  • Terrible Experience

    I've only had this car for 3 months and have had a bad experience with the brakes and battery issues although I purchased it as a "certified pre-owned" car. The service department really needs to improve their customer service and stop trying to nickel and dime customers. I will not be bringing my car here for future service work or even purchase another BMW from this location.

    Great experience working with Sergio and Advantage BMW. He was very fast to respond, answered all of my questions, and track down exactly what I was looking for.   • Bad for Business

    After I initiated first contact to see the car, I was flooded with emails and texts messages and more text messages from automated systems. I took the bait and contacted them to see the car and test drive it. After several lies and conflicting stories about the car , I was told the car was sent to the auction and no longer available for sale. Of course, the car still listed on all platforms including the dealer web site after several days. THIS IS JUST A BAIT! This dealer choose to do business this way so please save your time.

    I had an appointment at 9AM. I showed up at 9AM. I was ushered to the waiting lounge and didn’t get to meet with my service rep until almost 9:30AM. I got a ride to work after that. At 4:30 after hearing nothing I asked to be picked up at work and brought back to the dealership. I was picked up finally at 5:40. Upon arriving at the dealership I was informed that my car wasn’t done and asked to wait in the lounge. I waited until 7:20PM😏. $1,700+ later. I initially came in for a routine oil change but was upsold AC compressor service, wheel alignment, brake fluid change, fuel system cleaning and was also charged a $50 miscellaneous “shop fee”. Someone also left trash on my passenger seat. I would not recommend Advantage BMW Midtown btareHouston to any friends.

  • Some improvements in service but still slow

    First let me just say their service building is quite nice, clean and efficient. But the reality is that I had previously stopped going to Advantage for my service a few years back because my car is almost 10 yrs old and even something as simple as an oil change ALWAYS turned into them needing 2-3 days to get my car serviced, and never with offer of a loaner. Plus even with a simple service, the car always needed at least $1000-2000 of other service or repairs (if not more). EVERY SINGLE TIME. But I had a complimentary inspection coupon and also needed a recall notice rectified, so set an appointment. After the multipoint inspection, putting new tires on the car, and fixing a recall item, it still took 3 full days. At the end of every day, I would send a text to get a status and they’d say “wont be ready till tomorrow morning”. Same thing at the end of the next day. When I finally was able to pick up the car on day 3…I got in the car and started driving home, and immediately noticed not one…not two…but THREE bright warning lights glaring on my dashboard, all related to the brake system (which was found in inspection to be fine). A vehicle settings note on the screen also said “Brake System - stop immediately and contact roadside assistance.” So I had to take the car back immediately. My irritation related to the fact that as the technician finished the initial work, drove the car from the service bay to the car wash, and then to a holding area before eventually returning the car to me at the shop…and NOBODY noticed 3 warning lights on my dash? That’s a huge QC issue. And after having to return the car for an issue like that, and waste more of my day, nobody said “hey sorry about that.” A simple apology would have been professional thing to do and would have gone a long way. So I am kind of over it. It’s as if they are so used to having to fix mistakes like that so they don’t think about the customer being shocked for lack of apology.

  • Sold me a lemon !!!!

    Advantage bmw used car sale are unethical!!! Sold me a defective bmw 340i. Constantly overheating with only 30k miles. No answers or resolve. I’m stuck with a 340i with 30k miles that overheats without any real sensible answers!!! Buy used somewhere else. Certified doesn’t mean certified at Advantage!!!!

As I mentioned yesterday, unfortunately, the concern of overheating is not showing to us while the car is here at the dealership, there are no leaks or signs of overheating. We would be happy to keep your car for a couple of days to see if we can duplicate your concern of overheating, we also understand if you would like to take it to a 3rd party for their opinion.
