Unethical Business Practices
by Al Dye on 09/21/2024I want to express my sincere gratitude to Burleson Honda (Yes, Burleson Honda) for their exceptional service. They not only correctly diagnosed and repaired my vehicle but also did so in a professional and courteous manner. Their detailed… explanation of the necessary repairs was something Vandergriff repeatedly failed to do. Burleson Honda's competitive pricing was also far better than Vandergriff Honda's. I had a horrendous experience with Vandergriff Honda. They had my vehicle for over a month and couldn't correctly diagnose the issue. I also found their business practices unethical, as they manipulated documents to cover up their incompetence and rigged evidence for repairs. Vandergriff Honda employees provided conflicting statements at different times. The service advisor, Bryce Ramay, didn't take the initiative to call us for updates. We had to call him, but he was on vacation and "didn't have his notes" to help us. The service director, Ricardo Sandoval, seemed clueless about what was happening in the Service Department and contradicted Bryce Ramay. Ricardo Sandoval also stated that the "Honda Review and Approve" document is optional to provide to customers. The Fixed Operations Director, Drew Burk, lacked customer service skills. After filing complaints, Drew Burk called us and said, "You are no longer financially obligated with us. We refunded your money; go somewhere else." Also, Drew Burk only called us because he was singled out in an email to American Honda. Shaunee Snow, from the customer relations team, clearly lacks training and is not qualified to deal with customers. She failed to perform due diligence on the situation before contacting the customer. Her interaction added no value to the conversation or situation. I am a disabled veteran who served for over 20 years. I have never encountered an organization that demonstrates incompetence at every level. I find it hard to believe this dreadful experience with Vandergriff Honda. There must be a reason for the subpar behavior and performance of the Vandergriff Honda employees. After sending numerous emails and leaving voicemails, I finally spoke with the Managing Partner, Chris Snyder. During our first phone call, the call "dropped" seven times, only while we were talking, never while he was speaking. Chris Snyder admitted that his team had made mistakes and "fumbled the ball numerous times." He had the vehicle towed back to the dealership, promising to "make it right." However, he took no action to rectify the situation; instead, he contradicted his statements from our initial conversation. The culture of an organization starts from the top down. Dealing with Chris Snyder reinforced and clarified Vandergriff Honda employees' inadequate performance, unsatisfactory behavior, and unethical business practices. American Honda was of no help in this situation. They could not explain why our vehicle was not included in a recall. We've had six Hondas and always loyal to the Honda brand. Due to the numerous moves during my service, we have dealt with many Honda dealerships nationwide. Vandergriff Honda is by far the worst. This experience has considerably eroded our confidence in Honda. We are trading our Honda vehicle for a Toyota and will never purchase a Honda again. However, for those who do, I recommend going to Burleson Honda.Worst experience.
by Marcelito Olesco on 12/24/2020Worst experience in getting a new car. Never had a smooth transaction. This guy on sales even borrowed my phone and answered the survey about the experience I had with them without my knowledge just to manipulate the result.Run away fast & hard
by The Truthful Belle on 11/16/2019If I could rate the service I received at Vandergriff Honda any lower than one star I would. I decided to give myself a few days to see if it was even worth posting, but I still am just as upset and confused as I was on Monday. I took my… car in for service on Saturday at 10 am on 11/9/19, and Berlin was my service advisor. I needed to get an oil change and there were two recalls on my vehicle, one for the rear windshield paint and one for something with the battery connection/terminals. I figured the paint repair would take a while so I figured they might end up keeping my car to complete the repairs, and they did end up keeping my car. Monday morning arrived and I still had not received a call yet so I called Honda asked to speak to my service advisor. She was not available but she did tell the call taker that my car was ready for pickup. I arrived at Vandergriff Honda and Berlin advised me that the repairs had been made and she thinks that they were finished with my car just after they closed on Saturday. Still at this time I’m thinking my car was serviced and had two recalls repaired, so I was taken aback that my car was finished on Saturday and I was not informed until I CALLED on Monday morning. But all was fixed on my car(I thought), so I paid and waited for my car to pull up. When my car arrived I noticed it was just as dusty, and unvacuumed as it was when I dropped it off. I’d NEVER taken my car to a dealership and not had it washed and vacuumed, but that just was confirmation to me to never return to Vandergriff plus I needed to leave for work. I go to my job and had the thought to at least check on my “repaired” paint job. The Paint around the rear windshield looked just as chipped and peeling before. I jumped in my car headed back to Vandergriff asked to speak to a manager, and was assisted by Al. I expressed my outrage over how my car was kept all weekend for just an oil change and not any of the recall repairs I thought I was receiving, and how I was given back a dirty car. He was apologetic and had my car washed and vacuumed and wanted to have my paint repaired that day, but I had already given too much of my time & energy to Vandergriff, so I declined. At the end of the day I feel like I was simply forgotten about by an UNAPOLOGETIC service advisor and spent the weekend without a car that I am STILL paying on. This was the poorest service I have ever been given in my life by a dealership and I would not return to this location if they paid me.Great Sales
by Jevee41 on 03/29/2019I would like to first does that Damita Kyard had been GREAT! I can say she's was very attentive in providing me with a great sales experience. She was very informative about the vehicle and what to be expected from deciding which vehicle,… to financing and owning your next vehicle. I am referring my family, friends and cool workers to Vandergriff! Thank you again Damita!Looking for bigger Car
by CurtisL on 03/29/2019I was looking for a bigger vehicle because my Civic Coupe didn't fit mt my needs anymore. I met this bubbly personality sales person Damita Kynard and she was a great help in finding my Lacrosse. I will tell all of my friends and family to… go see her as she has earned my trust.Charles Bright was fantastic to work with!
by Don_Lawyer on 11/28/2018It was refreshing to have a salesperson truly listen to what we were looking for and he worked very hard to make it happen. I had been looking for months on my own and he found the perfect care for my college-age son. No high-pressure sales… pitch at all.buying experience
by cheng613 on 04/14/2018Brandon Iraheta was so courteous and helpful during my car buying experience. I had an excellent buying experience with him here!Great buying experience
by StevieD on 02/11/2018Special thanks to Charles Bright for a smooth buying experience with a certified pre-owned Honda. He had tremendous product knowledge and took the time to explain the features and warranty information. This is our second pre-owned purchase… from Vandergriff, and we would not hesitate to buy from them again.Outstanding Sales Person
by Rab1961 on 01/31/2018I decided to purchase a new car for my mom. After purchasing a car from Vandergriff some 30+ years ago I decided that I would go back to Vandergriff because I had a good experience before. Morgan Brown helped get me a great deal on a Honda… H-RV. I intend to go back when I need another car because of the helpful sales staff when going through the purchasing experience.Internet Sales?...
by lochlaer on 01/16/2018One of the things I've always dreaded about buying a new car is the experience of going into a dealership and spending several hours wheeling and dealing to get the car I want at a fair price. But we have tools at our disposal now that make… it possible to reduce the pain of buying a car. The last time I bought one, I did my research and found out what other people in my area were paying, then I e-mailed dealers asking for their best price. If they insisted that I call them or come to the lot, I scratched them off the list. But when I found the right car, from a dealer willing to quote a price by e-mail, we took it. We were in and out of there in less than an hour. Our experience this time around was very different. I got multiple e-mails from the salesman, Internet Manager, and General Manager, but my requests for a quote on the vehicle were simply ignored. It would have been nice if someone had at least been straight with me and said, "I can't quote you a price, because (reasons), but if you can give us your time, I believe we can work something out." Against my instincts, I decided to just walk in and see what they could do for us. After all, the car we wanted is not rare, but not really common either. And I was ready to get it done. Long story short, we bought the car. Everyone was very nice. And I believe they did give us a pretty reasonable price in the end. But we did spend over four hours in the dealership, start to finance. We love the car, and it was worth the time. And I would recommend Vandergriff, but with reservations. It's going to be a traditional car buying experience. I would say that they're going to have to figure out how to adapt to the way people shop for everything now. Otherwise, this would have been a four-star review.Hello lochlaer, Thank you for sharing your experience with us and Congratulations on the purchase of your new vehicle! We always like to hear our customers feedback and we do apologize that we did not handle your original request to your satisfaction. We appreciate your business and if you have any questions on your purchase or anything else please let us know. Thank you, Vandergriff Honda
Professional Sales Staff
by GMorris on 01/04/2018We have been going to Vandergriff Honda for a couple of years now and our sales guy, Fabian Martinez, is the one to ask for when shopping for a new car. He bent over backwards to make us happy and even stayed late into the evening to make… sure we got what we wanted. We were the last ones to leave and he stayed until the end. I would recommend Vandergriff to anyone looking for a new car. Just ask for Fabian Martinez and you will be getting the right guy to buy from.Honda 2017
by Kdixon5 on 08/31/2017Forrest Mendez was professional and helpful during the whole process.Extremely stressful and traumatising purchase experience.
by tzuk2016 on 07/10/2017Pre-owned certified car purchase experience. I recently purchased a pre-owned certified Honda vehicle from this dealership. I must say that my experience was not pleasant and extremely stressful as they switched the deal on me and… pressured me to get the financing through them instead of the pre-approved loan from my credit union. The lady who did the finance was abrupt and rude so was the sales manager Mike, I was so fed up exhausted, frustrated and hungry as The entire purchase process took more than 3 hours. They told me that my car will be ready the next day as they were going to detail it and touch up a scratch on the left passenger door. When I called to check at the end of next day my sales person told me that it's not ready as they have to change the windshield, so they had my car for two days when I picked it up it wasn't even cleaned properly nor they touched up the scratch. I had to make two more trips to get the car cleaned and have the big scratch repaired. These lot wasted so much of my time and showed no regard what so ever. My salesperson miss-sold me on certain features of the car which I really wanted, she lied to me about the car having remote trunk tail gate lift she told me that remote was faulty but they will fix it when I went to get the car that's when she told me that this car didn't have the feature I really wanted? I am extremely upset and in fact traumatised after my purchase experience at Vandergriff Honda. They made my car buying process absolutely horrendous and extremely stressful. They took away they excitement of buying a car. I got one of the senior managers involved, he turned out to be super unprofessional and just ignored my calls and emails. Stay away folks or just be very cautious dealing with these guys. Also: - Be prepared to spend 3+ hours to complete the purchase process once you decide on a vehicle. - If you decide to do the finance through them especially Honda, be aware that your credit will be hit twice or multiple times, It effected my credit rating massively, it has dropped 70 points, where the sales manager lied to me saying that the drop will only be 4 or 5 points. - Once you buy a used or pre-owned certified vehicle there's no cool off period, the car is yours after you sign the paperwork. My salesperson told me that there's a 3 day cool off period, not true.Certified Accord Purchase
by Millertyme4 on 06/09/2017Purchased a certified Accord from this dealership; the salesman we dealt with was exceptional and went way beyond our previous car purchasing experiences. This is our second purchase from Vandergriff Honda.Watch out for lowball trade in offer
by txrainmaker on 05/19/2017Bought 3 cars new from this dealership due to location and good service facility. However, they will lowball your trade in. I now take my car to Carmax to get a price quote before going to Vandergriff Honda. Their value of my '94 Acura… TL was $3500 - Carmax offered me $7500. After I showed the offer to Vandergriff, they met the Carmax offer, which told me that they knew the value of the trade-in. If they had continued to lowball, I would have purchased the new car without a trade-in and sold it instead to Carmax. Other than that, I like the dealership and I deal with them more on service than I do in buying cars.Awesome buying experience with GT!
by Chilcay on 05/17/2017Hi! I just want to give a rave review for GT! He recently helped my son buy his first Honda! A 2015 certified Civic! 1st- It's a great car, awesome gas mileage, and true to GT's word- very reasonable to insure! 2nd- I truly can not say… enough good about GT. He was a pleasure to work with, worked really hard to help my son secure financing as this was his first credit purchase. He knew just what to do to get my son in a car and on the right road to building his credit! He's not pushy like some salesmen are, just there to help you get the best deal for your circumstances. I feel great knowing my son is in one of the safest cars on the road today!!! He is genuine, kind, and has a super personality. What a joy buying this car was!!!! Thank you so much GT!!!! If anyone needs a car, please look GT up st Vandergriff Honda!!Amazing Service Department
