fluids. After he explained everything to me, I told him to go ahead with the additional repairs. He said it would take additional time for my car to get fixed so without me asking, he offered a loaner car for me to take home. Lucky for me, he was able to get me a 4Runner, which I had been DYING TO TEST DRIVE! When I came back to the dealership, my car was all set to go. Erick explained the paper work, showing me a multi-point inspection sheet that he was able to dumb down for me so that I was able to understand what I was looking at. He even called it a "report card" to help me understand. When heading to the cashier, I knew I was going to be paying a lot of money, but again, without me asking, Erick was able to put a coupon on that saved me money!! I was very pleased with the service that I received from Erick and for future repair work, I will be requesting Erick to take care of my car.Great!

Wonderful Service

The service I spoke with was Richard V. and he explained everything in detail down literally to the nuts and bolts! Price was not as bad as I thought and I received… excellent customer service especially since I had to leave me car at the shop for three days. I was given a quote and when it came time to pay it was actually lower than what I was quoted. Thanks richard for the great service and thanks Bredemann for the convenient location.Great Service

by jeanneb1 on 06/25/2013updated 06/01/2025I received a recall notice by mail for my 2003 Toyota RAV4. The letter is addressed to me by name and has the VIN number of my car on it. The recall is related to a harsh shift condition. I contacted the Bredemann Toyota dealership… immediately upon receiving this letter because I have experienced a harsh shift issue with my car. I spoke with Shawn H. in the service department to schedule an appointment. Without seeing my car or checking the VIN number Mr. H. told me that the recall did not apply to my car. I explained that the letter was addressed to me personally and has my VIN number on it. I gave him the VIN number which he claimed to be checking in the computer while he was talking to me. Again Mr. H. insisted that the recall did not apply to my car. When I asked him why I had received a letter with my VIN number that had nothing to do with my car he told me that Toyota was just letting me know about a problem other RAV4 owners had. I persisted that my car does have this problem and he said that may be but that if I wanted them to look at it they would charge to diagnose the problem and for the repairs. I went to Bredemann Toyota in person and spoke with a manager. I explained the situation and he also insisted that the recall did not apply to my car. He told me that he had confirmed this with Mr. H. He offered no explanation about why Toyota would send me this letter if it didnt apply to my car. He was extremely rude and walked away from me while I was speaking to me. He told to go somewhere else. I decided to take the car to another Toyota dealership in Schaumburg, IL. I brought the car in on June 24, 2013 without an appointment and showed the letter to one of the specialists in the service department. Brian looked at the letter, checked the mileage on the car and told me it would be no problem. A diagnostic check indicated malfunction code P0755, one of the codes listed in the recall letter. Brian told me that if I had waited three more days to bring the car in I would have passed the recall time limit. I believe Bredemann purposely tried to put me off to avoid making the repairs. Brian also apologized because he needed to order a part and couldnt fix the car the same day, we would have to come back and pick it up the next day. I was very impressed by his professionalism and his respect for our time. I strongly regret not going to Schaumburg Toyota in the first place. I purchased five of the six Toyotas that I have owned at Schaumburg Toyota despite the fact that Bredemann Toyota is less than two miles from my home. Regrettably, I just bought a new RAV4 this year from Bredemann.(Margaret in sales was great but I will never go back because of the service dept. and the manager of dealership). It is the last time I will ever purchase anything from Bredemann. I posted this on Facebook and since posting the story I have had many responses from others who have also had a bad experience with this dealership. Many of them purchased a Toyota at another dealership but the majority went to another manufacturer. Bredemann Toyota is damaging Toyotas reputation. It seems like Bredemann does more for Nissan and Honda than Toyota. It's too bad because Toyota makes an excellent product and they shouldn't be tarnished this way.We sincerely apologize that your experience with us did not meet your expectations. He is very honest in his assessments of the vehicle, pricing is always fair… and everything is done in a timely manner.
