  • Dishonest and Warranty Scam

    My wife and I purchased a car at the beginning of November, and although we had no issues with sales, the finance department has been awful. We were pressured into an extended warranty, and with our doubts, confirmed that there was a cancellation period (60 days) and were assured it was an easy process. Two days after purchase, and further reading the requirements needed for a warranty claim to be honored, we decided to cancel. We called the dealership multiple times and left messages with the finance department. The next day, we spoke to the receptionist who acted surprised that there had been no answer, as she stated the other day was not busy at all - we then asked to leave a message for the finance manager. With no further response, my wife proceeded to drive across town 5 days after the car purchase to talk to someone in person. When she arrived, one of the two finance folks were in the office, and because the present financial person did not help us with the sale, we'd have to wait. Ryan Crowder was left a message from his associate, and we heard no call back. We repeatedly called the following week with no response. Finally on the second week, we received an email back from Ryan about our desire to cancel. We filled out the required paperwork and odometer reading proof same day, and asked for an estimate on cancellation timing. Six to eight weeks to cancel a warranty, after we had signed out an intent to cancel nearly right after purchase. The contracts are airtight and state that cancellation can be completed for a full refund within 60 days, but the finance department is intentionally delaying the process. This is BEYOND ridiculous and fraudulent business practice. We have reported this case to the Texas DMV and intend to raise further concerns to the DeMontrond CCO and general managers. Update: we spoke with a general manager today to escalate this, and they gave us the run around that it could take 90 DAYS on their end to have the warranty cancelled. Talk about moving the goalposts and lying to sell any car.

    Erick was very helpful, I had been without a car for a month and never heard of DemonTrond but I saw a car online I wanted to look at here and he answered every question and was helpful and attentive. This was my first time getting a car with just me and my husband and everything went smoothly, I loved the car and I was able to get everything I needed within a reasonable price too. Still love the car now!

    Buyers beware I drove an hour to come and get an oil change because they had a good special online when I got there nobody came out and greet me. I walked in the service department. There was a female sitting behind the desk with her phone and she was texting, she looked up and said how could I help you and I told her to get an oil changed and she told me that they were book I arrive at 8:16 AM they open at 7:30 AM. She refused to give me service and there was only two customers waiting to get oil change , this is what happens whenever the owner doesn’t work there anymore Melissa Demontrond if she was there this wouldn’t happen. I am very disappointed at this dealership.

    We stopped in yesterday and we’re met outside by Justin who was ready to help us with whatever we needed. He looked at every option available to meet our needs and spent more than an hour walking through the lot with us, looking at vehicles, reviewing features and letting us test drive a couple of models before we had to leave. We made an appointment to come back today and wrap up our search and he called us this morning - giving a little personal touch that made us feel truly valued. We test drove a couple more vehicles today and finally fell in love with the Palisade. Then we met Brad who connected with us on our kids and a family friend who is a coworker of mine. We felt like and were treated like friends. Finally we met Miron in finance who educated us on warranty plans and although I was certain he was wasting his time at first, he truly showed us the benefit and worked within our budget to help make sure we are covered under warranty for most things. I have not felt so good about a vehicle purchase maybe ever! I don’t think I’ll ever shop anywhere else.

    Tony got me a hybrid car in less than a week, which is unheard of! My car broke down and I needed a new car ASAP. I wanted a hybrid to help with gas and the environment and he found a beautiful new Tuscon. Tony made a usually stressful process, simple and easy. I was in and out of the dealer and on the road in no time. It was such a huge relief!

    I first started my car buying experience by going to a different dealership at the recommendation of my work and it was an awful experience they kept trying to switch numbers around and charge way too much and basically bully me into buying a vehicle from them. I came down to demontrond after I test drove a hyundai at the other dealership and thought I'd give it a shot. Mark met me right at the door asked me exactly what I was looking for and around what price. He told me exactly when something was out of my price range and found me the best deal and everyone worked super hard to get me exactly what I needed I've never had a car buying experience go as well as it did here. Everyone was laid back and didnt harass you into spending more. 1000 % recommend getting a car from these people!! Thank you Mark Booth for all the help!!

    Working with Tony Victoria was an absolute pleasure! Tony is exceptionally patient; I never felt pressured to make a decision, and most importantly, a professional - who knows the car business inside and out. The buying process of my new 2022 Palisade took about 4-months. The best part was that Tony stayed in touch with me the entire time, making the buying experience even more enjoyable.     I had an awesome experience working with Tony Victoria on the sales team. Tony kept me informed of the status of the Genesis GV80 that I was waiting for delivery. The vehicle delivery date was pushed out several times, and Tony would contact me, to advise me of the new status/delivery date. After several months of no delivery, I decided to wait a couple of months and see if the supply chain issues, chip shortages and lack of drivers improves. I will reach out to Tony again, when things settle a bit. I appreciated of the attention to details and the communication I received working with Tony

    Called around and found out most dealerships in the Houston area are adding fees they don’t tell you about unless you ask first or find out in the end. Demontrond does not. Justin was helpful and courteous and understand and helped us get into the car we wanted and the one we could afford. If you are looking for something and hate the BS, go see these guys. They will treat you very good

    The management and sales team were a breath of fresh air from the other Hyundai dealerships we visited from Baytown, Houston and Clear Lake. All the others, Clear Lake (Big Star) especially, ran the "bait and switch" with the best of them. Quentin Colelli was our salesman at DeMontrond and he was very professional, helpful, knowledgable and attentive. From the beginning he was upfront with complete pricing structure on the vehicle we were interested in, which was thousands less than the other dealerships visited. This is a dealership, from sales all the way up to management, that takes care of the customer whether or not they purchase a vehicle or just want to see and test the latest models. If you're in the market for a new Hyundai, DeMontrond is the dealership you should use to make that purchase!
