Don't be fooled by dealerships...
by rbrun43 on 02/15/2012updated 09/05/2025I work near First Honda and thought it would be a good idea to take my car in for an oil change. Get a call from Caleb who of course says you have many other issues that need to be addressed asap. I asked him to do a simple oil change and… add new wipers. He called back with my car needed a new radiator and plugs as well as different flushes, etc. I asked him to go ahead and do the plugs and wipers and get me a price for a new radiator. I did my own research on line and found a new radiator for my car for $114. Get to the dealership and Caleb quotes me a price of $1374.00 to change out a radiator and wanted $424 for their radiator. I called another reputable auto repair shop and they wanted $310 for the whole job. I know this is the story you always hear from taking cars to dealerships but this one really took the cake and will never get my business. I will also make it a point to tell as many associates of mine about this experience. Really, really sad that Calab and his service managers take honest customers like myself to the cleaners day and day out. I sent him an email and of course never got a reply. I am sure he is used to this type of reviews and think nothing of it. Never go to First Honda if you want a simple or technical repair. I enjoyed the haggle free experience the most. The vehicles price was under and official booking listed I could find, and lower… than any other dealers comparable offering for the model. The facility was top of its class, especially the complementary coffee and snack bar. Another feature was the covered vechicle area. Beats standing out in the sun. Most of all, thank you Steve for your for patience with our young necie. Your employer is lucky to have such an employee that demonstrates such a level of seasoned customer service and respect. This gentelmen greeted us at the door when we arrived, was straight forward and prompt throughout the purchase, and there to send us off. The finace department was the same. So, if your in the market for a car, and dont want to deal with the "BS" that comes with process, I highly recommend First Texas Honda. The only things I would suggest to improve the system in place is, to provide a print out of what your 80 point inspection covers for used cars. Im sure you yall had it available, but I did not think to ask. I guess it was because I felt relaxed and comfortable with the purchase. Thanks again Yall!Lies

My wife and I have been shopping for an Accord and these guys were way below every other dealer in the area. Except when I called about an Accord I had received an email… about just a few minutes before, it had just been sold. They did have the same Accord exactly like the one I wanted but strangely it was over $1200 more. Nice try guys. I'll be taking my business elsewhere.Christian M. - sales adviser

by macyshaver on 12/14/2010updated 09/05/2025i recently got an insight from first texas honda. tyler was my sales guy and did a great job. the car was very aggressively priced and the no-haggle approach made the whole process take half the time i was expecting. i really like dealing… with people i trust. tyler is one of those people. if you are in the market for new or used honda, ask for tyler. everyone pays the same price at first texas honda, but tyler makes all the difference.Excellent experience

The entire experience was very positive; the negative reviews of this dealership are all from several years ago. They offered me the Edmunds True Value price on the new car… and gave me the Edmunds recommended price for my trade-in. Their salesmen do not work on commission and everyone went out of the way to be helpful. The experience could not have been more pleasant.They sell accidented car

They never mentioned any accident during the sell but the Autocheck report says "unibody dammage" from an old accident. I lost $5000 in the value of the car, but worst, I could… have killed myself in an accident. Do NOT do business with them.Awesome experience!

It didn't feel like a typical car dealership, it was inviting and the no… pressure feel was great. I feel that I need to point out that our salesman, John F., made a huge impact on the experience. He is by far the best car salesman that I've ever worked with. I work for RBFCU so I come into contact with salesman often and don't always enjoy it. He was easy to talk to and really helped with making the decision an easy one. I hope that next time we are looking for a new car that John will be able to help us again. The whole dealership felt like a family, with everyone helping each other. My husband actually is applying to work there after our experience. Thank you First Texas Honda!!TPMS Light On

I left went back a few days later to buy it and well, had a HORRIBLE experience. So I did some searching and found First… Texas Honda had the same car (minus $1000+ dealer installed options...) I got an online quote and it was THOUSANDS less than Howdy's Bottom line price. I called in and talked to Joy Morales in internet sales and she was SO NICE and helpful. She connected me to the salesman Chris Wanken who said he would have it ready for me when I got there. I arrived an hour later, took my new car for a short spin and went in bought it, easy breezy and very pleased :) I can't remember the girls name in Finance, but she really was helpful, UNLIKE the Howdy Honda peeps. Kristen helped me pick my options with ZERO pressure and 100% help. All were in stock and installed three days later, while I had a loaner car! Chris was very quick to get me out the door with all the paper signing, but taking the time to explain EVERYTHING, I was in the hurry, he wasn't and he wanted me to be sure I was clear on everything. I had a Zero pressure amazing purchase and I would TOTALLY recommend First Texas to anyone!Great Service!

Since I had no idea what I wanted, that was quite a few. It was raining, but she cheerfully pulled cars from the lot for me to see and… drive. I ended up buying a CRV. The only thing I did not like about the experience was the insultingly low offer for my trade. I did not take them up on their offer and kept the car instead. I liked the no hassle/no haggle pricing.Shopping for a new car !!!

However, my workplace has an employee pricing program and First Texas came back with the most competitive quote so I figured why not at least visit, take a test… drive, and see what they can do for me in terms of financing so glad I did! I'd already been to Round Rock Honda and Howdy Honda and had done my homework on the two vehicles I was considering (the 2014 Accord or 2014 Civic) but had yet to test drive the 2014 Accord. Jerome was the Product Specialist I met with and he was excellent to work with. Jerome pulled up the inventory and found the exact car I was looking for color and all and we took it for a test drive. Upon returning to the dealership Jerome and I worked with Jeanne on financing options and she and I went for a test drive in my 1999 Accord that I intended to trade in (neat to be in on the assessment process). First Texas gave me what I felt was a fair value for my trade in, a great price for the new 2014 Accord, and financing that fit my family's needs. I test drove the car on a Tuesday and ended up purchasing on Thursday, in between Jerome followed up (but wasn't pushy) to answer a few questions I had and he assisted me to put a deposit down once I decided to move forward with the purchase. When my husband and I went to First Texas to finalize the paperwork and get the new car everything was ready to go, the process was quick and easy, and they even topped off my gas tank upon leaving. Even after the sale Jerome has been in touch to answer a few questions I had after having driven the car a bit. Some people really like to haggle and negotiate when buying a car, I'm not one of those people and appreciated that the price was set (which was discounted by the way) when I walked in the door. Overall we felt that First Texas valued our time and had a wonderful experience.Chris D. is awesome!!

by 98_accord on 08/09/2013updated 09/05/2025I have been taking my 1998 Accord V6 to First Texas Honda for Servicing for most of the time I have had it (bought new from another dealer). I have always felt well treated, and I think that they have actually stepped up the quality of… their service in the last few years - they have added free loaner cars now, and this makes a HUGE difference in convenience for me. They also have Saturday hours now, and an express service lane for quick in and out stuff (like oil change, inspection (I think), etc. ) I have been working with Trudy as my service rep for a number of years, and she is great. No BS, gets stuff done right, really nice. I would highly recommend First Texas Honda Service dept.Take your Honda here!
