by Rmlindberg on 05/11/2025I went to Honda of Keene to get a recall service on my 2023 Honda CR-V. At the end of the service, which was promptly done, they recommended that I get both me transmission and differential service with a fluid change for the cost of… $300+. My car only had 30,000 miles on it, and I declined the service. I went and checked with my normal mechanic, and he said that such a service was totally unnecessary at that mileage. Perhaps it would be needed at 60-70,000 miles but not at 30,000. This clearly seems like an attempt to sell me as service I did not need in order to get an extra $300 out of me.Excellent Service

Buying a used car at Honda of Keene

A purchase that should be fun, dealerships/salesmen always take the fun out and I have always walked away thinking I was taken advantage of. 40+ years of buying vehicles always the same until now. I… went in knowing exaclty what I was looking for, I had called the dealer earlier in the day, and spoke with Larry Gilmet, explained the vehicle I was interested in. When I arrived at the dealership Larry met me at the door, he had the car all ready for a testdrive. Larry was very helpful through the entire purchase, no pressure, he listened to my concerns and I walked away with a good experience and thinking this is how buying a new car should be! When Alex Mackay the sales manager came to the desk, I said to myself ok now is where the sales pressure starts, I was wrong, Alex showed me a couple options for warranties, we went over financing and what I expected, I picked the one I wanted and that was it, no pressure and a feeling that I was respected. All around great experience and I highly recommend this dealeriship to everyone. Larry was exceptional if only all salesmen could follow his example. He explained exactly what was being done regarding my car's multi point inspection. My car was due for an oil change and tire balance and… rotation. I was informed it needed a cabin air filter and engine air filter so I agreed to have that done,also. I was very pleased with the entire process.Hello Dorothy, Thank you for sharing your experience! I was in for a routine recall, which did not involve repair, only a check on the vehicle. Both on the phone, when I made the… appointment, and when I arrived, I was told it would be a quick and easy appointment. After waiting for the car for two hours, I went to the service desk to told them we would need to reschedule as I had another appointment to get to. At that time, I found my car was ready and no one had come to tell me. I am not sure whether my car had been ready for one minute or one hour or more. I am aware that they were very busy that day and that may have led to the lapse. I also had a problem on the previous recall in December, as did my son who has the same car and needed the same recall. Would I recommend this dealer to a friend? I will check yes, as we have been treated fairly and courteously at this dealership, but I would also tell my friend of the issues I have had, although relatively minor, with the Service Department.Hello, Thank you for sharing your experience, and we truly appreciate your continued trust in us. Upon arrival in the service department I… was greeted immediately Nathan was very thorough with the explanation of what would be done for my tire. I told him I had a limited amount of time due to another commitment. He proceeded to quickly have the oil change… service finished, and informed me of two other services that were necessary for safety and performance of my car. I asked him if they could be done in a specific amount of time as I have another engagement he said yes and they were even done a little quicker. We asked for all paperwork and the care to be ready when we arrived since traveling… distance. Not! Only ones there but waited hours and had to keep asking what was the hold up.
