Pros
- Peerless interior design and materials quality
- Massively powerful V12
- Seemingly infinite customization options
Cons
- At this size, tight parking lots are not the Phantom's friend
What's new
- No significant changes for 2020
- Part of the eighth Phantom generation introduced for 2018
Overview
The 2020 Rolls-Royce Phantom is one of the most opulent and expensive modes of transportation available today, with a base price that's more than double what some other large luxury sedans will cost you. And what do you get for your money? Exclusivity. Few vehicles on the road offer the same level of comfort, luxury features and customization as the Phantom. There's also a seemingly endless number of options offered on the Phantom, from custom colors for the paint or leather to personalized headrests and bespoke umbrellas.
Cost to DriveCost to drive estimates for the 2020 Rolls-Royce Phantom 4dr Sedan (6.7L 12cyl Turbo 8A) and comparison vehicles are based on 15,000 miles per year (with a mix of 55% city and 45% highway driving) and energy estimates of $3.79 per gallon for premium unleaded in Virginia.
Monthly estimates based on costs in Virginia
$313/mo for Phantom Base

Avg. Large Car
The Phantom's most direct competitor is the Bentley Flying Spur. It's spacious and comfortable and offers a similar level of customization. There's also the new Mercedes-Maybach S-Class, the BMW Alpina B7 and a couple other models from Rolls-Royce itself: the smaller Ghost sedan and the Cullinan SUV. Even compared to those models, the Phantom feels special. If you're looking for rolling extravagance, it doesn't get better than this.
Which Phantom does Edmunds recommend?
How much legroom do you need? Since features and options are identical on both Phantom variants, you can't really go wrong with either. That said, we suggest opting for the Driver Assistance Systems package if only for adaptive cruise control.

2019 Rolls-Royce Phantom 4dr Sedan (6.7L 12cyl Turbo 8A)
I have had a 2019 phantom since the beginning of April and the car has been in the shop at least 3 times because of vibrations coming from the wheels and tires. The last time it was in the shop for 3 weeks! Other than that I really like the car. I think that the customer service of rolls royce is not that great.
This car is amazing

2019 Rolls-Royce Phantom EWB 4dr Sedan (6.7L 12cyl Turbo 8A)
I have owned this car for a few months and I have loved every moment in it. It looks absolutely amazing and I love it so much. The performance is what you would expect from a 5,000 pound car.
We have a limited number of reviews for the 2020 Rolls-Royce Phantom, so we've included reviews for other years of the Phantom since its last redesign.
