Best Car buying Experience
by apchouston on 10/16/2012updated 05/25/2025They made my car buying experience easy and hassle free. No running back and forth to the manager. I would have given them 5 stars but when I received the customer survey, i found out they didn't do several things to set up Bluelink for me… and pair my iphone with the car. Minor issues but I still had to spend time reading through the car manual to figure out how to set it up. Other than that service was very good.Easy Purchase from Great People
by GunZB49_67538 on 03/27/2014updated 05/25/2025I purchased my new Elantra from the Internet sales person Dave H. He gave me a great deal and got me a higher trade in value for my old truck. I would recommend this dealership because Dave made sure he went thru all the features of the car… and the my sales documents. I never felt pressured and he allowed me to take my time going thru all the questions and papers to make the purchase. The finance people were also very helpful in the sales process. Thank you Dave!Be Careful!
by martic on 08/12/2012updated 05/25/2025We did not have a good experience at this dealership. Please note that the prices advertised on their website are ONLY available IF you go with Hyundai financing, and if you do, you get a $1,000 rebate. The Hyundai financing is a terrible… agreement (high % with balloon payment), so you'll have to transfer the loan soon after (a hassle). Furthermore, their fees are HIGH. Others have noted this. They will throw in a $299 consumer advertising fee (that other dealerships in town do NOT charge); a $51.70 inventory fee (again, not charged by other dealerships in town); and a $200 document fee (that is fairly standard, but usually the only fee you see). They do not explain this upfront. You will find out in the financing office. You may not be able to negotiate out of these. Furthermore, in our case, they added a $1,495 extended warranty without discussing it with us, and we did not see it until we were in the financing office. When we cancelled several days later, they "lost" our cancellation. They will also pester you about getting a "10" on the follow-up survey, including using pretty heavy guilt ploys. They do not, however, actually give a 10 in service. Please be wary of this dealership: 1) Avoid financing with them unless absolutely necessary; 2) be sure to read everything; 3) be sure to discuss FEES and EXTENDED WARRANTIES upfront. Compare apples to apples! You may get as good as or a better deal somewhere else when you account for the fees and the hassle of transferring the loan!Easiest / Best Car Buying Experience
by IHopeYouDance2 on 01/25/2014updated 05/25/2025I was in the market for a 2013 Hyundai Elantra and was shopping between NFH and 2 other dealerships. My salesman Dave H.'s, offer and salesmanship beat the other two dealerships hands down and I drove away in my new car very happy and in a… short period of time. My experience with NFH was truly the easiest / best car buying experience I've had since I left small town PA car buying 30+ years ago. Thank you NFH!!!!Pleasant Experience
by mfarris on 04/02/2011updated 05/25/2025The salesman that we dealt with was up front and a straight shooter. No "bait & switch" or any other tactic was used or attempted. Met the Edmund's TMV price without being asked to do so. Nothing "hidden" at signing time, and they even… filled the car up with gas (Toyota didn't do this last year when we purchased a new vehicle from them). Definitely recommend.Expects Customer to Pay MSRP - Best to Avoid
by tomtom79 on 08/28/2011updated 05/25/2025Every Hyndai dealer is telling customers that their cars are in limited supply due to high demand. I believe these dealers have changed tactics by keeping low inventory due to lack of customers so it gives the impression that the cars are… hot commodity. Unwilling to budge from sticker price. Internet Salesman did not send me price via email until I asked for the 3rd time. Once arrived he seemed busy on the computer and did not greet us although we were standing at his desk. took a look at the car and test drove it. Was fine. Seemed like a nice guy but did not seem to care if he made the sale or not. The rest of the salesmen and whoever else worked there were either sitting around on the curb outside or around the front door. Not many customers/buyers in there but somehow they expected they would be selling the cars soon and at full MSRP. Every Hyndai dealership i've engaged (4 so far) have all been a joke. Hyndai may be moving up the ladder in quality but thier dealerships are giving them a bad name. Fortunatly there are pleanty of other makes/models/dealers out there.Straight Shooters
by ssrfanatic on 01/11/2012updated 05/25/2025I was in the market for a Hyundai Elantra Limited and the guys at North Freeway Hyundai in Houston gave me a no hassle quote over the phone and were able to match and beat the best price I got from other dealears. I haven't purchased my car… yest but when I do, I will definitely go to North Freeway to deal.Dishonest, possibly fradulent
by cblunt on 12/15/2011updated 05/25/2025My husband and I negotiated the price on a 2012 Sonata based on an estimate of Tax Title and License (2000) with Carlos. When the actual price of TTL came in to be 1400, they factored in the difference (600) into the base price of the car.… Of course due to time constraints and distractions, my husband didn't notice when he signed the paperwork but 10 minutes after the deal was complete and we drove off the lot, We figured out their math and called them on it. I returned to the dealer (several days later) and spoke to a manager, Chris Thomas, and the manager accused me of trying to renegotiate the cost of the vehicle! I showed him on paper the math of what we had agreed upon and he went to go find the paperwork we wrote on during the discussions... It took him 10 minutes to come tell me he didn't find it. I'll bet money that he destroyed it because it supported my description of events. He told me that his sales person had informed me of several things, not relating to this review that were never mentioned to us. Even though Chris was not in the room during the negotiations, he continued to tell me, matter of factly, that his sales person informed me of the conditions of the "e-price." Later, I confirmed with my husband that this was NEVER mentioned. I could see at this point that Chris was getting a little "hot-headed" and that he was not even interested in why as a customer I was so disappointed with this "slight of the hand" sales tactic. It seemed like what I consider to be a misrepresentation of State Sales Tax was a common place sales technique to make a several hundred dollars on the unsuspecting consumer who doesn't notice the numbers in the contract were not what was agreed upon prior to signature. With that said, I love my car (so far... I have had it for 1 week), but I would seriously suggest people to reconsider visiting North Freeway Hyundai, even for test drives. By the way, Carlos said they do Costco pricing and I later found out they don't. I suggest not supporting North Freeway Hyundai due to their dishonest business practices.Low Prices and Nice Staff!
by ashleyc4 on 01/11/2012updated 05/25/2025While looking for a deal on a Hyundai Accent, I contacted North Freeway Hyundai for information. I spoke with Ray Funk who was very helpful in my search. He made sure to contact me very quickly and was very nice over the phone. Though the… specific car I wanted wasn't in stock (it was still being shipped to the dealership), the sales manager was a lot nicer than at some of the other dealerships I spoke to. Due to time constraints, I had to buy from a different dealership that was closer to where I live, but I got a great deal only because they were willing to match North Freeway's price. From the dealers I looked up, North Freeway offered the best deals and lowest prices. The 5th star is missing just because I was called a few times after I had already said I wouldn't be buying from their dealership. They were just trying to follow-up and be helpful by letting me know the status of the car I wanted that was being shipped, but a little more communication between the departments could prevent potential buyers from being contacted by 3 different people. Overall, great dealership and nice staff!Great experience and friendly team
by briangordon on 01/11/2012updated 05/25/2025I looked at 2 cars at NFH and they were extremely friendly. They also helped me look at every car I wanted to see. I unfortunately decided to hold off on buying a new car for a while but I would have purchased a hyundai from them. I… strongly recommend this dealershipunethical, deceptive and incredibly unprofessional
by markk4 on 10/31/2011updated 05/25/2025Overall rating is zero stars but form required at least one. Didn't read all reviews but references to unethical and deceptive are absolutely true. Chris Thomas, now the GSM, stated to me in writing that North Freeway Hyundai (NFH) will not… provide an internet (email) quote and potential buyers must come into dealership. All claims or links to internet quotes on Edmunds.com or any other site are simply not true. NFH makes a huge deal of their A+ BBB rating and that of their "sister" dealership in Humble (same ownership) while referencing many other Hyundai dealers in Houston with F- ratings. Even this Edmunds.com site references NFH as a Premier Dealer. Both are an absolute farce and destroy any and all credibility in these types of ratings. Incredibly, even other dealers - unsolicted, mind you - stated NFH is [violative content deleted]. If you know what's good for you - stay away from these guys at any cost, literally, and hope current ownership/management goes away. This is not sour grapes folks, they didn't cost me a penny, but I do a lot of research before/while buying a car and in all my years, in any industry, with any product/service, I have never experienced such poor, negative, deceptive, antagonizing and rude attitudes and actions and Chris Thomas is the General Sales Manager so, understand the source!Unprofessional Service
by deenguyen2007 on 06/10/2014updated 05/25/2025On Saturday, June 7, 2014, around 3pm., we come to North Freeway Hyundai for a test drive in Hyundai Sonata. We negotiated the price with the sales representative, Robert, but finally walked out. Sales manager, Mark F. called us “liars”… when he knew we were shopping around. We’re going to buy that Hyundai Sonata if he can treat his customers more professional, and not to call his customers “liars”. Be careful when shopping at this location! I finally purchased a Hyundai Sonata at another Hyundai dealership with a better offer.Mark F. - Top Notch Salesperson
by KJett on 03/07/2014updated 05/25/2025Mark by far is the best sales person I have ever dealt with. He went above and beyond to help me get my new vehicle home. Give him a call, you won't regret it.
