Used car purchase from 7000 miles away... and I'd do it again!
by Fit_and_frugal on 07/26/2014Great experience with Honda Windward and my salesman, Bob L. Before moving to Hawaii, I purchased a used 2010 Honda Fit from Bob via the internet. On the day I flew into HNL, I arrived at Windward at 15:00 and was driving off the lot by… 17:30. Good stuff. Buying a used car, in general, has its risks but buying one sight unseen from 7000 miles away can be an act of blind trust. As it turns out, I'm glad I trusted the Honda Windward team! I am very happy with my purchase and even more happy with my customer experience and my interaction with Bob in particular. As the reviews on Yelp, cars dot com, and Edmonds will say about him, Bob is certainly the "un-salesman". I never felt he was pushing for a quick sale and I always felt he was forthcoming, genuine, and let the transaction flow at my pace. In addition to setting me up with a good car at a good price, Bob is also a genuinely good guy. Knowing I was new to the Island, he gave me some good tips and tidbits about places to live, places to avoid, and fun activities to do with my family. He also has a wide network of contacts and can refer realtors, cellular providers, tour companies, etc. All satisfied customers of his, I assume. After my purchase, of course he called and emailed to follow up to make sure things were right and to check if I needed any help with house hunting. Like I said, he's just a genuinely good guy. I probably won't live in Hawaii long enough to need another car, but if I do, I'll definitely come back to Windward.2011 Pilot Touring from Honda Winward

Reason being is that the Sales Associate, James Igawa made me feel comfortable and never pressured me in purchasing… the vehicle right away. I told him that I was interested in the 2010 Honda Sport Fit and he was very informative in showing me everything about the car. I was so impressed, that I decided to purchase it. James Igawa has outstanding customer service, is very patient and was fair and flexible with the pricing of the vehicle. He came in on his day off off and missed his basketball game to meet me and my husband so we could purchase our vehicle that day. James Igawa is a great asset to Honda Windward. So when it came time to buy a new Honda I had high expectations for the Sales… Department. I'm happy to say that my experience with the Sales team lived up to my expectations. Our salesman, Kevin Asahara, was helpful and friendly. He made sure that all our questions were fully answered and we greatly appreciated his knowledge and advice. Perhaps most importantly, he was calm and patient with us while we decided and we never felt like he was pushing us into a decision. I'm very happy with my new Civic and I look forward to continuing my excellent relationship with Windward Honda.A good place to buy a car & pet friendly too!
by randyfrancis on 10/03/2010My wife and I had just dropped off peperwork at our credit union when she said "do you just want to go over and look." I knew where she meant, because she had purchased her last 2 cars from Honda Windward. I was hesitant because we had… our 4 1/2 month old puppy in the car with us, but said "OK." I had spoken with James Igawa earlier in the day to make sure they had Fit models in stock. He was still there @ 6 pm when we arrived, he was busy when we got there, but came out and told us he'd be with us in a couple of minutes & to feel free to look around the showroom. The receptionist saw my wife outside walking our dag and told me we could bring her in if we wanted to. James was back in just a few minutes and showed us the new features on the 2010 Fit (we already have a 2007). He & I went for a quick drive to their storage lot & checked out the models they had there. On the way he asked how we were planning to pay for the car. I told him we were pre-qualified with our credit union. He asked if we would be interested in financing with Honda if they could give us a better rate. We were qualified for 4.75% with the credit union & he said Honda might be able to give us as low as .9% if our credit scores were good (I knew that they were). The next thing I knew we were back @ the dealership and talking money and what color car & accessories I wanted. There was now pressure and it was a very smooth process. Mahalo to Honda Windward and their staff & salesmen they are a good people & a good place to buy a car!Great experience

No tricks, no gimmicks; everything went as advertised. They gave me… way more than expected for my trade and a good price on my Crosstour. He listened to what we wanted and found just the car for us. The buying process was… easy, fast and resulted in a very good price. Bob is very courteous and was there every step of the way. Bob listened to the things that were important to me, showed me the inventory list and immediately crossed off the cars that didn't… match what I needed, then made a suggestion for what he thought would work for me. We test-drove it and Bob explained all about its features. No pressure. I asked for comparisons with a couple of the used cars and he gave me all the information. He suggested options that would be good for my family. Finally, he gave me a good and fair price. I was very happy with the car and the experience of working with him at Honda Windward was very pleasant.James Igawa provided excellent service!

We did a bunch of research on the internet, comparing inventory between dealerships, but when we got to the lot, James was extremely helpful. He's not pushy, local boy,… easy to talk with. She was warmly greeted at the showroom by Rene and treated with respect throughout the buying process. Once she was sure of the car she wanted… and we began to negotiate a price, she and I experienced nothing but honesty and fair dealing from Rene and the rest of the Honda Windward staff. I knew which model I wanted and was not financing but paying cash. My last purchase on the… mainland took about an hour since I had finalized all the details by internet prior to going to the dealership so it was just a matter of signing papers and picking up the keys. My visit to Honda Windward took 3 hours-guess we are on "Hawaii time."Great all around sales experience!!

by sayoko on 08/20/2010They go above and beyond the call of duty to provide fantastic service, including staying late for me when I had to work late but needed my van the next morning for childcare pickup. I also called when I had transmission problems on the… Pali Highway and I was panicked because I needed to get to school to pick up my daughter. Instead of saying I should wait two hours for AAA, they told me to just come on in for service right away driving slowly with hazard lights on then they took me over to my daughter's school.2010 Honda FitSport

I'm over 50 years old and have bought a lot of cars over the decades, and this was the best experience I can think of. (By the way, I bought another car… from them about four years ago.) This time, Bob Laudick was the salesman and he was terrific. Their service department is really good too. Honda Windward gets two thumbs up from me.No hassle sales - awesome product

by gloui on 05/07/2010Working downtown, we previously dealt with consistently incompetent service managers and mechanics at Pflueger Honda. Finally, we decided to take the drive to try out Windward Honda for a transmission repair and were amazed at their… knowledge and professionalism. Dalton and the team took the time to test drive our vehicle a number of times and mount sensors to accurately analyze a transmission issue that we had Pfleuger Honda try to examine three times with no success. They even worked closely with the Honda Extended Warranty agents to ensure the entire transmission replacement was covered under warranty! During my repair, they arranged for my loaner vehicle and even had it delivered to the dealership for my convenience. At the end of it, they also sent us out with a complimentary full service car wash from their auto spa partner, who also did a fantastic job. I will be driving to Kaneohe for all my auto service needs from now on. Honda Windward service is worth the extra effort for the friendly, knowledgeable team and great work.Best Salesperson Ever - Gary Brandt!

We were pretty apprehensive about buying a new car from a dealership because usually with buying a new car comes a lot of hassle, stress, and BS. I am… pleased to say that that was not the case at Honda Windward. They were great! I originally went to look at Odysseys by myself when my husband was at work just to see what they had and what we were looking at price wise. That's when I met Curtis Kuge. I told him I wouldn't be buying anything that day, but would come back when my husband could come and when we were ready. He was just as helpful that first day (even though I clearly wasn't ready to purchase anything) as the day months later when we decided to make our big purchase...which of course is why we went back to see him :0). I love my Oddyssey and would recommend Honda Windward to anyone looking for a good car and an easy purchase experience.
