by Rick on 07/31/2024The worst dealership experience I have ever experienced. The most dishonest people I have had the displeasure to ever meet. I signed the sales contract on an 8” tablet, that I couldn’t read, and finance assured me it was just the usual… financing, so I just signed. They gave me a copy of the contract in an envelope when they gave me the keys to my new Silverado. I apparently paid for Caltex coatings for interior, exterior and windshield. I emailed the finance manager and asked him when they would do the coatings; he replied it was done while I was signing the contract. All they did while I signed the contract was washing the truck. They could not have done the coatings as the factory plastic was still on the floor. After much hassle they agreed to do the coatings and I left my truck there for a couple days. When I returned to pickup truck I was so shocked, it was dirty with bugs still on windshield and obviously not coated once again. They refuse to refund the money I paid, over $2000.00 for something not provided. I wonder how many customers that are paying for coatings, do not know they are not getting what they paid for. Massive fraud is my guess with much money going into someone’s pockets. I will be filing a complaint with the Washington State Attorney General’s Office, when I get back from my trip. I also paid for theft protection, another scam they sell it but do not do the etching. Please be aware that if you do not pay for Onstar connectivity you will lose a number of features that you thought you owned., and they certainly do not tell you this when you purchase your vehicle.Awesome experience

Low Pressure Experience

I found out I could get a new truck from work at noon and I had an agreement with your company by 3pm. Very fast process after looking at… everything. They even took time with me after to teach me to use all the technology that the truck had. Charged for features we did not order
by Paul Loeb on 09/01/2023In November 2022 we ordered a Chevy Bolt from Haselwood. We went through the features on the GM form, worked out a price we could afford on our tight budget, and put down a deposit. We were willing to drive from Seattle because the price… seemed better. We picked the base model 1LT, plus a couple of safety features. Then in February, we decided we wanted leather seats, and their sales person said they could switch for $500 to $1,000. That was fine and we asked them to send the revised paper work. They didn’t. So we emailed them again. Still no response, but we assumed their word was good. As the car hit production, Haselwood notified us, and we asked what the final total would be. They said they’d let us know, but didn’t. We tried again, emailing and calling multiple times. No response. The day we were supposed to pick it up we got an estimate with a price several thousand dollars more than what we’d signed up for. Plus several thousand of taxes. We figured we’d work it out there, and spent two hours waiting in ferry lines and driving there. When we got there, they said that was because we’d requested leather front seats, they’d switched us to a more expensive 2LT configuration without consulting us. $30,065 vs $28,035. Plus the resulting increased taxes (Washington state was waiving the first 20K, since the car was delivered after August 1 it’s the first 16K). But they’d never told us even when we requested repeatedly. We’d never signed anything to switch the feature packages or even order the seats, although we tried to make that happen. When we were there your salesman said LT2 had additional valuable features, but mentioned only one that we wouldn’t have chosen to spend the extra money on. It was not what we’d agreed on, and we’d not signed off on it. A decent dealership would have acknowledged that this was their mistake and come up with some compromise. Instead their staffers stonewalled, complained that they don’t make money off the Bolt, and almost implied that it was our fault. They said that GM wouldn’t allow them to drop the price or make any adjustments, although you give $500 rebates to veterans (a good thing), so of course they can. They just chose not to. They then went into some BS rigmarole on how the 2LT would have more resale value, giving the example of the Nissan Leaf SL model. We’d actually asked you for a trade-in price for our Nissan Leaf SL, and they’d offered a ridiculously low price, so we sold it for more than twice that to a friend of our neighbor. In short, their staff dug in their heels, offered us nothing for their mistake except refunding our deposit and not buying the car. They kept talking about how great a deal we were getting until we were totally exhausted. We finally gave in, because we’d sunk so much time into this already, although in retrospect I wish we had just walked away and bought a Bolt elsewhere. None of this is to criticize the Bolt, which is a fantastic car--259 mile range, union made in the USA, tons of great features. But I would never recommend this dealershipPaul, I'm truly sorry to read about your experience. It's clear that we've fallen short in communication and meeting the expectations set during your purchase process. This is not reflective of our commitment to customer satisfaction and transparency. I like the fact that I was greeted as I waled in the door and all the personnel that I encountered were… friendly and professional. by Ed W on 05/27/2023This was a car I ordered last year with very specific options that were on constraint. The dealership took my order and went above and beyond in every step of the process: 1. Regularly calling me to update me on the status of my order 2.… Called me when my car arrived and setup a time for me to come in and car was immaculate and ready upon arrival 3. Got me in an out with the new purchase with financing quickly all the while letting me test drive my new car 4. Explained in great detail and answered all my questions on operation of my new car 5. Followed up several times with me to make sure I was completely satisfied with my purchase. 6. Made it easy to schedule for me to bring my car back for add on services I purchase at time of vehicle sale and made it easy to get a rental 7. And overall everyone was just so very helpful and customer service orientated. I work for a company that makes customer service software so I have a bit of background and know what makes for good service and Haselwood Chevy exemplifies an amazing customer service experience! Special call out to Adam the salesperson that handled the delivery, he is amazing, even went back to my house to pickup my trade in late at night! by Steve_English on 05/19/2018I was a victim of contract packing, which more than doubled the price of my used car. That they would do this to anyone is beyond contempt. I'm a senior citizen and this has caused me considerable financial harm. What is packing? From the… Washington State Attorney General website: "Packing or loading payments is a slang term used to describe a practice promoted by the credit insurance business and used by the auto industry to get customers to agree to purchase additional products, such as credit insurance, service contracts, chemical protectants, and security devices, without revealing their true impact on their monthly payments." "Packing is played out when a customer finances their vehicle through the dealer. It goes like this: a customer agrees to a purchase price and the dealer quotes a monthly payment approximately $20 to $40 higher than what is needed to cover the price of the vehicle. That creates a "pack" or room in the payment to add in the optional products. Dealership personnel are trained to suggest to customers during the negotiations that the optional products are included "free" or at reduced cost." "Because the monthly payment doesn't increase and because the customer believes the products are "free" or discounted, most people don't object when the products are included in the final contract." "Automobile dealers who use "packed" or "loaded" payment quotes try to conceal their actions, so you may not realize immediately that you are being misled." Our Attorney General has accurately described how Haselwood does business. I believed Haselwood viewed me as a valued customer. I was wrong. Instead, I was merely their next victim. If they'll do this to me, they'll do it to you. I strongly advise that you do not buy a car from Haselwood.Used Truck Purchase

The management team who I never saw did not want a trade and rather than say that they lied and said mine… car was worth $500. Then they lied and said their truck was worth $10,000 over the same book that my car was quoted at. Once I got home and checked I found out that they were indeed lying.
