Jim Roden
by Marineluva on 02/17/2016My husband and I came in a week ago to trade in my 2000 Cadillac Escalade, upon arrival Jim greeted my husband and I at the door. He was very welcoming and very humble. He was up front and honest about the whole transaction from the get go.… He never was pushy during the process and answered every question my husband and I had. I would highly recommend him to anyone in the area. :)Thank you for writing about your visit with us, and congratulations on your vehicle! Jim is an asset to Power Kia, and it is encouraging to hear he impressed you by delivering our trademark service. Thank you for your recommendations! Worst Experience I Have Ever Had Purchasing a Vehicle
by tracicakes on 08/22/2015Purchased a certified-used 2011 Kia Rio a little less than 3 weeks ago. Spent hours at dealership while the salesman/finance person worked out "the best deal". I had a trade that didn't run very well, but still drove & had a straight body.… Was told that I couldn't get a decent interest rate on the car, because I "was in a higher risk category", due to having a mortgage and another car loan (though I have good credit, good income, and have had the same job for 20 years). I wasn't told what the interest rate was until I signed the paperwork--was only given the information about being in this 'high risk' category. I had taken a glance at the paper that the salesman/finance person scratch their notes on, and I thought it said 3.99% interest. The rate the dealership sent me away with was **13.99**, with a payment $100 more than what I was comfortable with. At no time in my life, even very young & with no credit have I paid that high an interest rate. The finance person told me this was no problem, and that I could refinance in 6 months at the interest rate I had on my current vehicle. He said the bank just needed to see that I could make my payments (which should have been evident by looking at my credit report). The sales person delivered the car to my home that evening, but said there was "a mistake on the paperwork", and took the entire envelope of papers given me by the finance guy. I had a car that I had signed for, but no paperwork on it at all. The next day, I delivered my trade-in, the title, and the service records for it. A day or 2 later, I received a notice in the mail from NW Community CU, stating they had a counter offer for me on the loan. I called them for the offer, and was told they would give me 5.39% interest, though not for the entire amount I was financing. I WAS NEVER TOLD I HAD COUNTER OFFERS--I thought I was stuck with the tremendously high rate. I called the finance department at Power, and spoke to a man by the name of David. David checked my file, and found that I had more than one counter offer, and they were at HALF THE INTEREST than what the paperwork originally said. I also mentioned that there was no information on my paperwork about my trade-in. The finance person had mentioned when I signed papers that they had the trade in storage, and may be able to wholesale it. There was never anything put in the paperwork about the trade. David told me that the dealership couldn't just take the vehicle and not give me anything for it. He said it was possible to work out a wholesale deal on it, but that it wouldn't be worth much (which I knew). David said he would look into the trade, and listened to my venting for some time, as I was (and AM) extremely steamed about this entire thing. He and said he would get to work right away on the deal. I got a call from David the next day, stating that he had negotiated with Wells Fargo, and had been able to get my interest rate down to half what I had originally been quoted, and my payment down about $80.00. Much better. He also said that a wholesale on the trade-in would be arranged, and the dealership would cut me a check. Well....At time of this review, the car is sitting in Power Kia's service department for the second time in less than 3 weeks, with another serious mechanical problem. The first time the car broke down was 8 hours after we signed the papers--in a fast food drive-thru. Car had to be pushed out of the drive-thru into the parking lot and left there, because after conking out, it wouldn't start again. Called dealership the next morning, and got the finance person I originally dealt with on the phone. I was told to have the car towed to the service department. Told him I would NOT be paying any tow fees, or any repair fees, to have the vehicle fixed. Power had the car towed themselves. This was a Saturday; car wasn't ready until Wednesday. We never learned what the problem was. Fast-forward exactly one week, to another almost 100-degree day in Salem. The air conditioning in the car went completely out, as did the heat and vents. None of it worked--no air blew out at all. I called Power Kia, and was told all the sales persons were in a meeting. I insisted that someone be found that could assist me. A male by the name of Shane came on the line, and I gave him the rundown on what was going on. He said it was a good thing that I was dealing with Power, because they stood by their products. I was told to bring the car in to the service department, and that a loaner car would be found to issue to us. I started the car up to bring it to Power, and about halfway to the dealership, the entire air/vent system turned on again. I decided to bring the car in anyway, given that it was obvious there was something wrong. Upon bringing the car in, I was told by the service department they didn't have any loaner cars available. Service called the Sales Department, and asked them to round up a loaner vehicle. I spoke to the male at the counter in the service department, told him what had happened, and that halfway to the dealership the system turned on. He told me it would be hard to diagnose, since "things were working now". He was reluctant to allow me to bring the car in, though I had mentioned that this was the SECOND TIME IN 2 WEEKS the car had been there for a major problem. The service person contacted someone elsewhere in the dealership by phone, and was talking about how to handle this situation. I heard him say something to the effect of, "if it's ok with her I'm going to just send her out with the car", as if it was his intention to send me away with the vehicle, despite the fact that it was having a serious issue. I told him before he'd even hung up the phone that it was definitely NOT ok with me to send me away with the car, because I wanted it looked at to make sure that whatever was wrong got fixed. The salesman took my keys, and moved the car into the service bay. When he came back into the office, he told me the vents were working great, and that it was "very cold" inside the car. I told him that it was great the vents were working NOW, because the previous couple of days it had been 100 degrees inside the car. After waiting for the better part of an hour, a loaner car was produced by the sales department. I made contact with the original finance person before leaving that day, and asked about the check for the trade-in I had brought to them 15 days prior. He said that there were a lot of steps to be taken before a check could be cut, and that I should call him if I hadn't received the check by the following Monday---which will mark 3 weeks exactly since initiating the deal in the first place. 3 weeks, and we don't have the car we bought, nor do we have the check for the car we traded in. I have made 6 (SIX) trips to the dealership now, in less than 3 weeks time, to what end? All in all, the only positive thing I have to say about this dealership/car-buying experience is that the sales/finance/service people are quite nice. That's it. The smoke and mirrors tactics that are used by the finance/sales people are incredibly inappropriate, and definitely not what I would consider professional.Thank you so much for taking the time to give us this feedback. We're so sorry to hear you had such a negative experience with our dealership. We would love to be able to speak with you regarding your car and make this right with you. Please contact us through 866-979-8765, reference your review, and ask for me directly. We would like to help resolve this matter with you personally. We look forward to speaking with you soon. Excellent customer service
by Atvlovee on 06/13/2015I just purchased a Kia Soul on 6-12-15. Ira Cohen helped me from the start. We talked in the phone on my budget and what was looking for. When I arrived on Fri evening. He guided me through the whole sale process. I never thought in a… million years I would be able to afford a brand new car. I knew my credit wasn't the best, but they impressed me with how I got into my Kia Soul with hardly no money down and fair credit. You guys are the best!Thank you for writing about your visit with us and congratulations on your new vehicle! I'm sure you are continuing to enjoy it and hope that we have earned your repeat business by working hard to get you the best price possible. Minnesota Buyer
by Pao_Her on 05/31/2015Let me start off this review with how great the customer service was! IT WAS BEYOND AMAZING! Dwayne Shaver was the internet salesman and I'm glad I had the chance to do business with him. The communication was fantastic. I bought the car I wanted and I am more then pleased with the service. I highly, highly recommend this dealership to everybody in the United States.Thank you for the wonderful review and for traveling to the dealership from quite a distance to do your business. Tips for Working with This Dealership
by carolynp1 on 05/04/2015I am only writing this review because I think I can pass along some wisdom to people who want to buy a Kia in the Salem area. There are 4 dealerships within an hour of Salem, including Power Kia. Power Kia consistently has the lowest… advertised prices on most of the Kia lineup. We did exhaustive research into the new car we wanted to purchase. In total, we went to the dealership three times and got passed along to a second salesman (no big, people cant be everywhere at the same time). We did all of our own research, so the salespeople didnt need to answer any questions and typically babbled along during the test drive about things we couldnt care less about. They did give us some information, and they were both nice and fairly professional. I would say in total we spent an hour with salespeople before we went in to buy the car. The dealership put the make and model of car we wanted up for sale with a great price. We went in to the lot and met the salesperson who got the keys and we made an offer on the car and went back to his office, which is a cubicle. While we were filling out the paperwork for the financing, the salesman we initially had came in, picked up the keys, and said I was wondering where these went, I just sold this car to someone else. We just sat there gaping. The second salesperson came back to his cubicle, and we told him what had happened. We expected him to say, Obviously, he cant sell the car Ive already sold to you. Or, wow, Im so embarrassed, I cant believe that happened. Were certainly going to make this right. What he actually said was, I hope you understand that I cant get you that sales price on another car. Then he attempted to get us a similar price (around $3k more) on the exact same car from another lot (which is amusing because when he showed us the paper he was using to find the exact same car he had the color for the first car wrong, so who knows what the car would have been). He came in with a piece of paper that said black on it (seriously, you cant make this stuff up) and felt it would be perfectly appropriate for us to sign up to buy a car without seeing it or knowing anything more about it than black. Im the one who has been pigheaded about getting a new car. Bless him, my husband wants me to have a new car because he worries about me breaking down in my old one and he wants me to have nice things. Thus, he was willing to go along with nearly any deal until I got him alone and explained to him that there is no way I was going to work with this crazy concept of buying a car we know nothing about from a guy who refused to keep his word in the beginning (and, by the way, my old car works just fine, thank you). We are pretty firm believers in using your cash to register your complaints. This dealer still has the lowest advertised prices, so the only reason I write this is to give people a couple of pieces of advice: have only one salesperson so they have a reason to fight for your commission; be sure you do your own research (these guys didnt know as much as I do about the car I wanted to buy); and be sure and read the things they give you to sign. Though we didnt get all the way to that part, youll not convince me a guy who asks you to make a $30k deal based on a piece of paper that says black is reading the stuff hes giving you to sign.We would like to take this time to apologize for your unhappy experience with our dealership. We appreciate you bringing your concerns to our attention, and we assure you that this is not how we intend to do business. Our goal is to attain 100% customer satisfaction, and it comes with great disappointment when we fall short of that with our guests. If you would be open to contacting me at your earliest convenience, I would sincerely appreciate the opportunity to further discuss your situation and the chance to make things right. Sincerely, Shane Matheny - Sales Manager - 866-979-8765

Happy customers Larry and Lora
by sisterlolo on 10/20/2014We have owned a Kia Sportage for several years and have had zero problems with it, none. It is a 2002 and my husband drives it from Salem to Portland several times a week. So I traded my Fiat for a new Soul. I love it so much. Its… perfect. So much room and handles so well. I got the base modal but it has tons of standard features. You get a lot for your money with this car. Our sales person was so helpful. Mike really listened to us and helped us make a good choice for us. He didn't pressure us or try to rush us into something. We really had an enjoyable experience. The lady that helped us with the financing was very nice and fun to visit with too. Sorry I can't remember her name. We even got $400.00 because my husband is a veteran. Thank you :) Very happy customers Larry and LoraCongratulations on your new purchase, Larry and Lora!
