  • Extremely Happy

5 out of 5 starsby KatOrtiz on 10/14/2014

I went to City World Hyundai with some uncertainties of what I wanted and what I could afford. I spoke with Aldo Nunez and he guided me and informed me of everything I needed to know about purchasing a car. He made me feel knowledge and comfortable. In choosing a car I picked a Buick which fits my needs for my everyday living. Diana a very lovely person helped closed the deal. In the future if I wanted to purchase another car I will defiantly return to this location. I will recommend my family and friends to Aldo because he's the real deal.

  • Hyundai Sonata

1 out of 5 starsby chingar on 09/13/2014

I bought a Hyundai Sonata from this dealership and they allowed me to leave the lot with bad brakes a bad tire sensor and bad windshield wipers. I complained and I will be able to get it fixed at no expense to myself, but this car should have been checked for mechanical issues and it wasn't. I could have just bought a car off the street and it would have cost me a lot less money. I would only buy at this dealership if you bring your own mechanic.

  • Terrible customer service

    1 out of 5 starsby Wrath777 on 08/19/2014

Where do I even start? When I first bought my car here about a week ago on a Sunday Aug 10th, everything was fine and dandy of course, the sales person was nice, everyone was so incredibly nice to me (of course because they wanted to make a sale) trying to get to know me and telling me they were so excited to be doing business with me. When i bought the car (a white 2014 elentra coupe), i drove it off the lot with a few discrepancies only because I really needed to get back on the road, other wise i wouldn't of driven off with it. So the discrepancies were as followed: a tear in the leather of the steering wheel that i was told was going to get fixed, a black scratch on the front bumper, and the car was completely missing the floor mats. I was told that they were going to order the floor mats and that they would be in 3 days later on a Wednesday Aug 13th. I had had a crazy week so I called them up the following Sunday Aug 17th. I had spoke to my sales person who told me she had to call me back in a moment, and that she was going to check to see if the floor mats had came in. I waited a couple of hours for her to return my call, and nothing! I than decided to call back myself and inquire about the floor mats. I call to speak to my sales person and it turns out that she was out of the dealership and had clocked out for the day. At this point I was LIVID... and i decided to call the next day, I call and still didn't get any response at all. So Tuesday Aug 19 came along and I call to find out about the floor mats, I was ONCE again told to call back later, I decided to go to the dealership and deal with them in person. When i get there, i'm greeted by the receptionist and she calls her manager to find out about the floor mats, I'm asked what car i had and that's when i explained that i had a WHITE ELANTRA COUPE with GREY interior. They tell me the manager was on his way from the other dealership with the mats and that i would be good to go. When he gets there he pulls out these BLACK floor mats, that were for a completely different style of Hyundai. I was rushing to go to work so I took them because i had no other choice. How ever when the MANAGER came around to give me the mats, I pulled him to my car and told him to check out the steering wheel. When he looks at it he has the AUDACITY to say "the tear isn't that bad, how ever we wont be able to fix that, if you decide to fix it we would have to charge you because it would disable to airbag, and that's a safety hazard." You have absolutely got to be kidding me. This was the biggest SLAP in the face. And speaking of "safety hazard" They never told me this car didn't come with a spare tire which i had to find out the hard way 2 days after i bought the car. I dropped over $2000.00 down for this car, plus dealing with monthly payments and insurance my car cost me well over $500.00 a month. To some that might not be a lot, but to me it's all i can afford. I gave up a 2011 Toyota Camry to for this!? I was treated so much better at Toyota that they actually cared about their customers. The sad part about it is, when i walked on to the lot to buy, they were so nice, and i was already telling my family they should go to hyundai to buy their next car. But not after what I've experienced. I never been treated so poorly. I've tried to call my sales person, and i feel like they've tried to avoid me at all cost. None of the managers or supervisors know what they're talking about. After this commitment to this car, I am never working with these people again. In conclusion, When you buy a BRAND NEW CAR, you expect it to be flawless. Not a dent, not a scratch, not a tear, not even dust. So for them to tell me they cannot fix my car, and it doesn't even have miles on it yet. I'll give them the car back and wipe the slate clean if i could. its either that, or i get a discount on my monthly payment. I simply cannot afford my time to be wasted, and Im sure many of you reading this review don't like getting your time wasted either, so stay away from them at all cost.

  • Great Deal

    5 out of 5 starsby juanreyes30 on 08/19/2014

I bought a brand new Hyundai Santa Fe. I got a great deal from Abe R and the staff at City World. I would recommend buying from this dealership.

  • Abe was excellent

I left Lasorsa after they tried to trick me into putting more money than the original down payment of $1,000 that they had requested. I left and went straight to City World Hyundai and spoke with Abe he was excellent and I left with a brand new Hyundai Elantra.

  • Not a very professional dealership but had been taken good care of

    5 out of 5 starsby lazyrichi3 on 11/11/2010

I had read the reviews below and it was mostly negative reveiws but that did not stop me from believing in them. I had placed a deposit on a used vehicle of theirs that they had just received as a trade in. The vehicle took about 2 weeks to delivered because the title took a little long. Here is my story, When I had first stepped into the show room, I was being greeted by everyone in there. Everyone took care of me. It was the best service I had. I've been into plenty of dealerships and was surprised how they treated me. It felt like I had the word " ATM " written on my forehead. ( I do not look rich and I am only 20 ) When I showed up, the vehicle was not there and they had told me the vehicle will arrived shortly and arrange me to stay in the waiting room. Different people came into the room and had updated me how long the vehicle will take to arrive. When vehicle arrived, i went for two test drives before I had left them the deposit for the car. As I stated above, the title took about 2 weeks to come in and I had called EVERY DAY and everyone had tried to help me. No one blew me off or hung up on me. Told me the situtation if they knew, if they did not, they had told me straight up and did not tell me any BS as stated on previous reviews. After I received the car, I had a couple of problems here and there. ( A used car, what do you expect ) But they were really nice and took great care of me. They had tried their best to fix the problems I had, willing to pull some money out of their budget for me. They even had bought me all season floor mats from ACURA itself. Note* they are $139.99 list. Great people. The finance person tried to sell me the extended warranty but I did not buy it. Even though I am 20 years old, I had been through a couple dealerships with different finance managers and they through in fees of every kind. The other cars I had financed, they had charged me doc fee, prep fee, bank fee etc. They did not even bother trying to make a couple of more bucks on me by adding those BS fees. The only fee they had charged was the $35 doc fee i believe. Which I believe it is reasonable because they are not there to give out cars and not make money, they are there for money. I am trying to get the best deal possible but I also understand that they also need to make money and no one works for free. I believe the problems people had had before was true, not saying it is BS but they are human just like us. Stuff happens. Just like the situation with someone who couldn't received their vehicle they had ordered because of the 2 day snow storm that had damaged the car. For me, the title was delay not because of them, they were just the middle man and had to deal with me calling in every day atleast 2 times a day. Even the sales that did not sell me the car helped me. Not everyone in there are as professional as other dealers but I believe if they have a little more time, they will be just as great if not way better than the other dealers I had been to. No other dealer will give you the service they offer!

  • Yes They Do Suck But At Least They Are Trying To Do The Right Thing !

I am an MTA employee of a local bus depot near this Hyundai dealer ship. It made sense to buy a car becuase of the discount MCU members get is very helpful; she made it easy for us and we didnt feel ashamed about some mistakes we made in our past. Dont get me wrong the place is dated and need a major rehaul but the service we got for our sales women was amazing ! We waited 4 hours but at least she got Starbucks for us ...lol If you have dealt with as many sales people as we did prioir to meeting her .....you learn what is real and she was. You wont get jerked around with her ; with anyone else ....your on your own !
  • Yes YOu Can Buy A Car And Not Have DRAMA !!!!

I read the Horrible Reviews & Was Concern about buying a car at City World Hyundai. My Only Reason For Going Was That I am employed by a local hospital in The Bronx On Gun Hill Road. Our Children's Cancer Hospital receives a $ 200 donation for every Hyundai purchased by a local Bronx Hyundai Dealer by a Montefoire employee , friend of family member . This is the ONLY participating Hyundai dealer in area. When we arrive we meet a dated showroom and a very unhappy customer , what appeared to be sales people in dropped pants , not well groomed and who where not interested that a customer was in the showroom. I turned around and was ready to bolt when my colleague suggested to ask for our liaison. We asked for our liaison Anna; everything changed. She was enthusiastic, charming , straight forward and very passionate about helping me find the right car for my lifestyle. She sat us down , offered us a beverage , explained the car buying process and help me stay with in my budget and lifestyle. I feel very fortunate to have meet Anna. Especially after all the horror stories you read and hear. She is so pleasant and really helped us participate in the car buying process. She didn't promise me anything and certainly explained everything. We came back two days later after doing our own due diligence are sure enough the payment was exactly what she quoted no junk fees or trying to force me to buy anything , Dealership and ask for Anna & about Hyundai Hope On Wheels Donation Program and help The Montefiore Cancer Hospital with the much needed $ 200 donation.
  • Hyundai Car Purchased

    2.8 out of 5 starsby joyh1 on 09/29/2010

I highly recommend this dealership because of the new General Manager, Mathew Wadiak. Mr. Wadiak's professionalism and hard work has turned around City World Hyundai. I purchased my Hyundai SUV Santa Fe car on July 6th 2010 while the company was still re-organizing management. My experience was very challenging at that time. However, thanks to the new management team, I got results. Things that took two months to be done were completed in two days. The new management team, which includes Matt, Sandra, Kenton and others, worked tirelessly to get things done. They were trustworthy, professional, honest, and clear on details. They told me about the car fax and the motor vehicle records. They even provided me with copies for my records. My problems were solved and I am now happy and relieved. The new management team also followed up with me daily to ensure that I was completely satisfied. Overall, I would say that City World Hyundai did an A+ job. I am now a satisfied customer. I would like to suggest to new customers that if the sales staff is giving you a hard time, you should go directly to upper management. You should also do your homework by checking out the car fax and motor vehicle records; you will eliminate many problems for yourself. Give the new management a chance and you will certainly get results.
  • Worse Dealership

1 out of 5 starsby prettyf on 03/09/2010

Please run as far as you can from city world hyundai dealership in bronx, ny. Both manager and sales representative lie. I went in on the 23rd of february with a quote from another dealership in NJ, hoping to get a better deal in Ny. I left deposit money that same day and i was told I will get the car in four days, unfortunately that weekend there was a two days snow storm, so I figured that will obstruct the delivery of the car and I gave them extra three days. And guess what they said to me when I called to find out if the car is ready, they said "we went to pick up ur car and find out there was a damage on the car, so we have to bid on another car somewhere else". After that day, I kept calling, no one picks up or even return my call. It's been two weeks now and I still don't have the car, they give me different issue each time I call with another number which is not mine. So please and please don't do business with this people because you will never get ur car.
  • RUN DO NO WALK AWAY FROM THIS DEALERSHIP-1500 DEALER PREP 6.9% - new car

    1.3 out of 5 starsby kishma1 on 11/24/2009

I guess they saw me coming. I went to buy a new 2009 elantra for 13500 but they only had white so I was going to shop around. the manager then offered me a 2010 elantra gls for 14665 great deal right? If you are going to shop there (which i dont suggest) 2 things to look out for (1)- financing -I had already checked online so i knew chase offered 5.40 for 72 months. After a VERY long wait the finance guy tells me 6.9%. When I said I saw it for less and wanted to go to the bank myself he bagered me and said"I am the bank" came up with "sign for this rate and in 6months refinance". I have excellent credit why should I have to prove I will make payments...??? he said lots of garbage and tried to make me feel stupid but I use to work at a bank so didnt fall for it. Then comes the manager he gets me 4.7 for 72 month even better than I saw on the website great right?!!! And here is the second thing to look out for (2)-. 1495 dealer prep. Unforunately I had not done research on that otherwise I would have seen how websites said 600 was a scam. From the great deal I started with I wound up paying over MSRP. On my paperwork it now says alarm intead of dealer prep that was listed on my other paperwork. but I didnt order an extra alarm and the car came with one. I am very angry with myself cause I keep feeling I should leave and do more research but they keep stopping me. They talked fast I didnt have them break down what the dealer prep covered they started talking about DMV fees but thats separate from the dealer prep. The really bad thing is I was going to go to another dealer Lee's Toyota due to them being in the BJ's network however I checked on this site and they had really bad reviews so I went to City world but didnt think to check their reviews. If I had read the other reviews I never would have stepped foot in the place. I actually like the loan I didnt put down anything and the interest rate is good and the payment was what I wanted so I guess that was my other mistake telling him the max I would do for my payment cause that allowed him to adjust the dealer prep accordingly. So I did get burned but in the end they lose out because I am going to buy another more expensive car and I will not buy it there and I do know I lot of people and I will tell everyone I can not to go there. If I can save a few people from going there or falling for their tricks that will make up for the 1500 they got off of me. I also hate the fact that I left there thinking I had a good deal and that they feel they got over on me without me knowing (which they did) but when I picture the party they must have had after I left . I dont want anyone to have to feel that and beat themselves up like I am doing less that 12hrs after signing. DONT GO THERE...if you do....make them disclose all fees and interest rate....THEN RUN TO THE NEAREST COMPUTER AWAY FROM THEM. Within 10mins of checking the internet I relized my error but by then its too late
  • Stay Away - they will lie to get you to the door. DO NOT TRUST THEM!

I got a verbal quote on the phone for a new vehicle. A spoke to a salesperson and the manager several times before we came to a verbal agreement. When I went to the dealership to sign the paperwork (same day, a few hours later) the manager did not honor the agreement. In fact, refused to come out and meet me. The new deal that the dealership offered me was a lot more than the negotiated price. Consumer be aware !!!
  • Don't Waste Your Time !!!

1 out of 5 starsby phillybuyer on 03/27/2009

I saw a vehicle online I intended to purchase (my 5th online purchase). After all the preliminaries I was told by "Michelle" on Wednesday that the car was still on the lot and she would expect me on Thursday. After I traveled from Philly to the Bronx on 4 trains I was told by a different person that Michelle wasn't working and the car was sold on Tuesday. LIES, LIES, LIES!!! Don't waste your time with these people. If you don't believe me just give them a call and see for yourself how they act.

I wonder how can people give a 4 star to these guys.everybody in the neighborhood know this is not possible. I bought a santa fe with these people after an online ad. it was a fight for me to get the advertised price bkz they added so many fees, even duplicate fees.my family love Hyundai:we have 2 sonatas, 1 Veracruz, and 1 santa fe. first time going to this dealer, my friend recommended not to, but when they finally decided to low down their numerous fees, price was competitive with other dealers, so I took it. beginning of problems.make sure your scratch the body, get in the car, open all boxes and check spare tire.yes, all this was fake and damaged in mine. had to change all tires after some months, their answer: you wanted online price, you wanted too low price, you got it. car dealers are bad, we all know, but we just try to avoid the worst ones, and this one is definitely among the worst one, so...it s up to you

I had my share of disappointments with City World Hyundai Dealership, along with other dealerships. After several negative encounter with a few general managers, I met Mr. Ismael R. Hernandez. I must say that he did everything in his power to locate the vehicle I wanted to purchase, which was high on demand. He made me a promise and kept it. He returned all of my calls and texts whether the news was good or bad he did not hide. Thank you Ismael for being real, up front and keeping your word.
