  • BAD exp with Nissan of MCkinney

1.3 out of 5 starsby zetlee on 02/03/2010

I would not recommend Nissan of Mckinney to anyone. The finance department guy Josh promised everything before selling the car but delivered nothing.Beware of him.My gf bought a used car from there for huge price. We paid the price thinking car won't have problem coz its a big dealership. But little did we know that the sensor of the car needed to be replaced within one and half months. They didn't fix the car as promised before rather we had to pay to get it fixed.I didnt have problem from my car bought from a small dealership for more than 3 yrs after i bought it.But I had a major problem from the car bought from Nissan of Mckinney within 1 and half months and they didn't even fix it as they were supposed to.So I DON'T RECOMMEND NISSAN OF MCKINNEY TO ANYONE , EVEN NOT TO MY ENEMIES!
  • Great experience with sales

It's interesting how people can have such differing opinions on the same dealership not to mention the same salesperson. I worked with Matt and DJ in the pre-owned sales and had a wonderful experience. Both of them helped me find the car I wanted and I was pretty picky about everything! They spent hours finding the right car for me, gave me a great deal on a car ( as researched on Edmunds.com) and gave me good value for my trade in. It was very late when we finished and after getting home I realized that the car didn't have the radio that I had wanted. I called Matt, he took it to his manager and it was taken care of , along with tinting my windows and a loaner car for the day. I have no complaints with this dealership and have actually purchased previously from them although this was by far my best experience. We have also purchased a new 2005 Sentra for my son and prior to that a pre-owned Pontiac Grand AM GT from the owners Pontiac dealership.
  • 'Old School' Sales

1.7 out of 5 starsby bjss on 12/27/2009

Typical Sales tactics that give Auto dealers a bad name. Quality of salespeople is poor (unprofessional, not very knowledgeable about products). Did not buy because of this.
  • Bad experience with customer service

I would not recommend working with Matt Starlett as your sales person. He is very pushy and will do whatever he can to get your sale and once the sale is final he will not return calls or emails. I can not get any help from him at all. It seems that you quickly become old news once the sales is final!! Not only have I had a bad experience with my sales guy but today I recieved a call from someone at the dealership and the voicemail he left said he was conducting an investigation so I immediately returned the call and the guy asked me if I was still driving the car and I said yes and he asked how the service department was treating me and I said fine and then he said "well when do you think you might want to trade in the vehicle"? I was stunned that someone would call and ask me this when I just purchased it 2 months ago. Is this how they get sales? Call people that own a car that is a few years old and ask them if they want to trade it in?
    • I just traded in and purchased a car from Matt and had a wonderful experience. I felt that he went out of his way to get me what I wanted and when I realized after the sale that the car didn't have the radio that I had wanted I notified Matt. He made sure that my needs were taken care of at every step of the process, even after the sale was final and was able to get my radio and windows done as an add on to the car. I also worked with DJ and between the two of them I was very happy with the service. Also, I got a good price on my trade in. Finance Dept was very helpful, I worked with Josh and he also gave me extras to my car.

  • WORSE SERVICE EVER BEWARE!!!

1.4 out of 5 starsby eusnida on 07/04/2009

This dealer has the worst service I have ever experienced. They cannot even wash a care correctly! I brought my car because of a noise problem in the right wheel. After a full day in the service shop all the told me was that the tires had a strong thread pattern and that's why it was noisy. I then brought my car to Firestone and after 5 mins was told that it was a bad wheel bearing. Back to the dealer I went telling them of the findings. This time they found the problem and fixed it but did not align the wheels, now the car pulls to the right. Hey I only had to wait 6 hours for them to fix the wheal bearing, now I have to go back and tell them about the alignment? Like I said these guys can't even wash the car right, can they even change oil? Oh I forgot, when I got the car back after they replaced the whell bearing, they forgot to remove the special nut socket from the wheel! BEWARE DO NOT TRUST THIS DEALER NEVER AGAIN, STAY AWAY!!!!!!
  • not what they advertise

I spent time looking for a used Nissan and found several listed online as being available within my price range at this dealership. So, I e-mailed them to make sure these vehicles were still available and to ask if they had any others in that price range. I was assured that they had SEVERAL for me to look at and I should come on in. I drove over an hour to get there, met with a sales manager for about half an hour only to be told that no vehicles on the list I had were still available and that really those internet prices were not realistic and it would cost me several thousand dollars more than I had been told. I said thank you very much and left. Just be aware that the e-mailed lists of available vehicles they send out are not accurate.
  • Pretty bad experience with two sales guys there

    1.3 out of 5 starsby qcqc_1998 on 04/04/2008

First was with a guy named Matt at their Internet sales department. He called me twice, and I called him twice gave him the details of the car I wanted. The guy never gave me a quote and never got back to me again. Then another guy called Eric called me offered a fair deal and scheduled an appointment with me. But he never sent me the quote over email. So when I got there, naturally Eric was not there. And I was told this guy Eric worked in used car department, not new car. Then they could not find the car I wanted. Since there is only one such car, so I had the VIN from internet and showed them. They came back told me there is no way they can offer me that price, blah, blah, blah. The whole experience was pretty bad, and I just felt there are a bunch dishonest sales guys there.

I spent probably about 40 hrs of comparing, pricing and researching. Nissan Mckinney was the most up front, most eager to make a deal and obviously cares highly about customer service! Very respectful and professional! I work odd hours and the sales rep, new car manager and director of finance all stayed well past midnight to help me get the car and deal i wanted! All of this service for an everyday person ( no big money or VIP) although I felt I was VIP at this dealership! Truly a unique experience!
  • Harassment and Lies

I have never been more harassed and turned off by a dealership than this one. I was simply interested in buying an used Nissan vehicle, but the customer service quickly turned me away. For being a Nissan dealership, I found it ironic that they only had ONE used car available for sale and purchasing a new vehicle at this location would have really make my wallet cry. I believe I collected at minimum 5 business cards within the 15 - 20 minutes I spent there, of which none of those 5 representatives followed up with a phone call after I left. However, I did receive 10 voicemails and who knows how many missed phone calls within the past 2 weeks all from a gentleman I never spoke in person named Jim A. Jim said he just wanted to 'touch base' with me and to call him back-- as each voicemail became more and more short, less friendly, and almost demanding that I call back now. So, I called this dealership back to remove my number and 20 minutes later, guess who called?! -- Oh Jim, you really shouldn't lie to customers saying "you are having a really hard time understanding me over the phone because there is a muffle or some static noise in the background" ... This was said of course after I had broke the news to him that I had already requested for them to stop calling me. I would have to say Jim that you failed on your customer service duties and left me speechless after that phone conversation. Besides Jim, I was extremely offended when I filled out a form to see if I would be financially approved due to the fact that the guy basically said straight up to my face that I can't afford the car I wanted and that I should really start looking at a cheaper car "at least half the price of the used vehicle I'm wanting now". Thank you for your brutal honesty, but you don't know me or what I can and can't afford. At that point, I wasn't even interested in submitting my application anymore to ugly ruthless people who would seriously say that to a customer. As far as your 'Top 10 reasons to purchase at Nissan of Mckinney', I would have to say numbers 1,3,4,6, and 10 are all lies; numbers 5,7,8 and 9 can be found at almost every high-end dealership so no need for explanation. It's disappointing that such beautiful vehicles are placed in the hands of sale representatives like Jim A. Best of luck.

Hello, I am personally displeased with the way things went in Nissan of mckinney. The Sales man above is only interested in Quick sales and even though I came into the shop with a list of cars he quickly discredited them and pushed me to buy a Buick Le sabre 2005 with 50k miles. The car had Just Got into the yard. he is very pushy and more interested in Sales only. This salesman ignored all emails and phone calls after the sale was made. Ge only communicated when he discovered that the car was not road worthy and could not pass state inspection. He had promised to send me list of repairs being done. As it were the car never even passed the state inspection and would not be sold to me. He told me that there just being honest and would have sold me a damaged car. I am convinced that if that car passed the state inspection it would have been sold to me anyhow without the repairs that had been agrred.Texas legislation does not allow for cars to be sold WITHOUT PASSING STATE TESTS. Thank God for the protection from getting a car that would have been very bad to me. Keep away from this guy. Arm twisting and looking at his commision above all else. I hear that the higher the sales margin the higher the commision. Thats why they can sell you a bad car. Try Jonathan clayton or other better salesmen. You cant sell a car that cant pass state inspection. its crazy and salesman must be very greedy
  • Lot of product, great sales person.

I've had Honda's for years and I bought a 2006 Nissan Altima, as a second car, it was nicer than my new Honda, there was almost silence when you drove it. The Honda was noisy. I went in to buy a used Nissan and bought a new one instead. My sales persons name was Peter S. He showed me some used Nissan's, then told me about a sale they were having on a new car, he showed it to me, it was beautiful. I went to lunch, came back and bought the car. The sales person spent the day with me, he was excellent and very knowledgeable. I'm old and he was kind to me. I bought the car and they gave me two gifts and a Nissan cup. I was a great day. It's the sweetest vehicle I've ever owned, and I've had some nice cars in my seventy six years.
