I am a long time Ford truck owner. I have purchased 9 new Fords in my life, seven of which have been from Sheehy. This latest truck buying experience was exactly what I expect. The staff is not only courteous but they treat you like family. From the time I first contacted them about a new F-150 they were focused on making me happy with both the vehicle I selected and the service they provided. This purchase started with a simple search to find out more about a specific F-150. I did a lot of research on the 2013s to see what the options were and one of the sites I visited offered to evaluate my trade. I normally don't give info online but did for this and within a few hours I received an email from Tom R. A few hours later I got an email from the sales manager, Arthur L. My previous sales person was Cindy B., the sales person that sold me my last two vehicles. When I stopped by the store they immediately called Cindy who remembered me like I just bought a vehicle from her last week. Arthur was working next door when I bought my wife's edge but he still remembered us because we spent so much time at the Nissan dealership looking at their models. As we caught up there was no pressure at all to get in a vehicle but I was excited to check out the new truck. We headed out for a test drive and before we left the lot I knew I was going to buy the truck, the question is what was it going to cost me. When we got back I left, not making any comments about buying the truck. I did mention I might be back the next day. The next day I did go back and drove the truck again but again I left the dealership; this time with a price. I needed time to think about it. I got no pressure at all from Arthur, Cindy or Tom even though this was the end of the month and they needed to sell the truck. When I finally came back to buy the truck they were genuinely glad that I was happy with the decision and I do not believe their only motivation was selling a truck. They really do care about their customers. I read a lot of the negative reviews here and I am wondering how much effort did they put into the process? Did they show up and expect to get a car for free and walk out mad because they didn't get that? There will always be someone that isn't happy about the car deal they get. Lets face it: buying a car sucks. Any dealership can sell you a vehicle. Any dealership can service your vehicle. The difference for me is the people and the attitude they have towards customer service. When I am ready to buy again I will be headed back to Sheehy. For me there really isn't any other choice. If you are in the market for a Ford, Nissan or Subaru, stop by Sheehy and ask for Arthur or Cindy. Tell them Jim with the Raptor sent you and that I said they should take care of you. They will, but not because you tell them I sent you. They will because that's what they do. Good people are good people no matter what.

  • Refreshing Sales Experience - Richard P. & Thomas R.

After walking out of negotiations with a competitor due to bait/switch tactics and an insulting low ball trade appraisal, Richard P. reached to us as a lead. Apprehensive at first, this was one of our best purchasing experiences to date as there was no sales pressure. Richard took the time to ensure our requirements were met, researched available opens and dutifully negotiated the best price on a 2013 Ford Expedition Limited 4x4. Our experience with the team on the lot was just as professional. Tom R. worked diligently in securing the best price on our Honda Odyssey trade. End result was slapping the table with a great deal meeting our families needs! We look forward to many family road trips in the Expedition. Thanks Richard and Tom for making this deal happen.

I had intended on buying a Chevy..until I was told to test drive a Sheehy Ford. They made my Explorer fit into my desired price range. I was sold! Great, easygoing staff..from sales, floor manager, to finance. I'll be back again!

Here is my write up of my experience with Sheehy Ford in Springfield VA. I'm only doing this so that it is documented, in case others have similar experiences. From other reviews I've read about Sheehy Springfield after I bought my car, I'm guessing that there are a number of complaints against them. Just to give you some background too. I've been doing my best to buy American and do my part to help the economy. I am very happy with the Ford Focus 2012. It is a great product and was well worth the wait as I watched it over the last couple of years. This however is my experience with Ford Sheehy: I do take responsibility for being taken by these [violative content deleted], but it still doesn't make it right. I bought a 2012 Ford Focus and in order to reserve it before it came in they told me I had to sign all of the loan papers. Other dealers allow you to put down a $500 reservation deposit, but this dealer didn't allow it. So, I went in to sign all of the papers and I signed everything up until the final loan document and odometer reading document. The loan document wasn't showing the OTD (Out The Door) price that we had agreed on and I couldn't see the odometer, so I didn't sign those. It was closing time and they told me it was already reserved, so we'd resolve it the following day. The next day (Monday) I was told that the car arrived and if I didn't get in right away, they would sell it to someone in the service department that wanted it. I came in and they couldn't find the car, but said I had to sign the corrected OTD loan document and the odometer document at 4 miles or they would sell it to the service guy. I stupidly signed it, because I wanted the car and trusted that 4 miles was what I'd find on the brand new car right off the delivery truck. When I came in the next day to pick it up (Tuesday at 6pm), they couldn't find the car and said it must be locked up in the service department. Again on Wednesday at 7pm, the same thing. They couldn't find it and thought it was locked in the service center. And on Thursday at 7pm, the same thing. Each time they new I was coming to pick it up. Friday, I arrived there at 4pm and they had it, but it had 102 miles on it and it was scuffed up a bit on the inside. The explanation was that Ford was test driving them for 100 miles and the explanation for the 14.9 mpg reading is that the car was left running for a very long time at the Ford plant. The sales manager (Dean) refused to come outside and look at the car with me even though it was parked 20 feet from his chair. He was too busy having a personal conversation with another sales associate. His sales people were fairly nice about it and they did come out for further inspection of the car. After 20-30 minutes of discussion, I finally decided to accept the car as is and although I really enjoy the car, I have some regrets for not walking away from it. I don't know what damage was done in those 102 miles. If it had 14.9 mpg for 102 miles, I think someone had some fun driving this car. The following week when going through the glove box, I discovered that the Virginia state inspection sticker, signed by a Sheehy Service person said the odometer read 5 miles. I also found a post on a forum from 2008 where someone had a very similar experience. Again, I think an investigation is needed.

  • Good deal on Subaru

If interested in a Subaru, ask for Adam Wynn - he took good care of us in what we felt was a no pressure and honest deal on a fine car.

This dealership needs a lot of help. They processed the paperwork for a different car than what I took home that night, and had me come back to pay a huge difference. The finance department put the wrong amount on the balance to the bank (I didn't use their financing) so I had to come up with $1500 a few months after. I wasn't aware of this difference until I received threatening emails and phone calls that I would be sent to collections. I wrote an email to Vince Sheehy informing him of some of these large problems and he never responded. I sure hope I don't have any issues with the car I purchased. What a mistake. Don't buy from them.

  • Undermining sales personnel

I dealt with a guy there when I visited and it was great. I then dealt with his boss over the phone and it was terrible. I asked for info he took forever on the phone and couldn't answer it. Not even the color i had to ask 3 times then i asked for pictures of the vehicle he sent me 1 and it was less then a square inch. You couldn't tell anything about the vehicle in the picture. As to say he was no help, clearly lazy and didn't want my business. I hope people read this and have a second thought about visiting this dealership.

These guys are awesome. Ask for Antony or Arthur, and you will get A+ service. I shopped around, A LOT, and these two answered the questions I had nearly as soon as I asked them via email and phone text messages. They did not pressure me at all, and they simply stated that they would not be satisfied unless I was completely satisfied. I went into the dealership on 16-Jan-12 with a huge negative equity built up with a foreign trade in, and these guys gave me more than the car was worth. They found me the exact truck I wanted (It was a candy red F-150, FX4 with ALL the bells and whistles). And the deal that I ended up getting to drive away in this truck was unbelievable. My cheeks were sore from smiling so much. Oh and Arthur pulled money out of his own pocket to buy me and my son dinner (Before I even decided to buy the truck) because he overheard my son say he was hungry. Since I have bought the truck, these guys have emailed me several times to ensure that I was still happy with the truck. I went in a couple of weeks later to have a Line-X bed liner installed, and they filled my gas tank (Happily) before releasing it back to me, the truck had less than a ¼ tank at that time. I have read some poor ratings about this dealership on this forum and I don’t get it. Maybe Sheehy Ford is under new management, because in 40+ years of buying new automobiles, I have never had an experience shopping for a truck like the one I have experienced with this team. If I could have given them 6 stars I would have.

All of the people here were consummate professionals from our salesman Bouquet W. to our finance guy Ben. Bouquet made sure that the vehicle we were looking at met our needs and when we took a liking to the used Escape over the new one he jumped into action to show us everything and made sure we got what we wanted. The finance guy Ben was great in explaining everything to us and going out of his way to ensure that the deal we got was the best one. I look forward to doing all of my car buying business with this dealership as well as our salesman Bouquet W.
    • Thank you for your positive feedback! We are so glad that you had an outstanding experience with Sheehy Ford.
