    I went to the dealership needing an oil change and tire rotation and did not have an appointment. I was advised that they would be a wait time that seemed long after talking with one of the associates outside in the garage. I was advised to go inside inside and speak withZachary. Zachary made me feel like a valued customer. Zachary reassured me that I would be taken care of quickly, he was very professional, kept me up-to-date, and thanked me for his business. This is what professionalism should be in a dealership and he definitely is an asset to the company.

    I purchased a vehicle through a used car dealer and have had issues from the start. I brought the vehicle to that dealer several times in the past six months. Each time it was something different that needed to be changed. Brought to Subaru and they were able to diagnose the root of the problem in one day. Jennifer provided me with a detailed report of the inspection which I have forwarded to the dealer from which I purchased the vehicle. Now I am waiting to see if the original dealer will makes things right.

  • Can't trust the service dept.

    I took my newly purchased Outback in for service, i made the appointment 2 weeks ahead of arrival. I told them i would wait, after all it was just a basic service, Oil and filter, check fluids, and check something I hear when i go from Reverse to Park. and a touch screen issue. when I arrived they said I would have to leave the car that they could not get to it right away. after a half hour of talking about it they finally gave me a loner car. When i got the car back the NEXT Day there was no change in the touch screen issue but there was another issue on it, when I pointed it out to them they told me to see the SALESPERSON he knows the system better then the service people. very strange, the next day I went to use my windshield washer and it was out of fluid. that should heve been part of dthe check, also the expansion tank appeared to ne low this also should have been checked and filled. I have no confidence in the service dept here.

    I leased my 2nd car from Johnston’s Subaru. I greatly recommend this dealership as they are knowledgeable, pleasant to work with and provide a nice and breezy process to pickup the car, register it and do the finance.

    My 2016 Subaru Legacy needed a valve body replacement performed. Thankfully Johnstons Subaru was able to cover the part and all labor under the California Emisssions PZEV Warranty. The part was on back order with no release date offered so we were unsure when the car would be repaired. Johnstons Subaru provided a loaner car during this time. The service Department stayed on top of the part release date and they were able to get the car repaired within the week. Thank you for being our go to for everything and anything Subaru! Highly recommend Johnstons Subaru, especially John Cote, Maureen and Jenny. They were all a dream to work with.

    One of the service advisors, Maureen pointed out unusual wearing of tires and provided information to have them replaced under warrantee.

    Excellent service and staff. Very thorough and professional. I drive from Westchester County to Middletown NY to service my car. I won’t let anyone else work on my care. They treat you like family even during these rough times.

  • Poor Gas Mileage

    Only getting 15 miles per gallon. Was blamed on everything from cold weather, the ethanol in the gas, not driving enough miles each day. No one ever checked anything in the car to see if there was a problem.

    Patrick umphries was wonderful!! He made the process of buying my car a pleasure. The teamwork between Patrick and ray in finance was amazing.... johnstons subaru just made us part of their family, we will be buying all of our vehicles from them from now on!

    Johnston's Subaru has maintained a professional standard while being friendly and accommodating . It is always nice to trust the people who set up your service as well as those who actually do it. So far, since they have taken over the dealership, they have worked on improving the look and efficiency of the business. Most of all, they held on to the "old timers" who have made that place what it is today.

    I had one of the BEST buying experiences at Johnston’s Subaru. I even drove well over an hour to get there, knowing that they were the only pre-owned certified Subaru dealership in my area that actually had more than one vehicle I wanted to look at; all other dealerships had nothing for me. Brianna McLeod, in Business development, contacted me about my inquiry on a specific vehicle and she was about to get the ball rolling, so to speak. She was very professional and answered my questions perfect when I called her. She set me up with an appointment and I was on my way that weekend. My sales man, Adam Bobish was amazing! He was down to earth and acted like a human and not just a salesman trying to get me to buy. On those words, he was also incredible at his job and he knew the vehicle front to back and was able to show me everything inside and out before I even came to a conclusion: WITHOUT any pressure to sell me. I was really nervous since I was buying a new vehicle after so many years, but after a while, he really made me feel calm and relaxed. Karen Desmond, in finance, was very warm and welcoming and I felt very comfortable seeing my final numbers and she explained everything in detail. It was such a smooth transaction I was in complete shock of how fast it really went. They gave me a great trade-in value on my Jeep and the monthly payment was perfect. I also was hoping to be able to take my vehicle off the lot that day, being I was trading my Jeep in and I lived over an hour away. Dave Sobel, the Sales Manager, made this happen within seconds and I couldn’t have been more appreciative not to have to drive back up to get my vehicle, being I have small children. I even got to meet the Owner/President of Johnston’s Subaru, Steve Jardine and was able to thank him for everything that day and he was such a good-natured person, that I can see why his staff are so pleasant to deal with. It was just the best experience ever and this is my 4th vehicle purchase in my life, and none compare. I drove home a happy camper and almost a week later, I knew I made the best decision for not only me, but the safety of my family.

    I took my car to be serviced not sure what was wrong with it and Bryan was beyond helpful and extremely friendly. He made sure to keep me informed and updated on my car. I would highly recommend going to them for work done on the car. I will definitely be going back!!

    I had been to other Subaru dealerships and always left feeling anxious due to their pushy environments but Johnstons Subaru is nothing like that. Since this was my first new car, I had a lot of questions and concerns. They worked with me and answered all of my questions throughout the car buying process. The staff is really friendly and concerned with your experience. I read the reviews below and feel a little baffled because my experience was nothing short of exceptional. My salesman was Adam Bobish and he wasn't pushy at all and made me feel both comfortable and confident in choosing to do business with Johnstons Subaru. He was extremely competent and knew the ins and outs of the vehicle I wanted to buy. The sales manager, Christopher Lee, helped me finish my paperwork the day I picked up my car and he did a great job explaining everything to me. Additionally, the service department is absolutely terrific. The splash guards I ordered with my car were on back order when my car arrived and I had to come back to get them installed. I was treated very well from the service department. The man that installed the splash guards even took the time to show me them when he finished. Overall, I am very happy that I chose Johnstons Subaru over the other local Subaru dealerships.

    Everyone was polite and helpful. I felt no pressure to buy. Had an overall excellent experience. Everything was explained plainly yet thoroughly.

    Once again Johnston Subaru gives excellent service to me and my wife as we purchased our 3rd and 4th cars from them yesterday! Great job to our sales consultant Kris McNeely and the financial department Many thanks to all the friendly staff
